Chapter 977: Chapter 426: Transaction_2

But when attacking the Dwarf Kingdom of Karak Kadrin, this Barbarian King was defeated and slain on the battlefield by the Dwarf Hero Grimbeor Iron Helmet.

Guer’s followers frantically retrieved his body and buried him on the spot.

Fifteen hundred years passed, humans rose, establishing an empire under Charlemagne’s leadership. It was during this time the Master of the Undead, Nagash, awakened. When Nagash came to the Old World seeking his Witchcraft Crown, he unintentionally discovered Guer’s tomb. The Master of the Undead was overjoyed and immediately used his powerful Undead Magic to awaken the Champion of the Four Chaos Gods, turning him into his servant, and commanded Guer to lead half of his army, taking the Undead Army directly against Charlemagne’s empire and the alliance army formed by Dwarves.

This was the Battle of Rick River.

At the end of the battle, the Master of the Undead Nagash unfortunately got too close to Charlemagne. Nagash, after all, was a Wizard and not skilled in close combat (relative to his power), and was struck down by Charlemagne using the Divine Hammer, causing the entire Undead Legion to turn to ashes.

However, a small troop of Living Dead led by Guer still survived and successfully broke through. At that time, Charlemagne was poisoned by Nagash, exhausted his strength, and had to abandon the chase.

This proved to be a terrible mistake. Guer’s Living Dead Legion destroyed every town and castle along the way, leaving countless terrifying legends.

Eventually, a recovered Charlemagne found Guer’s hideout in the Gray Mountain Range and forced Guer into a desperate situation during the Battle of Ice Lake, once again defeating the Undead Chaos Four Gods Champion. Tribe Mages then established a new tomb to seal away this fearsome Warrior.

Yet time flies, two thousand years have passed since the empire was established. The empire long forgotten where Guer’s tomb was; the ancient stories recorded in scrolls have been turned to ash or lost in repeated wars. Even within the forbidden scrolls of the Brunswick Royal Library or the Holy Relic Hall of the Justice Cathedral, there are only brief descriptions of the Battle of Rick River.

Now, Guer’s tomb is right in front of us. The Undead Grand Mage Heinrich Kemler has arrived at Guer’s tomb, recognizing its black Chaos Mark and sensing the surging Power of Chaos within.

Nothing can withstand the endless years. The seals set by Charlemagne’s Mages have long weakened with time, and the Power of the Undead and Chaos within continuously blows out towards the world through the cracked tomb door.

This is what Kemler needs. After a tragic defeat in the confrontation with Francois, the Undead Grand Mage learned his lesson. He deeply understood that facing Francois, someone not adept in close combat like himself needs a powerful Warrior to withstand the fierce attacks from the Duke of Winford to stand a chance of winning.

As long as he still wants to attack La-Mesnil Abbey and seek a way to obtain the Staff of Nagash sealed within the abbey, he will inevitably face Francois again and ultimately settle the score with the Duke.

Kemler began chanting a Spell towards the tomb door, and after two thousand years, the weakened seal instantly shattered into fragments under the impact of the Undead Grand Mage.

Guer’s remains are right in front of him. The tomb door opened wide, and the Wind of Chaos blowing from within was far stronger than before. Kemler suddenly sensed something amiss.

The Evil God is watching here. That terrifying Power of Chaos is maniacally stimulating the fragile nerves of the Undead Grand Mage. He seemed to see all things burning, lava flowing, volcanoes erupting, and Chaos Demons breaking free from the constraints of Subspace, descending upon the world. Amidst endless destruction and madness, a King of Three Eyes stood before the Chaos Altar, and below the altar, tens of thousands of Barbarians and Chaos Demons crazily shouted his name, demanding he lead them southward to destroy the world.

His name... his name is?

"Aizhen." Kemler murmured, the vision quickly fading from his mind. When the Undead Grand Mage subconsciously uttered his name, he found himself in a deep tomb, surrounded by skulls and the corpses of more than twenty Divine Chosen Warriors.

The remains of Guer, the Champion of the Four Chaos Gods, lay before Kemler, and even after two thousand years, the Barosh Armor on the fallen Champion of the Four Chaos Gods remained as bright as ever, surrounded by Chaos. His black War Axe still held the power to tear apart any mortal, Chaos seemingly displaying to mortals that darkness endures eternally, and mortal victories only ever grant them a fleeting moment of respite.

"Yes! Yes! This is what I want, Guer, rise again! Fight for me!" Kemler’s hands trembled in excitement. He staggered to Guer’s remains and began chanting Undead Magic, attempting to resurrect this Champion of the Four Chaos Gods.

"Mortal." The sudden voice halted Kemler’s attempt to chant Undead Magic. The voice was so dreadful, and in his daze, Kemler seemed to see a Supreme Being seated on the Brass Throne: "Who?!"

"Mortal, you are not qualified to command Guer. Your insignificant Mana and humble stance, along with that scarred body, doomed you as a failure, destined only to be defeated in front of the Brittania Knights." The voice, full of madness and bloodlust, continued.
