Chapter 633: Lich Capture
As the lich staggered under the relentless assault, Orion, tapping into [Angel Destroyer], infused the Carnalspear with a surge of celestial might. The weapon blazed with divine radiance, casting aside the shadows that clung to the underworld. The lich, realizing the imminent threat, invoked [Necrotic Veil], attempting to shroud himself in a cloak of spectral protection.
Orion, undeterred, brought forth the power of [Five Layered Divine Enhancements], enhancing his physical and spiritual attributes to unprecedented levels. The Carnalspear cleaved through the necrotic veil as if it were a mere illusion, striking the lich with an unyielding force. The celestial flames erupted, engulfing the undead lord in divine retribution.
The lich, now reeling from the overwhelming assault, attempted a desperate counter with [Ephemeral Grasp of the Damned], spectral hands reaching from the underworld to bind Orion’s movements. However, Orion, infused with the resilience of [Royal Flesh Manipulation], resisted the spectral intrusion and pressed on with unwavering determination.
With each successive strike, the lich’s spectral form began to fracture, the divine energies of the Carnalspear cutting through the very essence of undeath. Orion, now attuned to the harmonious blend of divine, demonic, and vampiric powers within the weapon, pressed forward with a final, resounding blow. The Carnalspear pierced through the lich’s spectral core, and a surge of celestial brilliance erupted, banishing the undead lord back to the depths of the underworld.
The underworld, once shaken by the cosmic clash, now fell into an eerie stillness. Orion, standing amidst the fading echoes of battle, held the transformed Carnalspear in hand. The lich’s defeated form dissipated into ethereal mists, leaving behind only the lingering essence of undeath. The Carnalspear, now a weapon forged in the crucible of divine and unholy conflict, pulsed with a newfound power that awaited Orion’s command.
As the lich’s spectral form dissipated, an ominous green mist and ethereal fire erupted from his skeletal remains. The cavern, once a silent witness to the celestial-undead clash, now resonated with eerie echoes as the unholy essence of the defeated lord unfurled in a macabre display.
The mist snaked and coiled through the air, twisting with an otherworldly malevolence. Green flames danced and flickered, casting eerie shadows that danced along the cavern walls. The unholy energies, once bound to the lich’s skeletal frame, now sought release, permeating the very fabric of the underworld.
The cavern resonated with spectral whispers as the unholy mist billowed and expanded. It seeped into every crack and crevice, filling the subterranean space with an unsettling presence. The ethereal flames, now a spectral beacon, cast an otherworldly glow that bathed the cavern in an eerie, sickly light.
As the mist and flames spread, the very essence of undeath lingered in the air, creating an atmosphere of lingering malevolence. The cavern, once a battleground, now bore the indelible marks of the cosmic conflict that had unfolded within its depths.
Orion, standing amidst the lingering spectral energies, watched as the green mist and ethereal flames slowly dissipated, leaving behind an afterglow of otherworldly residue. The transformed Carnalspear in his hand hummed with a resonance that echoed the demise of the lich, a testament to the weapon’s newfound powers forged in the crucible of battle.
The green mist and ethereal flames, once unleashed in the aftermath of the lich’s defeat, were drawn irresistibly toward Orion. As if guided by an unseen force, the spectral energies converged upon him, swirling around his form like a tempest drawn to a focal point. The mist, thick with otherworldly malevolence, billowed and coiled around Orion, while the green flames danced and flickered, drawn into the very essence of his being.
Orion’s reaction to this influx of power was a complex symphony of pain and empowerment. The unholy energies seeping into his body brought with them an intensity that transcended the physical, plunging into the depths of his soul. His body convulsed, wracked with the agony of ethereal forces intertwining with mortal flesh. The pain, searing and profound, echoed through the cavern, a testament to the magnitude of the spectral infusion.
Yet, intertwined with the pain was an undeniable surge of power. The green mist and flames, as they merged with Orion, seemed to catalyze a transformation within him. His eyes, once cold and calculating, now glowed with an eerie green luminosity. The very air around him crackled with the remnants of ethereal energy, and his body pulsed with newfound strength.
The Carnalspear in his grasp absorbed the unholy energies with a voracious hunger, its once crimson hue now tinted with a spectral green glow. The weapon hummed with an otherworldly resonance, resonating with the influx of power. Orion, despite the pain etched on his features, felt a surge of dominion over the energies that now coursed through his veins.
