Chapter 1025: Chapter 1025: A Heaven-Net Trap for Her (Part 5)
Su Weiyi steadied herself, suppressing the tingling pain in her heart and the thoughts she dared not continue, quickly changed her clothes, and left with her bag.
Su Weiyi rarely drove today; upon arrival at the agreed-upon place, Si Nian, Si Xia, and Chen Ajia were already there. As soon as Chen Ajia saw Su Weiyi, she, as usual, stepped forward and linked arms with her.
The four of them decided to have a meal first, then slowly browse around.
Halfway through the meal, maybe feeling a bit warm, Chen Ajia took off the scarf around her neck, sitting right beside Su Weiyi. With a turn of her head, she noticed two small red marks on Chen Ajia’s neck.
Having been in love herself, she knew very well what those were. Glancing at Si Nian across the table, then at her close friend beside her, Su Weiyi understood. The thoughts she had pushed aside before resurfaced. Was it possible that last night, Sheng Yanxiao and that woman also...?
Su Weiyi’s hand trembled, and that feeling of tingling pain returned.
Trying hard to suppress that feeling, Su Weiyi buried her head in her meal, chewing on the sweet caramelized sweet potato in her mouth. But Su Weiyi felt that perhaps the chef’s skills were off today—why did this sweet potato taste so bitter?
They quickly finished eating and started shopping from the top floor downwards. This mall in B City was newly constructed over a year ago, designed to mimic a well-known shopping center in Hong Kong. Without the need for escalators, the entire layout was spiral, allowing shoppers to gradually descend layer by layer.
Choosing gifts is inherently a tangled affair, especially for someone like Miss Tang who lacks nothing. After walking around for quite a while, they still hadn’t found something suitable.
Su Weiyi’s gift was a drawing she made herself; it wasn’t expensive, but it expressed her feelings as a daughter.
While they continued shopping, Chen Ajia suddenly spoke up, "Isn’t that... Young Master Sheng?"
Su Weiyi was startled, reflexively looking in the direction Chen Ajia pointed. Sure enough, she saw Sheng Yanxiao and a woman just exiting a clothing store. Who else could it be but the girl named Yue Wei?
Although Chen Ajia hadn’t met Yue Wei yesterday, she was aware of the past between Sheng Yanxiao and Su Weiyi. She also knew why Su Weiyi had left initially. Chen Ajia looked at Su Weiyi; despite her boisterous demeanor, she wasn’t oblivious to basic human relationships. She tugged at Si Nian beside her: "Who is that woman?"
Si Nian awkwardly rubbed his nose and chuckled: "Uh, you know, I’m not familiar either."
"You and your Brother Xiao might as well wear the same pants, yet you’re not familiar?"
Si Nian was speechless, lowered his voice: "Dear, I’ll explain to you later."
Su Weiyi’s gaze followed them onto the elevator until they were out of sight before she retracted her gaze.
Since when did Sheng Yanxiao accompany a woman shopping?
Especially buying clothes, an activity he considers the ultimate boredom.
After wandering for a while longer, Si Xia finally chose a scarf as a gift, while Si Nian bought an English original edition of a world classic.
Just as the four walked out of the shopping mall, Su Weiyi’s phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number; she answered.
A voice came through from the other end, "Xiao Yi, I’ve arrived in B City."
Su Weiyi was stunned, "What? You’ve arrived in B City?"
"Yeah, just got off the plane. Are you free tonight? Want to have dinner together?"
Su Weiyi nodded, hung up the phone, and turned to Si Xia: "Sister Xia, a friend of mine has returned from the United Kingdom. I won’t be joining you all this evening."
