Chapter 961: Chapter 934: Evil God’s Projection
Not only was the Evil God himself stunned, but the congregation below watching was also completely dumbfounded.
It seemed that since the "Secret Ceremony Power 21 - World" made its appearance, the nature of the duel began to shift.
This was no longer a duel but a performance, an execution. It was like a slow lingering death where everyone already knew the outcome but had to patiently wait through the long process.
After all, twenty turns was not a short amount of time.
So, everyone widened their eyes, the entire venue in silence, listening to Yugen tirelessly repeat the same actions over and over.
"My turn, draw a card."
"Standby Phase, retrieve the Assassin Snake from the graveyard. Then, Normal Summon the Assassin Snake."
"End Phase, Special Summon the ’Sacrificial Lotus’ back to my field."
"The effect of ’Secret Ceremony Power 21 - World’ sacrifices the ’Assassin Snake’ and ’Sacrificial Lotus’ to skip the next turn of the Evil God."
"The turn count for Countdown to the End continues to advance."
"..."
One by one, the fire circles on the countdown were lit up, ghostly fireballs illuminating to form a ring of fire, flickering eerily. Behind those flames seemed to hide a transcendent God of Death, surpassing any existence in the world, a God of Death that could rewrite even the rules of the duel, something even the gods couldn’t overtake.
As the flames lit up, the God of Death seemed to crack its mouth open, issuing a dangerous smirk.
The infinitely recycled monsters each turn, combined with a world that could infinitely stop time. Under such a combination, even if not just twenty turns, but two hundred, or two thousand turns, the opponent would still be dead.
When Yugen activated the Moon Book, the Eraser indifferently thought it was of no consequence. So what if he were covered face down? As long as the Eraser existed on the field, he was the strongest shield. Whether the opponent destroyed him in battle or blew him up with an explosive card, the Eraser’s ability would sweep the entire field.
But what he did not anticipate was that this face-down cover would become permanent.
Until the duel ended, and the end arrived, he never had the chance to see the light of day again.
"... activate the effect of ’Secret Ceremony Power 21 - World’ again, skipping the opponent’s turn. Let me see... huh? It seems it’s already been twenty turns."
Yugen feigned surprise and then said with a smile.
"I’m really sorry, Lord Evil God, but I regret to inform you..."
He squinted his eyes.
"... You seem to have lost."
Eraser: "..."
The eyes next to him silently watched Yugen. After staring for a moment, they couldn’t help but whisper.
"Just with that mouth of yours, being able to live this long, it shows how profoundly immeasurable your power is..."
On the twentieth turn of the countdown, the final flame was also ignited. The originally small twenty flames suddenly burst, instantly converging into a curtain of fire that seemed to engulf the heavens and earth!
That was no ordinary fire; it was as if God had decided to repeat the great flood that once destroyed the world, only this time descending with heavenly fire to consume everything. That flame carried with it an intent to annihilate, and anything it touched was instantly burned and destroyed until not a trace remained.
That was truly the flame of the end that even gods could not resist.
The black aura emanating from within the bishop, originating from the Eraser, had already begun to flicker, seemingly ready to disappear at any moment. Yet the Evil God’s eyes still stared straight at Yugen, as if wishing to use a piercing gaze to tear this detestable fellow into a thousand pieces.
"Now even if you kneel and apologize, it’s already too late, human."
The Evil God said deeply.
"Such torment, such humiliation... very well, very well indeed. From now on, this has become a personal grievance. Now I no longer only want that elf, I want you.
You will forever become the Evil God’s slave, for all eternity..."
He looked as if he had much more to say, like someone whose mindset shattered after finishing a game, wanting to output crazily at the results screen. But alas, his hand speed wasn’t fast enough; the opponent had already all left before he could say much, and a stomach full of curses had to be swallowed back forcibly, causing his already unvented anger to surge several times over...
Yugen walked to the front of his opponent, seeing the bishop on his knees with a dazed look, as if stupefied. It wasn’t until Yugen stood in front of him that he slowly raised his head, foolishly staring at Yugen for a moment before suddenly realizing, panicking, and shouting aloud.
"Stop, don’t... no!"
He flailed his arms and legs, looking as if he had seen the most terrifying thing in the world, desperately retreating, continually waving his hands at Yugen.
"Don’t come over! Don’t come over ahhhh!"
The voice was so shrill, so terrifying. Countless congregants below heard it, feeling an endless chill overwhelm their hearts, their hands and feet cold, their whole bodies as if frozen.
"Don’t be afraid, I’m not the devil."
Yugen laughed.
"Come on, with a master this handsome, nothing to be afraid of."
The Vampire Princess said cheerfully.
"Run away again, and I’ll suck you dry."
Showing her sharp little fangs.
The bishop stiffened, shivering all over, yet truly not daring to escape any further.
Although he had been possessed by the Evil God, there was still a faint consciousness. He couldn’t fully remember the process of the duel, but that vague impression felt like an unprecedentedly horrific nightmare. Even if he couldn’t recall the specifics, the fear from the dream had seeped into his very bones.
If anything could be more terrifying than the nightmare itself, it was waking up and finding that the nightmare specter was standing in front of you, smiling.
This was exactly the bishop’s current true experience.
However, Yugen had little interest in such a puppet, beginning by pulling out the person’s Card Deck for a quick search.
Sure enough, just like before with Zok, the Evil God Eraser card had disappeared.
But Yugen was not surprised.
The Evil God he just faced should not have been the real one, as he sensed during the duel. Although it had the oppression of an Evil God, it was not as strong as a God should be. It felt similar to when Yugen visited the Elf Realm, with his real body in the secular world, only projecting his consciousness into the Elf Realm.
So he didn’t blame the Evil God for sending a puppet to duel him, as he often did the same himself.
To find the real Evil God, one would either have to find the dimension where the Evil God resides or wait for the real body to come to confront him.
After today’s battle, the Eraser probably wouldn’t challenge him with another puppet, as the opponent should know it would be meaningless. Yugen was not someone who could be dealt with by sending a mere puppet.
Without the real Evil God, Yugen lost interest in this Deck, casually stuffing it in his pocket, then turning to the bishop.
"Alright, a few questions. Don’t worry, it’ll be quick.
Well, now that I know who your family’s Evil God is, let’s start with this question..."
Yugen pulled out the card with the eye on it and no other information from Eye.
"What is this elf? Why does your family want this useless thing?"
