“Faced with the fervor of so many demonfolk, Ye Yu immediately tore open a gap in the webs above and directed the demons to begin an orderly retreat.
“Of course, leaving would not be free. You must swear allegiance to justice and earn the System’s approval—only then will I let you go. Otherwise, you think you can leave? No way!
“That one over there, I don’t believe your oath is sincere—you have no /N_o_v_e_l_i_g_h_t/ sense of justice. Get out!
“And you, you can’t even pronounce ‘justice’ properly—how am I to trust you? Scram!”
As Ye Yu released the demons, he weeded out those whose hearts were false.
Those who failed wept bitterly, their sobs serving as a warning to the others: do not try to cheat—only genuine justice would suffice.
In no time, Ye Yu’s Justice Points soared through the roof. After all, a large base makes for big gains—there was simply no better way to harvest points!
Of course, not all of Luan Yao City’s demonfolk obeyed; some cunning ones tried to force open holes in the webs above to sneak out.
But Ye Yu would not allow such cheating. He sent Qiao Wensong a glance, and the Elder easily repaired the shredded webs before tossing Shang Jinleng through one of the gaps.
At the sight of the face-spider executioner, the would-be cheaters shrieked and fled back to the queue—better to line up properly than risk punishment.
By any measure, this method might seem somewhat immoral. But so what? We’re here to farm Justice Points—no shame in that. Besides, had Ye Yu not appeared, every demon in the city would have been devoured by Shang Jinleng. Saving their lives in exchange for oaths of justice—what’s wrong with that? They ought to be grateful!
Standing aside, Nangong Jingtang sensed something was amiss and slipped to Ye Yu’s side. In a silent transmission she asked, “What on earth is happening?”
Ye Yu waved a hand. “Too complicated to explain now. I’ll tell you once this is over.”
He was busy racking up Justice Points and had no time for explanations.
Nangong Jingtang did not press the matter and refocused on the battle ahead. Though Qiao Wensong seemed to be losing ground, she could see he was unquestionably dictating the fight’s pace. It was clear the Elder was toying with Shang Jinleng—no doubt the Spider Prince felt it as well.
Failing to land a strike, Shang Jinleng staggered back and shouted to the onlookers, “What are you waiting for, you two cowards? Are you going to watch me die? And what if I do—do you really think you can both walk away unscathed?”
Before his words had even ended, Zhuo Kong and Zhuo Yi leapt to stand beside him! They had been watching the duel closely and were horrified by Qiao Wensong’s behavior—so out of character that they suspected he must be under someone’s control.
Zhuo Yi whispered this theory into Shang Jinleng’s mind. The Spider Prince sneered, “Whether he is truly my uncle or not, he has attacked me—he is my enemy! At peak Demon King Realm, the three of us together can defeat him. Let us kill him and claim his treasures as our own!”
Their words stirred desire in Zhuo Kong and Zhuo Yi—the relics of a Sanctuary Elder could not be ordinary. And Qiao Wensong would never let them leave anyway. So why hesitate? Let the battle begin!
In a flash, Zhuo Kong and Zhuo Yi struck, and Shang Jinleng charged forward fiercely.
Ye Yu watched the scene without alarm and called out, “Demon friends, here come two more Demon Kings! It’s three-on-one now—my mount won’t hold out much longer. You’d better swear allegiance to justice quickly, or you won’t be able to leave!”
The remaining demons glanced back in terror and began shouting oaths of justice at the top of their lungs—under threat of death, nothing motivates like pressure!
The System’s approval chimed repeatedly, and soon every last demon had fled Luan Yao City.
At last Ye Yu triggered the System’s anti-abuse mode: “Host detected farming of Justice Points—entering cooldown for one shi chen. You cannot earn additional points by teaching demons justice during this period.”
Ye Yu shrugged—he no longer cared. The city was empty; let it be as it may.
Glancing at his Justice Point balance—over thirteen thousand—he chuckled, “Well, that was a feast! If only I’d known sooner...”
At that moment, a figure hurtled toward him. Ye Yu dodged aside and saw it was Qiao Wensong, hurled from the battle.
“Hey—can you do anything right?” Ye Yu scolded.
Qiao Wensong beamed. “Sorry, sorry, Big Brother—wasn’t it you who told me to play weak?”
Ye Yu sighed. “Enough acting—the audience is gone. Let’s finish him off!”
With that command, Qiao Wensong’s aura shifted, and he charged forward once more.
Meanwhile, across the Demon Realm, winds rose and clouds churned—an omen of strange events to come.
