Chapter 95: Can you cook?
Sebastian soon understood the kind of assistance that was required of him.
Sebastian watched as Noah took off his coat, undid the first few buttons of his shirt, and then rolled up his sleeves.
After that, he started picking up the sachet and snacks in a trash bin. He was being so meticulous about it that Sebastian found himself watching in awe.
Noah was so adept at doing house chores.
Was this what he had been up to in this household for the last few months he was missing?
How could a mighty Alpha be reduced to this?
Though Noah has asked for Sebastian’s assistance, Noah ended up doing it all by himself.
It was probably because he was used to doing it by himself while Michael was asleep that he subconsciously did the parts he wanted Sebastian to help him with.
The smell of milk going bad on the floors had been wiped with a wet mop, and the snack-stained floors had also been wiped.
After Noah was done, Sebastian practically clapped for a job well done but Noah shook his head and said,
"Did you enjoy spectating while your Alpha did all the work?" Noah asked but Sebastian did not respond.
After all, his Alpha did not give much room for him to help.
The kitchen was clean since they had already done the dishes the previous day and no more dishes were used even till now.
Then... Where was the cake?
Did Michael throw it away?
He checked the trash and fortunately, it wasn’t there. Which meant it might’ve been in the fridge.
He checked the refrigerator and found the cake intact.
He sighed in relief but also got uncomfortable knowing Michael had eaten nothing but these few snacks and milk.
It wasn’t healthy, especially since he was in his current condition.
"Sebastian," Noah called,
"Yes, Alpha Noah?"
"Can you cook?" Noah asked and Sebastian went silent for a few seconds before answering,
"Yes, sir."
"Why the long pause?"
"An audacious thought simply crossed my mind." Sebastian said, and Noah raised an eyebrow at him, wondering what such a thought was.
Sebastian did not allow him to think for too long and simply said it.
"You learned how to do chores so I imagined you would learn how to cook as well."
Noah looked away, feeling disappointed in himself as he said,
"Sadly, my limits lie in frying eggs." He said but then shamelessly said, "But I wash vegetables very well." His eyes glinted as he felt proud and Sebastian could not help but purse his lips.
He wanted to laugh. It was funny.
The mighty Alpha felt it was a proud accomplishment to know how to wash vegetables very well. Now, this was something you don’t see every day.
"Anyway, forget that." Noah said, clearing his throat to clear out the embarrassment from just now. "There are ingredients to make pancakes. There should be some honey as well."
"Should I get started now?" Sebastian asked and Noah nodded.
"Yes, please. I will take the trash out in the meantime." He said and headed out with the trash bag in his hand.
But even after he was gone, Sebastian stood there, dumbstruck.
Did Noah just use the word ’please’ for him? This... Was definitely not what he had expected from the report he got about the current Alpha.
He has changed completely but at the same time, still felt the same in so many ways.
Was it the man inside that changed him? How did he do it?
He remembered seeing Noah carrying him as if he was a child when he opened the door to take the pizza.
It was as if he was spelling it out that Michael was someone he cherished to bits so he would not tolerate any harm falling on him.
"He even reduced the Alpha to a cleaner so I can understand how much importance Alpha Noah puts on him." He thought out loud as he took off his own coat and rolled up his sleeves, wearing the apron that was hanging on the side. "Now, shall we get to work?"
Noah walked down to take out the trash and as soon as he dumped it, he looked up at the cloudy sky.
"Everything will change from now on." He muttered. "But... I don’t like changes too much."
He felt stuffy at heart. Did he have to do this?
What if he dropped his crown and decided to no longer be the Alpha of the blue moon pack? What if he just ran away with Michael instead?
Wasn’t that a better and easier option than staying to fix a pack that had such a crazy custom rooted deeply into the soil?
It might take months, no, years, to pull out the roots completely. Instead of trying to fix all that, wasn’t it better to just run away?
He sighed and started heading up.
He had met another Alpha once during a summit. That Alpha was much older than him and had gotten his female but the way he acted towards his female was completely different from what he felt was normal.
He kissed his female’s cheek, laughed with his female, and he was sure he heard him say the words, ’I love you.’
At that time, he thought that Alpha was simply weak-hearted and had been subdued with unnecessary feelings. He wasn’t normal.
But now that his eyes were open, he realized that was actually normal and the Alphas of his family were the abnormal ones.
To ensure that no more females died early, lonely and undeserved deaths, he had to pull out those roots completely.
Noah suddenly sniffed in something burning from the apartment and quickly opened the door, only to find smoke in the house. On the floor was Sebastian, and Michael was underneath him.
Noah’s eyes glazed but he couldn’t judge just because of what his eyes saw. But still, it didn’t calm the rage that had suddenly manifested through his eyes.
"What the hell is going on?!" He yelled, and Michael tilted his head back to look at Noah, who was upside down. He was just the one looking through the wrong way but still...
"Noah," Michael called. "You’re here."
