Chapter 348: Lilith And Evan
Watching the scene, Divya’s beautiful eyes widened slightly.
Although she already knew Vikram was powerful, witnessing him shatter the arm of a Violet-Gold Zombie with a single punch was still astonishing.
Vikram smiled faintly as he looked at the Zombie clutching its ruined shoulder.
"This Zombie’s four-dimensional physique is around seventy-three points."
"And I can cripple it with a casual punch..."
A Zombie of this level would be a nightmare for almost every force in the current Wasteland World.
Yet before Vikram, it wasn’t even qualified to put up a proper fight.
The power of a casual punch was so immense that even Vikram couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement.
He remembered scanning Evan from the Official Shelter and Director Lilith from the Crimson Desire Shelter during the previous auction.
Their physiques had only been in the low seventies.
He couldn’t be sure whether they had improved over the past two days, but under normal circumstances, they would have reached, at most, around eighty points.
"That’s not right..."
Vikram suddenly frowned.
"Lilith’s physique is inferior to mine, so how did she obtain the Tsunami Wave Orb?"
"It’s a Legendary-grade item. With her physique, she shouldn’t have been capable of killing a Legendary-level creature."
Having personally witnessed the terrifying strength of a Legendary Zombie, Vikram knew that such an existence couldn’t simply be defeated through numbers alone.
"Could it be that they killed a Violet-Gold Zombie and got unbelievably lucky, obtaining a Legendary-grade item from the loot?"
He shook his head.
Unable to figure it out, Vikram temporarily pushed the matter aside and shifted his attention back to the one-armed Violet-Gold Zombie.
The higher a Zombie’s rank, the greater its intelligence.
This Violet-Gold Zombie was no exception.
Although losing an arm didn’t seem to cause it any pain, Vikram clearly noticed the hesitation in its movements.
It no longer dared to charge forward recklessly.
Instead, it cautiously backed toward the exit of the lair, obviously trying to escape.
Seeing this, Divya instinctively condensed a water blade in her hand.
Vikram noticed her movement and smiled faintly.
"Looks like it’s learned fear."
He glanced at Divya. "This one’s yours."
Divya nodded seriously. "I’ll try not to disappoint you."
With that, she stepped forward, standing between Vikram and the Zombie.
The Violet-Gold Zombie immediately let out a furious roar, its blood-red eyes locking onto its new opponent.
Meanwhile, Vikram calmly stepped aside, folding his arms as he watched.
This battle would be the perfect opportunity to see how much combat power Divya’s newly awakened Tsunami Wave ability truly possessed against a high-ranking Zombie.
"Huh?"
"The water blade... it’s become bigger?"
Divya looked at the water she had just condensed in surprise.
Compared to yesterday, the amount of water she could control had increased noticeably. The water blade was now at least twice as large as the one she had created during her first test.
More importantly, she could still feel that she hadn’t reached her limit.
Looking at Vikram, she asked curiously,
"Didn’t you say my Spirit attribute hasn’t even awakened yet? Why has my ability become stronger overnight?"
Vikram smiled.
"I only found out after unlocking the Spirit attribute myself."
"When a person’s four-dimensional physique approaches one hundred points, their body undergoes another qualitative improvement. That improvement doesn’t just strengthen the body—it also gradually enhances mental power."
"So even though your Spirit panel hasn’t appeared yet, your mental power has already started increasing."
"Oh..."
Divya nodded in understanding.
"So that’s why."
Recalling yesterday’s feeling, she concentrated once again.
Within a few seconds, the enlarged mass of water gradually compressed, transforming into a shimmering water blade.
Compared to yesterday, the blade was both larger and much more stable.
Vikram’s eyes lit up. "It really improved."
Without wasting any time, Divya pointed toward the one-armed Violet-Gold Zombie.
"Go!"
Swish!!
The water blade shot forward like a streak of blue light.
Its speed was so fast that even Vikram was slightly surprised.
In the blink of an eye, it arrived before the Violet-Gold Zombie.
Only then did the Zombie realize the danger.
It instinctively tried to dodge.
Unfortunately... It was already too late.
Swish!!
The water blade sliced straight through its chest.
A fist-sized hole instantly appeared where its heart had been.
The Zombie staggered backward, its blood-red eyes filled with disbelief.
Even Divya herself stared blankly at the result. "I... did that?"
Vikram was equally surprised. To be honest, he had been somewhat disappointed with yesterday’s test.
If Tsunami Wave had only possessed that level of power, it would have been inferior to many modern firearms, let alone heavy weapons.
