"Hey~" The female Vampire’s appearance was incredibly beautiful, but the blood on her face and her crimson eyes revealed her true nature. Two sharp fangs dripped with red blood, and a black tongue extended from her mouth, licking her lips.
Seductive yet dangerous, sharp yet powerful, her white long hair was tied into a bun at the back of her head. If it weren’t for the Vampire’s fangs and witnessing her feast on flesh, anyone would think she was a human noble lady.
"Undead! Face the Lady’s judgment!" Fidmund immediately drew his Knight’s Sword, shouting furiously, the Holy Grail Knight swore to slay the Midnight Noble in front of him.
"Damn it!" Temple Knight Alfred yelled in frustration, not expecting to face a High-Rank Vampire!
As a Temple Knight of the Justice Church, Alfred certainly knew how difficult a High-Rank Vampire could be. These creatures surpassed mortal limits in strength and speed.
The empire has several Knight Corps dedicated to fighting vampires, including the Flame Sun, Golden Scythe, Charlemagne’s Hammer, and Raven Knight Corps. Yet even these knights specialized in combating vampires must be well-prepared to fight High-Rank Vampires. Holy Water, silver swords, Divine Art, and the blessings of the Deities are all indispensable.
As for Demon Hunters, in principle, they do not accept commissions against High-Tier Vampires. If there’s news of such vampires, they report it, waiting for the Church and Knight Corps to form joint squads to tackle these formidable foes, while High-Rank Vampires often avoid trouble and steer clear of Demon Hunters.
For Holy Grail Knights, daring to directly confront High-Rank Vampires is not reckless but because Holy Grail Knights inherently possess the physique and combat capabilities to face off against High-Rank Vampires. Their existence is beyond mortal comprehension. But Alfred wasn’t a Holy Grail Knight; in such haste, he had nothing besides a small bottle of Holy Water!
"...Wait! Sir Holy Grail, we shouldn’t act rashly." Just as Fidmund was about to attack, Ollica spoke up, the Dark Elf’s expression both grim and serious. A completely dark blue Magic Staff appeared in her hand, chanting a Spell, and a purplish-black shield enveloped the three of them.
The energy of the Dark Magic made Fidmund and Alfred very uncomfortable, but evidently, the shield was useful. The Midnight Noble, who originally planned to charge forward, showed a puzzled expression, stopped her advance, and said something incomprehensible to the Dark Elf.
The Dark Elf replied.
"What are you and she talking about? Dark Elf?" Fidmund remained full of hostility towards the Female Vampire, utterly unable to accept Ollica’s attempt to communicate with the Undead: "Tell me!"
"Hey~ Stupid mortals indeed." The Female Vampire revealed a sinister smile, taking a few steps sideways and exposing the embroidered cuffs of a white shirt beneath her silk long sleeves: "Enough, a Holy Grail, a Dark Mage, I don’t wish to..."
"Destructive Magic Arrow!" Before the Female Vampire finished her sentence, the Dark Elf’s hand was already raised. A furious lightning spread from a purplish-black light orb, illuminating the entire basement as bright as daylight. In the confined space, the Female Vampire’s figure was instantly engulfed by the lightning.
"Boom~ Boom boom~" The explosion’s sound echoed throughout the basement, a piece of the ceiling collapsing, the blinding light had Fidmund and Alfred cover their eyes with their hands.
"Ugh ah ah ah ah!" Amidst thick smoke and rubble, a painful scream was heard from the Female Vampire.
"Hah, couldn’t stealthily solve this, you all, go." The Dark Elf felt no shame for her dastardly ambush, chanting a Spell, the dark blue Magic Staff vanished into the air, a pair of green daggers drawn out, held in her hands.
"Despicable!" The Female Vampire screeched, clutching the three wounds burnt by the Destructive Magic Arrow. Her figure transformed into a blood mist, rushing at the trio: "Die! Inferior beings!"
"..." Fidmund and Alfred exchanged a glance, gripping their Knight’s Sword and shield tightly.
The red blood mist swirled around the basement. Alfred focused intently, chanting Divine Art: "Fourth Ring Divine Skill! Devotion!"
Golden brilliance emerged within the basement, the God of Justice’s Divine Power transformed into flames, sweeping across the entire room. Under the indiscriminate illumination of the spell, the Female Vampire revealed her true form. Her entire face had become monstrous, the two fangs fiercely menacing, her hands bore long claws. Holding an Undead Bone Sword in one hand, she instantly appeared before Alfred. The sword’s blade was full of gaps, unknown how many mortals met their end at its edge.
Alfred clenched his teeth tightly, knowing Devotion was decent against low-level Vampire Creatures, but impossible against High-Rank Vampires. He swung his Knight’s Sword in resistance, the massive force from the blade pushed the Temple Knight off balance. He staggered a couple of steps, and as he raised his head, the Vampire’s sharp claws were already at him!
"Clang clang clang clang clang~" The Temple Knight’s shield, made of fine steel and Mithril, was torn to pieces by the Vampire’s claws. Seeing this, Alfred hesitated no more: "Holy Shield Skill!"
