Chapter 193: Beating Some Kids

I made sure that my sister was safely behind me when the next boy came up to try and punch me in the gut.

The same result happened where a loud crack could be heard and he fell over onto the ground and clutched his wrist in pain as it was twisted at a painful angle.

Another guy thought he was being smart and tried to kick me instead and his shin smacked right into the side of my knee.

I’m just going to say... Have you ever slammed your shin against a metal pole?

Yeah... That’s basically what this guy just did.

There was another crack sound as the boy fell onto the ground with a probably fractured shin bone and started rolling around in pain.

The last boy, despite how his friends had fallen, stepped up fearlessly and gave me an uppercut under the chin.

I braced myself, only to find my head being forced upwards from his fist and the blow causing me to lean back slightly.

I was more surprised than hurt as Dan’s ability mitigated the damage so I basically took no damage from that punch but it was just unexpected that he managed to break through my defense.

Seeing that he actually made me react, the boy got the wrong idea thinking he managed to hurt me and tried to throw another punch at my face once more.

This guy must have awakened an ability that’s probably along the lines of enhanced strength as well, though it definitely wasn’t on the level of Olivia’s or even mine for that matter.

If it wasn’t for the fact that my sister was behind me, I might just allow him to keep hitting me to show him how pointless it was but I wasn’t going to let my sister get hurt because of this.

There was a loud smack as his hand slammed against my palm as I caught his punch before it could connect with my face.

I cocked my eyebrow at him, showing him that his earlier punch did completely nothing to me as well.

Now, it was either because of sheer stupidity or because he had something to prove and could not back down, he launched his other fist at me only after a moment’s hesitation.

I had the time to roll my eyes at his folly as I waited for his fist to approach my face, his knuckle travelling straight towards my nose.

But just as he was about to reach me, I slammed my head downwards quickly so my forehead smashed against his fist before bringing my head back up again.

To the untrained eye, it would look like he had hit me in the nose and I recoiled back from the blow.

The result of that was the boy’s fist being repelled and the boy falling back to land on his haunches while I was completely unharmed.

I raised my chin to look down at the boy, "Enough yet?"

He scurried a few inches back, not even able to stand after that.

I then grabbed my sister’s hand and turned to leave, only to see the girl move to block my way.

"Eh~ Where you think you going? You think you can fight like this and run away ah?"

"Step, aside," I growled.

"Or what? You going to hit a girl is it? You hit me ah! I call police! You see who they believe!"

Obviously if I were to reveal my true identity as the Mortal God, they would believe me... But I wasn’t going to expose my identity over something so trivial.

What’s more, I could see through the cafe windows that there were a few people inside who had taken out their phones and were recording us through the glass. Which was also part of the reason why I did not actively fight back against them since the video recordings would have clearly shown that these boys were the aggressors and I was the victim.

If I had retaliated, then things might become a little more complicated and my Guardians might even need to get involved which was something that I wanted to avoid.

I could definitely use the Mortal God’s authority to bail myself out of any trouble by saying that I was a Guardian of the Mortal God, but this might paint the others in a bad light as people might spread rumours that we were violent and we go around bullying kids.

Again, not really a big problem but I would like to avoid creating more problems for us if I could, especially since we would be leaving for the Mortal God summit soon and damage control would be a little difficult without us here.

I tried to walk around her but she immediately stepped out to block me again, barring me from leaving the place.

The good thing was that the other girls seemed hesitant in approaching us, probably because I just incapacitated their male friends with a few of them nursing broken bones at the moment.

I couldn’t help but let out a sigh at the trouble I got us into and turned back to face my sister who was still trying her best to shrink herself to be as small as possible.

"Ah Hui," I called out to her, prompting her to look up in surprise.

Once I got her attention, I scooped her up in a princess carry which made her let out a rather cute squeal of surprise.

With her safely nestled in my arms, I braced myself before leaping up into the air, easily flying over the crowd of girls to fly up into the air.

I stepped on the side of the building and kicked off, sailing over its roof and jumping over to the next street and landing on the pavement.

I did not stop there, however, as I jumped up into the air again, aiming for the next street and clearing over the row of shophouses before using Kris’s ability to change my gravity and lowering both myself and my sister gently on the ground.

To her credit, she didn’t scream and simply held onto me tightly, though I realised that her face was quite red.

I’m guessing she got flushed from the adrenaline of flying through the air or something so I decided I shouldn’t try to do another jump and stopped here.

"Are you alright?" I asked, watching her carefully in case she was more affected by the sudden roller coaster ride than I thought.

My words seemed to have snapped her out of it as she quickly pushed herself away to get off of me.

"I’m... I’m fine, Gor Gor! Umm... More importantly... Are you ok?"

"Yeah. They couldn’t even hurt me."

"I... I wasn’t talking about that... They... Umm... Nevermind..."

I guess she’s more shaken up than I thought.

I reached out and took her hand and sure enough, I realised she was still shaking slightly. The soft ’Eep!’ that she let out in surprise was also a clear indicator that she hadn’t recovered yet.

"Come on. Let’s take a walk. We aren’t really that far from them so we should move a little. Can you walk?"

She nodded, though she was looking at her feet so I wasn’t sure what kind of face she was making.

I led her to move further away from here, trying to put as much distance as I could between us and the cafe we had just left.

I didn’t exactly have a place in mind since all I wanted to do was to get as far away from those girls as possible.

Unfortunately, it seems like one of them possessed a flying ability as I saw one of those girls flying overhead.

I quickly pulled my sister under the roofs of one of the shophouses and pushed my sister against the wall and placed my hands on both sides of her head, using my bigger size to hide her from view.

I’m hoping that they weren’t that familiar with me yet to recognise me easily as compared to my sister whom they no doubt were more familiar with.

I held my pose as the girl spun around in the air, clearly searching for us but finding nothing before flying back the way she came.

I let out a sigh of relief before looking down at my sister who was staring straight at my chest with her face still flushed red. Her hand was even slowly reaching up as it got closer and closer to my chest.

Oh, whoops, was I suffocating her?

I took a step back and moved away from her, causing her to jerk in surprise before blinking a few times as though she just woke up.

I frowned at her, "Are you alright, Ah Hui?"

She gulped before she nodded her head quickly, "Yes!! Umm... I mean, yes! Umm... We should run, right? Before those bitches come and find us?"

At least it looks like she has returned to normal...

Anyway, I hope this at least dissuades some of those ’friends’ of hers to leave my sister alone.

Otherwise...

Like I said, only I can bully my sister. Anyone else try to do that? I’ll break them.