As the last remnants of the green mist and ethereal flames dissipated into the cavern’s atmosphere, Orion found himself standing in the aftermath of the spectral onslaught. The once-chaotic energies had vanished, leaving behind an eerie stillness that hung in the air. Orion, ever vigilant, checked his own status, only to realize that, to his surprise, nothing had fundamentally changed. His physical form, though tinged with the remnants of the ethereal infusion, remained unchanged.
However, just as Orion puzzled over the lack of a perceivable transformation, an unexpected development occurred. Out of the dissipating mist and shadows, a small and chibi-like form emerged—the condensed essence of the defeated lich’s soul. This diminutive version of the once-menacing undead lord appeared with a comically furious expression, his anger rendered endearing by the exaggerated features of the chibi form.
Orion, taken aback by the unexpected turn of events, couldn’t help but find the tiny, angry lich somewhat cute. The chibi manifestation of the once-mighty undead lord hovered in the air, tiny fists clenched in frustration. Despite the smaller stature and adorable appearance, the lich’s indignation remained palpable.
"What the hell..." Orion lightly chuckled.
"Don’t laugh at me!" The lich shouted, however, his big flaming green eyes weren’t very threatening.
"I didn’t expect this," Orion continued, walking around the floating lich and for some reason, he had a few instinctual feelings that rushed through his mind and body. It was almost as if he had grown a new pair of fingers on each hand.
Curiosity getting the better of him, Orion decided to test the limits of this strange connection. With a subtle motion, he reached out, the air around him shimmering with an ethereal glow. As his hand neared the chibi lich, the tiny figure was drawn into Orion’s grasp, disappearing completely from view.
At that moment, the lich experienced a surreal sensation, as if he had been plunged into an unknown abyss. Time and space seemed to warp, and the very essence of his being felt suffocated within an unseen realm. It was an unsettling experience, leaving the chibi lich gasping for air, though he wasn’t entirely sure if he had been within Orion’s body, mind, or soul.
Before the diminutive undead lord could fully comprehend what had transpired, Orion’s hand moved again, and with a gentle yet deliberate motion, he reeled the chibi lich back into existence. The tiny figure materialized once more, gasping for air as if he had just emerged from the depths of a cosmic vacuum. The bewildered expression on the chibi lich’s face spoke volumes, hinting at the mysterious journey he had just undertaken within the enigmatic confines of Orion’s being.
"D-Don’t do that again!" He shouted.
’Did it also change his personality? He seems to be a bit more... submissive? Lenient?
Orion couldn’t help but lightly chuckle once more as he soon realized the amount of information he could gain from this little guy. All the secrets of the universe and possibly ways to take down the greatest of gods.
"Don’t think you’re a hot shot now that you killed a puny Demon God!"
"What do you mean by that? Was she weak?" Orion questioned the lich, however, the lich remained silent until Orion dragged him back into his body and back out again.
"Huff... huff... huff... FINE! FINE! Ugh..." The lich caught his breath before continuing. "Yes, she was weak compared to the other demon gods. Not only is she weak compared to the other demon gods, but she is nothing compared to real gods. Don’t get a big head now that you’ve killed one..."
"Interesting..."
As Orion ascended the grand staircase of the goddess of lust’s mansion, the once opulent surroundings began to betray signs of decay. The luxurious facade that had once adorned the halls now wore the scars of conflict, with cracks and fractures snaking through the decadent architecture. The very foundation of the mansion seemed to groan under the weight of cosmic turmoil.
Reaching the bottom floor, Orion was greeted by a scene of surreal disarray. The once lavish chambers, adorned with seductive motifs, were now marred by the clash of conflicting realities. The air crackled with lingering energies from the battle, and the walls themselves seemed to pulse with the residual effects of the cosmic struggle that had unfolded.
The grandeur of the goddess’s abode had given way to a surreal dreamscape where war and seduction intermingled in chaotic harmony. Reality itself appeared to be unraveling, and as Orion navigated the increasingly unstable surroundings, he couldn’t help but feel the weight of the momentous clash that had taken place within these hallowed halls.
With each step, the mansion groaned, its structural integrity compromised by the celestial-abyssal and seductive forces that had clashed within. Orion moved through the once-majestic corridors, now transformed into a tapestry of conflicting energies. The very fabric of the mansion seemed to protest against the strain imposed by the cosmic duel, cracks widening like wounds in the flesh of the divine structure.
As he ventured deeper, the ominous cracks in the walls expanded, revealing glimpses of the chaotic realms beyond. The mansion, once a bastion of lustful allure, now stood as a testament to the violent clash of opposing forces. Orion pressed on, guided by an unyielding resolve to confront whatever awaited him in the heart of the crumbling mansion.
