Chapter 138: What do you want?

"They’re here." The one who was on the lookout announced after rushing up the stairs. "The Alpha and Rhaeger," he was out of breath, panting heavily. "They’re coming up fast."

It was finally time.

This was the moment they had to put everything in order to make it look like a real kidnapping. So, Michael sat on the chair in the middle of the night space, and Doctor Ro tied his hands behind the chair, loosely. He put a scalpel in his hand just in case of an emergency.

The others started throwing out the noodle cups as well as the cards.

"Okay everyone, put on your angry faces. We mean business." Ramon ordered and the leader smacked his head.

"That’s my line." He said, and Ramon crept towards the corner.

It was so dark but somehow, it felt so bright. Was it because of the grey clouds or the glowing snow that was gradually falling? Or it could be thanks to the bright lights coming from the docks.

Whatever it was, it made the night less scary.

Michael stared at the falling snow as everywhere quieted down. The rogues had all hidden in the dark corners, planning an ambush so he was the only one in sight.

He had to get his act together so Rhaeger wouldn’t suspect a thing and show his true colors.

This was the real deal. Their lives depended on it.

"Michael," He heard Noah’s voice, and then his eyes widened. He turned around and found Noah panting heavily as he stared at him with widened eyes filled with relief.

Even though Michael knew it might’ve been an act, Noah, seeing the other just made their hearts cry out and the need to embrace each other sprang up, blooming like a dandelion.

"Oh, Michael." Noah rushed, wanting to quickly set Michael free, but it shouldn’t be that easy, so Michael yelled.

"Stop!" Noah immediately stopped in his tracks. "Why did you come?" He yelled. "Didn’t you know this was a trap? Why?"

"Even if it was a trap, did you think I would leave you alone in danger?" Noah asked, walking towards him in slow steps. "If it’s for you, I would walk into countless dangers, Michael. I don’t care."

"You..." Michael bit his lips, his eyes and lips quivering as tears welled up in his eyes. "You fool."

The fact that Noah meant every word of what he said made Michael tear up. Even if he hadn’t taken over the situation and gotten the rogues on his side, Noah would still have recklessly rushed into this dangerous situation like a fool and harmed himself.

It made Michael feel so awful.

"You’re such a fool, Noah." Michael said, his tears rolling down and Noah stopped right in front of him.

"Yeah, I’m a complete fool for you, Michael." He said, reaching for Michael’s face and wiping his tears with his thumb.

It was cold. If he cried like this, his tears would freeze up and cause him to feel even colder.

"Please, don’t cry." Noah said, going down on one knee. "Nothing will happen."

Then suddenly, the echo of a clapping hand rang in their ears and Noah looked up.

"Wow, what a touching reunion." That was the leader, stepping out of the shadow. "I was almost moved to tears."

"Yeah, I’m a complete fool for you." Ramon mimicked Noah. "Barf, I almost threw up because of how disgusting you sounded."

Noah stood up and looked around, paying close attention to his surroundings.

They had surrounded him and made it impossible for him to escape.

"What do you want?" Noah asked. "How dare you drag my mate into this?"

"Well, it was the only way to lure Mister Oh So Perfect Alpha out." Ramon said.

"And like you fool you are, you came running once you knew your mate was in danger." Marco added. "That’s going to be the death of you."

"Well, since you love your mate so much, just leave your heart here and we’ll set him free." The leader said. "It’s that easy."

"Are you mad?!" Noah roared at them. "Who put you up to this? There is no way mere rogues would date revolt like this."

"Well, you’re right. We’re violent but we can’t get this far without a proper plan." Ramon said. "Heh, for that we have a very valuable insider who wants to get rid of you as much as we do."

Noah squinted his eyes dangerously and asked with a deep, toe-curling voice.

"Who?"

"Wow, I got the shivers." Luke said. "His voice gave me goosebumps."

