Chapter 705: Chapter 648: Three Dao Palaces
"Do you want to go over and take a look?"
The old Daoist looked at him like he was crazy. No, even a madman knows fear of being beaten.
This kid is crazier than a madman.
He knows that area is certainly dangerous, yet he’s rushing in?
"Do you know what you’re doing?"
The old Daoist got off Han Yu, not daring to let him carry him any further, lest he really be taken to his death.
Dying in such a place or at the hands of a Divine Platform Realm cultivator as a fallen Divine Dao Realm expert would be utterly humiliating.
Worse than death.
Han Yu naturally knew what he was doing; Yama Hall was closing in with every step, linking every move together, leading everyone by the nose.
Whether it’s Celestial Dao Sect or Central Continent, it seems like they’re all advancing according to Yama Hall’s rhythm.
Even the Artifact Spirit advised him against it, knowing it was dangerous but still rushing to court death.
"This time, it’s not seeking death."
Han Yu’s serious expression made the Artifact Spirit nearly unrecognizable.
He realized one thing: if Yama Hall continues this way, even low-cultivation friends like Mo Xiuwen might die inexplicably at some cultivator’s hands.
Besides friends, there’s the small village at the Southern Border and those he knew.
Even Quan Xiaotong, who took great care of him.
These people, appearing in his life one by one, might perish in this millennium-long scheme.
"Do you think I should do something?"
Han Yu suddenly asked the Artifact Spirit with emotion.
"Haven’t you always been doing things?"
The Artifact Spirit counted Han Yu’s actions, whether aiding the Nine Sects or finding the formation base, every act was helpful.
"But weren’t all these because Quan Xiaotong asked me?"
Han Yu sighed; it’s all because Quan Xiaotong had no other choice but to seek him out.
Even the confrontation with Yama Hall happened because of a twist of fate.
Or it’s due to the Qi Fortune targeting Fen Soul.
He seemed to always be moving passively, being driven like this.
From initially refining Pills to survive, to later striving to gain strength by offering Pills.
All things considered, it seems like he’s done a lot, yet nothing at all.
"You’re the one who said you don’t like being morally blackmailed."
The Artifact Spirit advised.
Han Yu was silent for a moment, his brows initially knitted then gradually relaxing.
He then smiled broadly.
"What others impose on me is moral blackmail; what I take on myself is responsibility."
The old Daoist originally wanted to say more, but Han Yu suddenly stood still as if he was lost in thought.
In a brief moment, Han Yu’s expressions went from conflicted, hesitant, to at ease.
Finally, when Han Yu snapped back, the first thing he saw was the old Daoist’s face shoved right up close.
"Were you just having an epiphany?"
The old Daoist speculated.
Han Yu, with a look of disdain, covered the old man’s face, as if the old guy was about to kiss him, without feeling awkward.
"I was having a dialogue with myself."
It wasn’t wrong; though the conversation seemed with the Artifact Spirit, it was actually Han Yu’s decision-making.
The old Daoist rolled his eyes, not believing a word of it from the depths of his heart.
Han Yu finally glanced at his Sea of Consciousness, it seemed mostly recovered, and the recovery speed was increasing.
Even his physical body was gradually improving.
In that case, he could give it a try.
"Are you really going? You should know you can’t help the entire Central Continent alone!"
The old Daoist watched Han Yu take a step forward and couldn’t help but speak out.
Damn it, it’s statements like yours that led me astray.
What help or not, aren’t I a Central Continent person too?
And so is Quan Xiaotong.
Isn’t a simple "you’re also from Central Continent" enough?
Han Yu waved his hand and in the next moment reentered the underground, leaving the astonished old Daoist behind.
He really went?
Wait, you left an old man like me here!
Can Ping’s mist block the perception of cultivators and old Daoists like those Walking the Dao?
The Artifact Spirit didn’t dare to guarantee, as it had never been tried before.
In the past, it had managed to obscure those Entering the Dao like Xin Zui, but the drawbacks were significant, and if Han Yu caused too much commotion, the mist would be ineffective.
"Then what are we waiting for? Arm me fully, don’t even leave out my toes."
Han Yu traversed the underground while anxiously instructing.
The Artifact Spirit helplessly tapped Ping, this job still required Ping.
After tunneling for a moment, the Artifact Spirit suddenly halted him.
Because it sensed a dense array of spiritual power overhead.
"There are many people, maybe you should reconsider?"
The Artifact Spirit advised persistently.
So far, they haven’t been detected. One reason might be that Han Yu hasn’t cultivated, and therefore has no spiritual power fluctuations.
The second reason might be that the mist’s capabilities are stronger than imagined.
However, the Artifact Spirit believes this shouldn’t be a reason for taking risks. After all, the mist is not a trump card; once there’s any commotion, they will be discovered.
"Then find a secluded place; I’ll take a quick look."
