Chapter 1254: Chapter 1273: Disciplining the An Family Mother and Daughter (19)

"Mom, are we going now? Isn’t it too early for this?"

The reply came back with unwavering resolve: "There’s nothing wrong with it; we’re going now. Both you and I will go freshen up, and in half an hour, we’ll meet in the living room. Do not be late."

The company’s current situation allowed no room for delay. If she wasn’t on the verge of collapse, she wouldn’t be looking for that rebellious son. Only this oblivious daughter knew nothing.

An Yuya parked the car in the parking lot of a five-star hotel in B City. Xi Xilan glanced out the window and frowned slightly: "Are you sure your brother lives here?"

An Yuya hesitantly nodded: "The investigators told me that since my brother returned to the country, he has leased the presidential suite here and has been living here."

Xi Xilan continued to frown and nodded: "Alright, let’s go."

They went directly to the hotel’s presidential suite on the top floor without asking at the front desk. Both women considered themselves notable figures in B City; some matters were best not known to others.

In front of the presidential suite, An Yuya stepped forward to press the doorbell.

’Ding-dong’

’Ding-dong’

’Ding-dong’

...

After several rings, no one came to answer the door, and doubts began to surface in their hearts and eyes: "Could it be that no one actually lives here?"

Just as Xi Xilan posed the question, An Yuya immediately countered her: "Impossible, the people reporting to me said that just yesterday, they saw my brother here."

As soon as she finished speaking, one of the doors of the white jade stone-carved entrance opened from the inside, revealing a face both women found shockingly familiar.

An Yuya exclaimed in surprise: "Gao Yuwen, what are you doing here? And dressed so provocatively."

Xi Xilan was also visibly shocked but, having seen much of the world, she didn’t give the person a chance to speak. She simply moved forward, pushing aside the body blocking the door, and walked in boldly. Seeing this, An Yuya quickly followed in her mother’s footsteps, with Gao Yuwen’s disgruntled voice trailing behind them: "You mother and daughter are like bandits. Did I invite you in? Get out now, or I’ll call the police."

Xi Xilan halted abruptly upon hearing this, and both An Yuya and Gao Yuwen nearly collided due to the sudden stop.

Her sharp gaze and arrogant demeanor quickly quelled Gao Yuwen’s fiery attitude. Then, the person in front of her spoke calmly and deliberately: "First of all, given your status, it’s unlikely you could afford to stay here. The only possibility is you’re benefiting from someone else’s status, and that someone is my son. So, you tell me, do I have the right to be here?" The deeper implication being, if I haven’t asked you to leave, consider it my courtesy.

Gao Yuwen was not foolish and understood the underlying meaning. Although she was internally reluctant to concede, she had to acknowledge the truth in each sentence the woman spoke. Since knowing that man, she hadn’t seen any connection with the An Family or him visiting them even once. But given they were mother and daughter, and she was an outsider, how could she easily offend a woman with a distinguished status in B City under these circumstances?
