Chapter 823: Chapter 824 – Dragons. Allies or traitors? – Part 5.

(What the hell is going on?!) – thought panicking and confused dragon king Goror as he was searching his mind for the answers nonstop.... But no matter what he did, the results were the same.

(Name. Face. Appearance... I can’t remember any of these?!)

"..."

"I see." – said Oron.

"You are victim as well."

"!?"

"Victim?! Wha the hell are you talking about?! WHAT DO YOU KNOW?! ASNWER ME!?" – shouted the dragon king.

"Answer my fucking question first." – said Oron.

"Name."

"Appearance."

"Face."

"Do you remember any of these."

"Yes or no?"

"..."

"No." – said the dragon king.

"I don’t remember any of these."

"..."

"Here." – said Oron as he took out a small notebook from his inventory.

"You should read this."

"...."

The dragon king glared at the notebook with suspicious, using his magic detection skills and smell to inspect the book from the safe distance... But not detecting any danger.

"..."

The dragon with long limbs transformed into his humanoid form, revealing his elf like form with a long green beard and white hair alongside somewhat human like 40s age appearance.

"Put it down and back away." – said the dragon king is elf form.

"Will do." – said Oron as he fallowed the order and put down the notebook on the grass before then backing away, allowing the dragon king to safely retrieve the notebook and then open it.

"..."

"..."

"Hey.... What is the meaning of this?" – asked the dragon king as he read the notebook.

"Just as it says." – said Oron.

"I was spying on."

"Specifically, I was gathering information about that fiancé."

"But no matter who I asked."

"No matter who I investigated."

"The results were the same."

"The fiancé was there, but nobody knows anything about her, as if she never existed."

"However, people do know that she was once here."

"But no matter what I did, they had all the same answer."

"They couldn’t recall anything about her."

"You are free to conduct your own investigation regarding this matter yourself; I can wait if you want."

"But I’m going to say this straight."

"No matter what you will do."

"The results will be same."

"But hey. Your decision."

"I can wait."

"..."

(What is the meaning of this?) – thought the dragon king who couldn’t hide the panic in his gaze.

(Is it true!?)

(Nobody remembers her?!)

(But how is this possible?!)

(Is this a trick?! Maybe he is trying to.... No. It was way too specific question....)

"..."

"I’m going to say this straight." – said Oron.

"I’m suspecting that fiancé of his to be one responsible for what the mad prince did."

"..."

"You.... Do you mean it?" – asked the dragon king while still looking through the notes.

"Put the two and two together, why don’t you." – said Oron.

"Your son was once a beloved man by his people."

"And yet, out of nowhere, he did something completely out of character for him."

"Not only that, there is also a question regarding the fiancé who nobody knows any details of."

"Who was she?"

"Was she even there?"

"Was there even any fiancé in the first place?"

"And when exactly did she disappeared?"

"Before or after the prince went mad?"

"That is my question."

"And that is what I want to know."

"And depending on this result, your clan may be cleared of any suspicious of being the traitors of the empire."

"..."

(What is going on?) – thought the dragon king who still couldn’t wrap his head around.

(Fiancé.... Was she.... Were we really played from the start?!)

(Was this situation really manipulated!?)

(I wondered all these years, why my son did that!)

(He told me about the balance, but was that truly it?!)

(He was no fool!)

(WAS NEVER A FOOL!)

(And yet, for him to act in such mindless manner....)

(But... What the hell is this.... Why didn’t I noticed something as odd as this?!)

(ME!?)

(THE DRAGON KING!?)

(Forget not trusting that guy! Something isn’t right with my memory!)

(Manipulation! Somebody manipulated my memories?!)

(When?! How?!)

(Is this his doing?!)

(But.... No!)

(Something happened!)

(The reason why my son betrayed the empire!)

(Is there a chance that somebody manipulated his mind? Just as they manipulated the minds of my people?!) – thought the dragon king as he was staring at the notebook, not knowing what to say.

...

But he knew what to feel.

Anger.

Oron could clearly tell.

That the king was currently beyond pissed off.

"..."

"What the hell do you know?" – asked the dragon king as his mana started leaking out from his body as he could no longer contain his anger.