Han Yu was equally unwilling to give up.
The difference between the person and the spirit lies in that such an adventure has no retreat and isn’t worth it.
"Are you and that old Daoist stupid? I’m not here to risk my life, just to scout the area."
Han Yu said irritably, since the Yama Hall put significant arrangements here, it’s essential, at least to take a look.
At the very least, they should know what the Yama Hall is doing here.
The Artifact Spirit finally gave in, but it still emphasized with unease.
"As agreed, just a quick look."
After Han Yu nodded repeatedly, it reluctantly found the most secluded corner.
When they slightly poked their head out from the ground, Han Yu glanced around furtively, ensuring safety before slowly surfacing.
This place was remote; upon first glance, three rather large Daoic Palaces were already in view.
Their design was eerie and gloomy, lacking grandeur but with more evil aura.
The buildings instead resembled their Ghostly Realm Dharma Aspect.
Besides the three Daoic Palaces, there were even traces of ongoing construction. Could there be more than just these few?
Han Yu dared not approach further. Besides the Daoic Palaces, groups of hundreds of Divine Platform Initial Realm cultivators stood guard.
"There might be more people than this."
The Artifact Spirit pointed at the streaks of light continually flying through the sky. These Initial Realm lackeys were scattered across the Central Continent. If they gathered, their number might be staggering.
The traces of Walking the Dao cultivators were quickly spotted. Another team of twenty descended from the sky and swiftly returned to one of the Daoic Palaces.
"Go have a look."
Han Yu couldn’t restrain himself any longer.
The Artifact Spirit wailed in fright, "Didn’t you say just a quick look?"
"Just one more look."
Without waiting, Han Yu cautiously slipped closer, quietly popping out half of his head when he got nearer.
Soul Hall!
The two seal-script characters were inscribed on the Daoic Palace’s gate, with strokes like a knife cutting through dragon and serpent, seemingly soul-stirring.
Han Yu was entranced at once. It wasn’t until the Artifact Spirit shook the Ping to awaken him that he snapped back to reality.
"This plaque is unusual; don’t look directly at it."
The Artifact Spirit’s expression became solemn. With mere words, such an unusual aura of deterrence suggests that the cultivator who wrote them must be incredibly powerful.
Besides, Han Yu also stole a glance at the other two Earth Palaces.
However, this time he learned his lesson, not daring to look directly. After a quick peek, he immediately shifted his gaze.
One was the Punishment Hall, and the other was the Reincarnation Hall.
The meaning of these left Han Yu baffled. He could only jot it down silently, planning to ask the old Daoist later.
"Let’s go, let’s go!"
The Artifact Spirit couldn’t help urging; Han Yu’s presence genuinely frightened it. This place was like a hornet’s nest. If poked, all the cultivators would swarm over, causing great trouble.
Han Yu actually thought about retreating. Just as he was about to move, a stream of light suddenly descended.
This nearly made his scalp explode — another team of Walking the Dao cultivators landed right above him.
At this moment, he dared not move, but neither did staying put feel right.
If he moved, he feared making noise; staying unmoved meant standing awkwardly under a group right above his head.
Han Yu didn’t dare to move, yet this group moved first. One by one, they stepped over his head, and one particularly tactless person even accidentally stepped on Han Yu’s head.
For a moment, both he and Han Yu had peculiar expressions.
The imbalance immediately alerted that cultivator. Upon turning back for closer inspection, he saw only the uneven ground, devoid of anything.
Still unconvinced, he stomped the same spot a few more times, yet the imbalance never returned.
"What’s going on?"
The fellow cultivator halted in surprise as he recounted the peculiarity.
Just like the old Daoist said, it’s hard for cultivators to hide under each other’s noses; the notion of the safest place being the most dangerous is nonsense.
Merely from intuition, this group of cultivators could spread their aura across the area to search.
With lingering fear, Han Yu reburrowed into the ground, feeling as if visions continuously swept over him.
"That’s aura; don’t let it touch you."
The Artifact Spirit helplessly reminded.
Fortunately, the mist’s power seemed exceptionally strong. As long as Han Yu didn’t make any noise, these auras entirely ignored Han Yu’s presence.
After several sweeps, this group finally ceased their search.
"Probably just your imagination."
"No cultivator could escape such scrutiny."
"Nor could any silently slip in."
When their voices faded into the distance, Han Yu finally exhaled deeply.
Returning, he moved with extreme caution, focusing entirely on the Artifact Spirit’s feedback.
Whenever groups of Walking the Dao cultivators passed, he would freeze in place.
Only after they left did he continue to sneak away.
The old Daoist swore he was never so pathetic, at least a Divine Dao cultivator, fearing that encountering a Walking the Dao cultivator might end him.
The Central Continent’s local hadn’t stirred much trouble after sneaking in, which was somewhat reassuring; no commotion meant safety, no discovery.
