Chapter 284: Chapter 173: Baron... Identity Exposed?
What’s going on? It’s only been ten or so minutes since we left the mountain. How could a Dragon Tide break out so suddenly?
The Law Enforcers at the banquet were all dumbfounded.
Although the Lidton Family Head and the Elder from Beowulf were also stunned, they methodically issued commands to their Dragon Slayers and invited the Law Enforcers to help deal with the Dragon Tide.
The Law Enforcers quickly arrived at the mouth of the valley. Professor Frankenstein, who was responsible for maintaining the stability of the Barrier at the cave entrance, said, "The Dragon Tide seems to have been startled by some sort of aura."
It was that subspecies.
All the Law Enforcers present thought of the dragon roar that had sent the Cyan Flying Dragon into a rampage.
In that brief moment of distraction, the Dragon Tide surged from the other end of the valley, closing the distance in an instant.
They were all seventh or eighth-generation breeds, with an occasional sixth-generation. They all belonged to a species known as the Thunder Wolf Dragon Beast. An inexperienced Dragon Guide must have stumbled into a small pack of Thunder Wolf Dragons in the middle circle, triggering the Dragon Tide.
The Lidton Family Head’s frayed nerves relaxed slightly.
The numbers weren’t large. It wasn’t a Dragon Calamity, just a small Dragon Tide.
The Lidton Family Head said, "I ask for your assistance."
He didn’t need to say a word. The crowd consciously parted, and Silver Lion Wilder strode out from among them, slowly drawing his sword.
Vast Spiritual Power gathered on the blade’s edge, and his amber eyes revealed a majesty that could suppress all things.
In the distance, the Dragon Tide descended like an avalanche. Here, the crowd of people surged, yet only the Knight drew his sword.
Even though the sword had not yet left its sheath, everyone present believed that no Dragon Descendant could withstand the power of this single strike.
But just then, Professor Frankenstein stopped Wilder’s imminent attack. Facing the crowd’s confusion, he pointed toward the stampeding tide of Dragon Descendants in the distance. "There are people."
Only when it drew closer did the crowd see clearly that, at the head of the Dragon Tide, a small cluster of human figures was faintly visible.
Before, they hadn’t been able to see clearly because the figures were too scattered. Now they could, and they were shocked to discover it was a large group of Trial Takers and their Dragon Guides!
Many of the Old Blood Clan Patriarchs saw that their families’ elites were among them!
How did they end up in the middle of the Dragon Tide?
The moment that thought crossed the Lidton Family Head’s mind, he heard shouts from beside him:
"Don’t swing your sword! Don’t swing your sword!"
At that moment, the Patriarchs all tried to stop Wilder in unison, while the young ladies who had come to witness the Silver Lion Knight’s prowess cried out and covered their eyes.
It was too late. The Silver Lion Knight swung his sword.
[Promise Lion Stream]
Myriad blades of light shot out from the sword, accompanied by the roars of lions.
The blades of light then danced like white birds into the mouth of the valley. As they skimmed across the ground, they kicked up great clouds of sand and rock that obscured the surging Dragon Tide.
Within a few short breaths, a torrent of blood poured out from behind the smoke, spreading across the ground like unrestrained lava.
As the Patriarchs and Elders watched, their eyes wide with horror, Wilder sheathed his sword. The amber light in his eyes faded. After a heavy sigh, he picked up the copy of *How the Steel Was Tempered* he’d been reading earlier and started silently flipping through its pages.
Complete silence.
But no one dared to shout at Wilder and demand why he had still drawn his sword.
He was the leader of the Dragon Heart Knight Order, the Silver Lion Knight destined to one day command the Holy Hall. As a Silver Tier, he already stood at the pinnacle of power on the Inner Side—to say nothing of his potential. The only remaining question was when he would inherit one of the three parts of the Templar Knight’s Law and become Gold.
As for the so-called recognition from the Law?
For the Silver Lion Knight, it was a trivial matter.
Even if you compared him to every prodigy on the Inner Side, Silver Lion Wilder would undoubtedly be the prodigy of prodigies.
The Old Blood Clan Patriarchs who had seen their own descendants being chased by the Dragon Tide wore grim expressions. But just then, the professor from Edinburgh Wizard Academy, Frankenstein, took out a Magic Card.
A Silver Mage could use a Magic Card without a staff, so long as their Magic Staff was within a hundred-meter straight-line distance.
The Magic Card lit up in the professor’s hand. Gusts of wind blew into the valley, scattering the smoke that shrouded the Dragon Tide and revealing the corpse-strewn scene within.
The Trial Takers... were completely unharmed.
Those bird-like blades of light hadn’t touched a single person.
Elder Pence’s gaze wavered. "So this is the power of the Silver Tier."
"Or rather, the power of Silver Lion Wilder," an Old Blood Clan Patriarch added.
Seeing this, the Lidton Family Head marveled at the Silver Lion Knight’s power, but at the same time, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief.
First, he was glad it was only a small Dragon Tide.
Second, he had been right to ask Wilder to come.
And third, were all Silver Tiers this strong, or was it just Wilder? If Isabella truly became a Silver Tier in such a short time, would there be any suspense left in this Trial?
But the Lidton Family Head ultimately shook his head. The suspense had ended the moment the ceremony was moved up and the Elder Council made its choice.
Compared to Isabella, Jose and Tune, who possessed family crests, were undoubtedly more likely to gain the recognition of the Dragon Spear.
After the Dragon Tide was ended, the Trial Takers, still dazed after the smoke cleared, looked at one another, assessed the situation, and weighed their options. Some continued up the mountain, while others headed back down.
Some of the Trial Takers were too gravely injured and chose to voluntarily give up on the ceremony. After they and their Dragon Guides emerged from inside the Barrier, they were questioned, and the crowd learned the gist of what had happened.
"We chose the wrong path. If we had followed Young Master Tune from the start, we might not have run into the Dragon Tide."
Several Trial Takers who had followed Jose said with great regret.
"We chose the wrong path too. If we had followed Young Master Jose from the start, we might not have run into the Dragon Tide."
Another group, who had followed Tune, expressed the same regret.
