Chapter 850: Chapter 823: I’m Just a Cat

Tongshiyi City, Dark Web Underground Market.

The Dark Web has bases in most cities around the world. They should be the leading organization in today’s underworld, with their influence spanning the globe, a force that commands the respect and fear of Dark Duelists worldwide.

In many places, they represent the rules. No one dares to defy them, no one dares to utter a word of disagreement with their decisions. If any club disagrees with their decisions, they will make those people understand the consequences of defiance.

However, these rules don’t work here.

As for why...

Members of the organization generally don’t like to mention it, and rarely dare to bring up that forbidden name.

A young man in green descends the dark stairs all the way down. After turning several corners, there is finally some light at the end of the passage.

Two security guards in black suits stand at the doorway. The young man shows his membership card from the Dark Web, the guards see it clearly and respectfully step back, bowing to him.

The young man enters, walks through the entire trading market, and sits in a waiting room. After a short rest, a well-dressed middle-aged man enters, sitting next to him.

"The legendary Insect Moth, famed nationwide champion."

The middle-aged man smiles and extends his hand to the young man.

"What wind brings such a legend here?"

Butterfly doesn’t shake hands but crosses his legs with a confident smile, nodding: "Looks like you’re the manager here?"

The manager doesn’t mind, gestures for his subordinate to close the door, and sits beside Butterfly.

"Honestly, I was quite surprised to know that someone like Mr. Butterfly has entered our world on the dark side."

Butterfly shrugs: "Power is everything, I realized that a long time ago."

"Hahaha, well said. In that case, you’re a valued guest of the Dark Web," the manager smiles, "perhaps we could seek more cooperation opportunities in the future."

"Maybe, but that’s not why I’m here today."

Butterfly sits up straight, speaking coldly.

"Two days ago, my partner was reclaiming... something very important in this city. Now he’s missing, and I need to know where he went and what exactly happened."

"Your... partner?" the manager asks.

"Ryuzaki Kyoryu, you can’t possibly have not heard of him," Butterfly replies.

"Oh, the legendary Mr. Ryuzaki." The manager displays respect but shakes his head regretfully, "This matter has nothing to do with our Dark Web."

"I know. But the Dark Web division knows everything about the local underworld, I know this is a customary rule of the underworld."

Butterfly straightens his body.

"You should know everything, including what happened to my partner and where the thing he was chasing went.

Any intelligence can be traded for a price, isn’t that the rule?"

"Uh..."

The manager looks troubled, scratching his head awkwardly.

"That’s the rule in other regions, but here... the situation is a bit more complicated."

Butterfly frowns.

"You must be joking? So the rumors are true?" Butterfly says in a deep voice, "The mighty Dark Web is really afraid of that guy?

The rookie called Revolver?"

Who knew after he said this, the manager’s face suddenly changed, and his body uncontrollably stood up from his chair.

Butterfly was startled by the extreme reaction, instinctively taking a few steps back.

He was certain he seemed to see... fear in the manager’s eyes?

But the manager quickly composed himself, returned to his seat, and whispered, "We usually don’t mention his name."

Butterfly: "..."

Back when he heard that the vast Dark Web, the fathomless global power organization, was scared of a rookie force called the "Hanuo Knight," he instinctively thought it was a rumor.

But now it seems not only is it not a rumor, but the rumors are a bit conservative...

So just what kind of existence is this Revolver Leader to make a Dark Web manager shrink back just by mentioning his name?

"We don’t randomly probe into matters concerning Revolver Leader."

The manager whispered, leisurely pouring tea for Butterfly.

"If you or the force you represent wants to have any conflict with Revolver Leader, we at the Dark Web know nothing and will not be involved."

"Alright."

Butterfly shakes his head, doesn’t drink the tea, and directly stands up.

"I originally thought you guys could be considered a big shot, now it seems I overestimated you..."

"Frankly speaking, Mr. Butterfly. You don’t know what you’re facing."

The manager said casually.

"Your partner, Ryuzaki Kyoryu, he is the lesson learned from the past.

Take my advice, no matter what important thing you lost, since it was lost in this city... you’d better consider it gone."

"I’m not like that useless Ryuzaki."

Butterfly says icily, standing and walking toward the door.

However, before leaving, he pauses slightly and then turns to the manager.

"So, you at the Dark Web will absolutely maintain neutrality, correct?"

"Of course," the manager nods, "We know nothing and will not participate in any disputes that may occur."

"Fine. Then it looks like I have to directly meet with the Hanuo Knight to understand the situation."

After speaking, Butterfly pushes the door open and leaves.

After Butterfly leaves, after a moment, the manager retracts his smile and immediately returns to his office.

"Manager?" The beautiful secretary stands up to greet him, seemingly able to tell from his expression that something important has happened.

"Get in touch with the Hanuo Knight."

The manager says coldly.

"Tell them Insect Moth is looking to cause them trouble."

...

...

"What? Insect Moth?"

Upon receiving the message from Hanuo’s subordinates, Yugen is on his way out of the exam hall during his final exams.

Of course, he actually doesn’t have to take the exams necessarily. He goes just to test his results in specific subjects.

"Yes, a message from the Dark Web, Revolver Leader."

Over there, Hanuo’s contact person reports.

Yugen ponders.

That really is a nostalgic name, didn’t expect to still hear about Butterfly in the underworld at this age.

"Alright, got it. But I’m a bit busy lately, not much time..."

Yugen tilts his head, thinking.

"Okay, help me contact Daidoji."

"Understood, sir."

Yugen waits on the phone for a moment. On the other side of the call, there is first a sound of a cat meowing, seemingly something being knocked over.

Then Daidoji’s voice comes through on the other end.

"Is calling a cat to answer the phone a bit much, Leader?" Daidoji complains.

Yugen laughs: "Is that so? I was thinking of calling you on a mission."

Daidoji: "Meow?"

"There’s a troublemaker who seems to want to find us trouble, maybe he’s looking for the nameless elf I encountered last time. He might know some information about that elf.

Help me capture him, and do it swiftly, but capture him alive."

There is silence on the other end for a while.

Then Daidoji’s helpless voice comes through: "You know I’m just a cat now, right..."

"I know you can do it." Yugen laughs, "Then it’s settled, I’ll leave it to you, teacher, I have faith in you."

Daidoji: "Meow..."
