Chapter 954: Chapter 927: Unknown Evil God

Hmm, this was also beyond Yugen’s expectations.

He originally just wanted a grand entrance with dazzling effects, a stunning appearance, and a superhero-like three-point landing pose.

As for landing directly on their altar, that was unforeseen.

Thus, the opposing side seemed to naturally regard him as the embodiment of the Evil God, or at least a messenger of some sort...

Yugen pondered for two seconds.

The original plan was indeed simple: quickly break through, then activate the chaos mode, question those willing to cooperate, and beat up those who aren’t until they agree...

Typical Hanuo Knight-style intrusion.

But now that they see him as an envoy of the Evil God, perhaps he could use this to his advantage...

Unfortunately, before he could act on this thought, some unforeseen factor forcibly interrupted it.

Suddenly, another pitch-black lightning bolt struck down from mid-air, roaring towards Yugen’s position.

Yugen stood steadfast without moving, but a transparent white array barrier appeared above him. The powerful lightning struck the barrier entirely, with shock waves spreading outwards but firmly held by the barrier.

After the failed strike, a roar of anger seemed to echo from the thunderclouds above. Then, a second fierce bolt struck, this time targeting the bishop outside the altar.

The bishop’s eyes widened with shock, letting out a string of screams as the lightning struck.

In the next moment, a mighty aura erupted from the bishop’s body, as if a faint, elusive shadow materialized above him.

Yugen was too familiar with this state.

He’s been possessed by something.

"Breaking into the altar, disrupting the ritual..."

The bishop’s eyes turned completely black as he slowly said.

"...Unforgivable."

The sudden change happened too quickly, in the blink of an eye. The congregation stood bewildered, unsure of the situation.

This overwhelming pressure, which seemed to suppress the entire venue, making them afraid to look up or breathe deeply, was undoubtedly what they recognized from before, the oppressive force of the Evil God.

The bishop’s state was precisely the same as when he was possessed by the Evil God before. It seemed the Evil God had manifested again through the bishop.

So, in light of this, the cool gentleman who descended from the sky earlier wasn’t the envoy of the Evil God?

"Are you the so-called Evil God?" Yugen asked.

The bishop glared at him coldly, without answering.

"Good that the actual host showed up," Yugen nodded, "I originally planned to handle your followers one by one before figuring out who you are.

But since you’re here now, I’ll save myself the trouble."

He directly activated his Duel Disc.

The bishop, or rather the entity possessing him, stared at Yugen briefly.

Then spoke in a hoarse voice.

"Mortal strongmen, only thriving in their own realms, really think themselves invincible. Very well."

The bishop extended his hand, as the swirling darkness behind him converged onto his arm, transforming into the shape of a Duel Disc. The black fog similarly condensed into the card slots, forming a Card Deck.

"Duel!" x2

[Yugen, LP4000]

[Bishop, LP4000]

"I’m taking the first move, draw a card."

Yugen took the first move.

Yugen quickly glanced at his hand.

"Cover a monster in Face-down Defense Position."

The Monster Card floated face-down in the backfield.

"Next, activate the Magic Card ’Handwriting Erasure’," Yugen said, "Both players discard all their cards, then draw the same number of cards from their decks."

Both sides discarded their cards, then redrew new ones.

"Finally, I’ll set a Covering Card, ending my turn," Yugen said.

Suddenly developing into a duel on the altar, the congregation exchanged bewildered glances, not knowing what to make of the situation.

"A defensive strategy and piling up graveyard resources, huh," the bishop said, "But the inherent risk of ’Handwriting Erasure’ is that while you’re gathering graveyard resources, you’re also providing the same chance for the opponent."

"Indeed."

Yugen smiled.

"Then Evil God, you best seize the opportunity."

Bishop: "My turn, draw a card."

He similarly glances briefly at his hand, extracting two cards without much thought.

"Cover a monster in Face-down Defense Position," the bishop said, "Then set a Covering Card, ending my turn."

"Oh, not attacking?" Yugen chuckled, "Isn’t that wasting a rare opportunity?"

The bishop ignored him, calmly saying.

"It’s your turn."

"Such coldness, looks like Evil God isn’t the chatty type," Yugen laughed.

Bishop: "If you’re trying to extract information from me, save the effort."

"No, you’re overthinking, just having a casual chat... My turn, draw a card."

Yugen said, casually flipping over the Monster Card on his Duel Disc.

"Since you’re not attacking, I’ll take the initiative and flip it over.

Flip Summon ’Black Forest Witch’."

The Monster Card flipped over, with the robed witch emerging from the card picture, quietly standing in the center of the field.

"Next, flip the Cover Card," Yugen said, "Trap Card ’Weapon Call’."

The Trap Card activated, opening a transparent green vortex in mid-air on Yugen’s field, resembling a teleportation gate.

"Weapon Call’s effect allows you to add one Equipment Magic Card from the deck to your hand. Moreover, if there’s a monster on your field meeting the equipment conditions, you can equip this card to the target monster."

A card automatically ejected from Yugen’s deck, which he picked up with a flourish.

"I’ll add ’Magical Wand’ from my deck to my hand."

The deck automatically shuffled in the Duel Disc slot.

"Magical Wand can be equipped to mage race monsters, and Black Forest Witch meets the equipment conditions," Yugen said, "Now equipping the Magical Wand to the Witch, increasing the equipped monster’s attack power by 500 points."

Mana consolidated on the field, forming into a staff shape, which gathered into the witch’s hands.

[Black Forest Witch, Attack Power 1100→Attack Power 1600]

"Magical Wand’s effect sends both the Wand and the equipped monster to the graveyard to draw two cards from the deck."

The witch swung the wand, releasing its final magic power before both she and the wand vanished.

"The wand’s effect draws cards," the bishop said, "And also triggers the witch’s search ability, right?"

"Oh, you seem well-informed."

Yugen drew two cards, smiling slightly.

"Correct. Then activating Black Forest Witch’s own effect.

This card is sent to the graveyard, allowing me to add a monster with 1500 or less defense power from the deck to my hand.

The one I’ll add is this."

The deck executed an automatic search again, with the ejected Monster Card drawn into his hand.

"From the deck, I’ll add the card with 0 defense power, ’Summoning God of Chaos’ to my hand."