"I don’t know anything, that is why I’m investigating." – said Oron.

"And the only real clue that I have obtained so far, is the thing you are holding in your hands."

"..."

"I see." – said the dragon king as his anger still couldn’t be suppressed, causing wind and plants to somewhat start acting up around the dragon.

"..."

Dragon king took a deep breath, somewhat calming down his mana.

"..."

"I’m going to ask you this again." – asked the king as he tried somewhat calming down.

"Do you not intend to reveal your name or who do you serv?"

"No." – replied Oron.

"Because I don’t trust you."

"And you are still the suspect."

"But then again." – said Oron as he took out a spare communication orb from his inventory.

"You can have this."

"..."

"Communication orb." – said dragon king.

"You want to stay in contact?"

"It depends on what you want." – replied Oron.

"Then again, we both want the truth."

"Why did the prince went mad?"

"Was it somebody pulling the strings?"

"I only want this truth, nothing else."

"If you want to do it on your own, then be free."

"I will continue my own investigation."

"Decide if you trust me and then maybe we will work together."

"..."

"Fine." – said the dragon king.

"Anyway, my second question-"

"Wait, we are still doing this?" – asked the dragon king as he cut off Oron.

"I mean, I get two and you get two, wasn’t that what we agreed on?" – said Oron.

"...Ah..."

(Wow, I’ve already forgotten about this.) – thought the dragon king.

"Fine... What is your second question?" – asked dragon king.

"..."

"Why did Wo’won clan representee came here?" – asked Oron.

"..."

"I can’t say anything." – said the dragon king.

"..."

"Okay. Fine. Talk over." – said Oron as he handed over the communication device.

"!?"

"Wait?! You give up like this?!" – asked the extremely confused dragon king.

"Of course." – replied Oron.

"I mean, there is no way I can force you to speak without straight up beating the answer out of you, but I don’t really want to use force... So yeah, I give up getting that answer."

"End of the story."

"I gave you the communication orb and you answered one of the most important questions... So yeah."

"Unless you want to continue the game?"

"..."

"No." – replied the dragon king.

"I want to end it too."

"Perfect, then goodbye." – said Oron as he nonchelated left the room. before moments later Oron was allowed to freely leave the castle without being held back or anything.

"..."

(WELP! THINGS GOTTEN WAY MORE ANNOYING!) – thought Oron as he hid his presences with stealth type skill, before then sprinting away and making as much distance from the castle as possible.

(It didn’t looked like he was lying... Nah, the panic in his eyes was real.)

(But... One thing is attacking random nobodies, and another is attacking a freaking dragon like him with mind manipulation attacks.)

(I’ve even asked Blueberry to look it up, and she confirmed that the dragons, especially like the dragon kings should have high resistance to any form of mental manipulations....)

(That means they must had done something special... Or used some kind of extremely powerful stuff in order to affect them.)

"..."

(Still, it is not just him.)

(All the people of the territory forgotten about the fiancé’s identity.)

(Did everybody from empire had forgotten her identity?)

(If so... Then it just makes things way more complicated.)

(But still, the dragon king will be on the move now.)

(...)

(Still... What was Wo’won clan doing here?)

(I thought he would break under pressure and surge of emotions.... But he kept it together.)

(But why?)

(Suspects of treason.)

(Manipulation.)

(He has two "daggers" that are pointing at them....)

(Maybe he trusts them? Maybe they have already somewhat strong relationship?)

(He did gave up straight up no.)

(...But from what I heard, there was really nothing like this going on, to the point where the people are talking about.)

"..."

"Then again, they were showing off the carriage today.... Ah, fuck me, the hell is going on?" – said Oron to himself as he found himself somewhat good spot to hide and quickly take out his map.

(Honestly, things are somewhat getting annoying, especially with Wo’won clan acting this fucking annoying way.... But still, I’m moving forward.)

(And I may have obtained the lead that could reveal the traitors of the dragon empire.)

(The fiancé.)

(But there are two questions right.)

(How was she forgotten?)

(And who exactly is she?)

(There is no way that she is nobody.)

(The dragon king was also target of amnesia.)

(If that is the case, then either that fiancé had a powerful backing of a one of the dragons.)

"If not being straight up part of one."