"He’s still an Alpha no matter what." Marco shrugged and then they shrugged. "But you won’t get anything out of us. Know that we have a bomb strapped to the back of your mate’s head and if you try anything funny, we will detonate it."

"No!" Noah exclaimed.

"Yes, hehehe." Ramon tittered. He was loving the role of a villain. "It’s not a very big bomb but the damage can take your mate’s head for sure."

"Why?" Noah’s hands trembled, his veins popping up on his neck and forehead. "Why are you doing this? He’s innocent."

"So what?" The leader stepped up. "The end justifies the means." He stood in front of Noah, fearlessly. They had similar builds, but Noah was bigger than he was. "It doesn’t matter what we have to do, we will make sure to take you down. If you treasure your mate just as much as you say, then give up the ultimate price to set him free. Die."

Michael’s heart was crushed. Even if this was only acting, it felt so real. They were crashing the real feelings that had tormented them so it wasn’t exactly fake.

He was being emotional.

Was it because of his pregnancy?

It was too much.

"Don’t do it." He said, his lips quivering. "Please, Noah. Don’t give your life for me."

"No, I have to do this." Noah said. "If I can’t do this for you and our child, then what sort of man am I?"

Michael’s eyes widened, as well as the others.

The mention of a child took them aback. Michael was... Pregnant?

"Still..." Michael’s eyes teared up. "I don’t want it. I don’t... I don’t want you to die."

Michael gritted his teeth and clenched his fists, keeping his eyes closed as he made his resolve.

"Will you keep your word?" He asked, opening his eyes. "How can I trust that you will let my mate go once you have stopped my heart from beating?" He sounded like a man ready to die.

A desperate man who would do anything just to keep his loved one safe.

"I’ll swear upon my code that I won’t touch a strand on his head." The leader pronounced and Noah nodded. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

He turned to Michael who wouldn’t stop crying.

"Hey, hey, it’s alright." Noah said, brushing his hair. "It’s fine."

"No, no, it’s not fine." Michael shook his head. "It’s not fine. You’re going to die."

"And you’re going to live." Noah said, trying to assure him with a smile. "You’ll live a long life with our child. I want you to remember me and..."

"Shut it! Who said you can decide that?!" Michael yelled at him. "Who said you could die on your own? If you die..." He bit his lip. "I’ll go with you."

"Nonsense. Do you plan to kill our child along with you?" He asked. "You have to live. I’m making this sacrifice because I want you to live."

"No, I don’t... I don’t want to live. Not without you." Michael insisted, and Noah got up.

"Hey, someone come take this guy back." The leader called, and Doctor Ro walked out and carried Michael, along with the chair, and moved him back, but Michael struggled.

"No, let go. You can’t die Noah. You can’t." He yelled and then Noah smiled at him.

"It’ll be fine." He said and then turned to the leader. "You can have it."

"Jeez, I thought I was going to be waiting forever." He let out his claws and then struck Noah’s chest. "I guess this is goodbye."

Michael saw this and yelled in horror.

"Nooo!!!"

Noah collapsed and that drew the curtain to that act.

"I guess that settles things. We’ve finally gotten rid of the Alpha of the blue moon pack. This is cause to celebrate," they began howling in victory but at that time, Rhaeger stepped out.

He saw the bunch of rogues howling in victory, Noah on the floor and Michael crying his heart out.

"Oh, you’re here?" The leader turned to Rhaeger. "You’re late. We already did the deed. Thank you for your assistance."

Rhaeger had no reason to doubt the entire process.

"I see you indeed have." Rhaeger said, his grin spreading all over his lips. "You’ve taken out the Alpha that I have oh so long to get rid of. Muhahaha." He laughed dubiously.

"Well, the deal’s done, so we can part ways now." The leader said but Rhaeger’s eyes fell on Michael.

"Hm? What about that one?"

"What about him?"

"You have to get rid of him to get rid of the evidence." Rhaeger said.
