Chapter 1555: Chapter 948: Hundred-legged Demon
Experienced adventurers of the Sain Dungeon all know.
When you feel like the surroundings are off and it seems like a monster is about to emerge, there’s no need for "it seems"—a monster is definitely about to emerge!
It’s not the wide-scale shaking of an earthquake, but something heavy climbing from the depths of the magma, the crimson lava beginning to erupt violently, each explosion causing higher splashes until the magma erupts like a fountain!
At the moment of sensing unnatural vibrations from the ground, Luluwo immediately abandoned the summoning symbol she was about to touch, dodging with all her power toward the side away from the magma, her arm not forgetting to fling a chain further away, Tami seamlessly grabbed the flying chain, yanking it over to her side forcefully.
Just as Luluwo’s legs left the ground and she was being pulled towards the others, the magma behind her exploded instantly from inside out.
A gigantic segmented limb of distorted flesh burst out of the magma, smashing heavily onto the rock.
It appeared to be... some insect’s leg?
Countless insect legs smashed one after another from the edges of the magma, each one looking both like an insect leg and a chunk of flesh, burrowing deep into the rock, the surrounding erupting lava couldn’t hurt them in the slightest, then an extremely grotesque monster’s head slowly rose from the magma.
The entire form of this unwelcome guest was revealed to everyone.
"Ugh, insects are disgusting."
The appearance of this monster in everyone’s eyes was like a centipede stripped of its shell with excessive flesh growth!
But underneath the excessively long centipede body grew legs resembling the lower body of a Rot Dragon, and its upper centipede body bore various mutated flesh growths, countless insect legs writhing unconsciously in the red-hot environment, a scene that would likely terrify any insect-phobic person to death.
However, the counterpart’s head didn’t have an insect-like feeling, instead, the fiery eyes looked much like Belial...
And at the sight of this creature, the Skyrim Strategy Group members had a strange thought.
Why does this guy feel quite similar to a "persistently decaying organism"?
[Hundred-legged Demon]
The name of this monster emerged in the Hunter’s Manual.
"I just knew there’d be surprises at the end of the hidden door."
Luluwo sighed in relief, glad she chose to retreat in time.
Otherwise, she feared being drenched in magma.
"It’s another demon indeed," Mila gripped the hammer and said, "Who do you think is stronger between this guy and the Sheep-headed or Bull-headed Demon?"
"Is there even a comparison, the Sheep-headed Demon’s strength is in its pack of dogs?" Tami quipped, "Plus, no matter how you see it, the Hundred-legged Demon looks way more ridiculous, you say it can eat ten Sheep-headed Demons at once, I’d believe you."
"How about we go catch a Sheep-headed Demon for some beast fighting later?" Berto suddenly suggested.
"Shut up, is this the time for idle chatter...." Ais couldn’t tolerate this unserious group any longer.
The Skyrim Strategy Group’s atmosphere felt relaxed, like spotting rare beasts while on a wild excursion, starkly different from the usual adventurers’ reaction to encountering a boss monster.
But this demeanor could only be described as normal.
After all, they are seasoned experienced adventurers of the Sain Dungeon.
They’ve seen and fought—and even won against—monsters more menacing and bizarre than the Hundred-legged Demon, if they were "shocked," "scared," or "felt pressured" upon first seeing the Hundred-legged Demon, the growth they’ve achieved over the past year would amount to nothing.
The Hundred-legged Demon’s flame-burning eyes fixed on the group, its giant mouth opened, spewing a burst of air mixed with fine sparks from deep within its throat,
and then it moved without any prior motion.
The centipede body wasn’t particularly long, but it flicked, the flesh suddenly elongating dozens of meters, sweeping across—a cunning design with suddenly changing attack range, while its innumerable insect legs beneath swung randomly, especially grotesque and sanity-draining.
"Scatter!"
Everyone jumped out simultaneously, their reaction speed skillfully avoiding such swift attacks.
Their reaction ability has evolved to a new level thanks to the Omen Demon teacher and the mass of monsters in Nimgruf Gaidel Lake’s Lienia who treat Fast and Slow Blade as a normal attack.
Tami, while rolling, already picked up a flying knife, hurling it toward the side of the Hundred-legged Demon’s head upon rising.
The flying knife was swallowed by flames spewed from its eyes as it approached, appearing melted, yet the Hundred-legged Demon immediately emitted a pained screech, the knife seemingly effective.
But, this minor damage was completely trivial to it.
"The eyeball might be a weakness," Tami declared immediately, "like other monsters."
Berto closed in from the other side, not rushing an attack but instead testing by blocking a sweeping insect leg of the Hundred-legged Demon with a brass shield.
With a "bang," the tendril slammed onto the shield surface, Berto was knocked back sliding, his shield-bearing arm numb, the force was greater than expected.