But today’s attack completely overturned that conclusion.
"It seems the ability itself was never weak."
Vikram looked at Divya with satisfaction.
"The real limitation was your mental power and your control over the ability."
"As your physique and Spirit continue to improve, and as your skill level increases, the power of the Tsunami Wave will become far greater than it is now."
Hearing that, Divya couldn’t help but smile.
It seemed she had only begun to uncover the true potential of her Legendary-grade ability.
"It seems that from now on, you should take every opportunity to challenge Legendary-level Zombies," Vikram said as he looked at Divya.
"Not to mention the unknown treasures hidden inside Legendary-level Supply Boxes, just the corpses of Legendary Zombies alone should be valuable."
"I’m certain they’ll drop higher-grade physique-enhancing treasures and more Legendary Orbs with special abilities."
He smiled faintly.
"If we can obtain enough of those Orbs, why would we need to worry about the development of other forces?"
Hearing that, Divya also became excited.
After all, she had personally experienced how powerful a Legendary-grade ability was.
Her gaze shifted back to the battlefield.
The water blade that had pierced through the Violet-Gold Zombie had become much dimmer than before, but it still hadn’t dissipated completely.
Seeing this, Divya immediately understood Vikram’s intention.
She condensed another stream of water.
Within moments, it transformed into a second shimmering water blade.
Before the heavily injured Zombie could even understand what was happening.
Swish!!
The second water blade flashed past.
Its head separated cleanly from its body before crashing onto the ground.
The massive corpse collapsed with a loud thud.
"Very good."
Vikram nodded in satisfaction.
"Your control is already much better than yesterday."
The two of them searched for the Zombie’s corpse together.
Unfortunately, apart from the usual Violet-Gold Crystal Core, they didn’t find the special pearl Vikram had been hoping for.
After collecting the items from the Supply Box, Vikram and Divya left the Zombie Lair and headed toward their next destination.
—
At the same time on another Zombie Lair, hidden beneath a building that resembled a supermarket.
At this moment, two groups of people were standing outside of it. If Vikram were here, he would surely notice that the Survivors leading both teams were none other than Evan and Lilith, whom he had seen at the auction. And he even mates with Lilith.
"Team Leader Evan, is this the resource point you mentioned with two Legendary Zombies?"
Lilith looked up at the three-story building, her eyes revealing a hint of surprise.
This place covered an area of at least five to six thousand square meters.
Although this number couldn’t compare to the large shopping malls on Earth, which often spanned hundreds of thousands of square meters, for Survivors in the Wasteland, it was already a very large resource point.
If all the supplies inside could be taken, even for a force the size of the Crimson Desire Shelter, the supplies would last for a long time.
Not to mention, this was a supermarket, so it was obvious that there would be no shortage of food and other supplies inside.
Even though the gains from the previous auction had already made her Shelter not too short on supplies, food was practically gold in the Wasteland; no one would ever complain about having too much.
"That’s right, Director Lilith. So far, only our two groups have discovered this place."
"I’ve already sent a few Survivors in to scout it out, and the supplies inside are incredibly abundant."
"As for the reward issue afterward, Director Lilith doesn’t need to worry. The current problem is how to deal with the Legendary Zombies entrenched on the first and second floors."
"Director Lilith’s Shelter is quite powerful, and she also has Legendary-level items in her possession. I’m sure she has experience in dealing with Legendary Zombies."
"For this expedition, Director Lilith can take charge of the operation. Our Official Shelter is willing to follow your arrangements."
The Official Shelter, making such a grand gesture to ask the Crimson Desire Shelter for help, was naturally eyeing Lilith’s ability to kill Legendary-level entities.
If they hadn’t been unable to deal with these two zombies themselves, how could they possibly have told other forces about such a resource point?
However, Evan thought this method wasn’t a loss. The two factions were roughly the same size, and even his and Lilith’s physiques were quite similar.
If he couldn’t deal with the Legendary-level, but the other party could, there must be some special technique involved.
Once he understood and learned the technique for handling zombies, he wouldn’t need to ask others for help when exploring such resource points in the future.
Lilith nodded at his words.
"Then, Team Leader Evan, let’s go."
With almost no hesitation, she led the group of people behind her inside.
Truthfully, she wasn’t confident about dealing with two Legendary Zombies.
The Legendary-level orb she obtained before was purely by luck.
When her Shelter encountered the zombie they eliminated, that Legendary Zombie had already lost both arms, with only its two legs posing a threat.
Even so, Lilith had to send out all the capable members of her Shelter to resolve it.
