Chapter 819: Chapter 820 – Dragons. Allies or traitors?

"Still freaking nothing." – said annoyed Oron to himself.
(I’ve been here already for around 2 months, but I still couldn’t find any hints, traces or anything that would point out to the treason.) – thought Oron as he was exploring the city.

(Thanks to this kit I’m somewhat able to hide myself.) – thought Oron as he was looking like a dragonewt instead of his usually hellish elf form with multiple eyes.
(I have also few other skills that allows me to hide.... And for the good reason.) – thought Oron as he walked past a group of armed soldiers.
(The security of this place is really high!)
(No freaking wonder here, considering what happened recently.)
(A large scale brawls had been happening here recently between the two clans.)
(The Muwi clan and Wumi clan.)
(From what I’ve had gathered, these clans originally were part of a single larger clan that ended up destroyed, resulting in two clans being born after the survivors split.)
(However, from what I know, they were really not hostile to each other.)
(Or more exactly, they were on extremely friendly terms, a family kind of relationship.)
(Their split wasn’t really made because of hostility or anger....)
(But the current city?)
(This city is neutral, but many members from both clans do gather here.)
(And you can see the big hostility here between these two clans which should be extremely close to each other.)
(According to the info I’ve had gathered, the relationship between the two clans was one of the best in the whole empire.)
(But about 5 years ago, the situation took turn for the worse.)
(A discovery of the Platinum Mithril.)
(Mithril... The most classic legendary metal in any fantasy.)
(It is present in this game and it has many variants.)
(But the platinum mithril is one of the most overpowered materials in the whole game.)
(The value of even single box filled with this thing is straight up overwhelming, that many players can’t even attempt to reach it.)
(And the Muwi clan discovered that veins in one of their old mines.)
(Obviously that meant riches! Overwhelming riches!) – thought Oron as he saw a brawl happening in the street between two lizardmen.
(But then disaster struck.)
(The mine was completely obliviated.)
(Countless miners alongside the mine itself were completely destroyed.)
(But who did it?)
(The Wumi clan did it.)
(Or more exactly, the previous successor to the dragon throne of the Wumi clan.)
(He used the artifact of the Wumi clan to annihilate everything and cause this genocide.)
(But why?)
(His reasoning?)
(Balance.)
(In the past both Wumi and Muwi clans were one of the strongest clans in the dragon empire, because they cooperated with each other.)
(However, if that power balance were to tip over, the alliance may end up being destroyed and the two clans may truly separate.)
(And the weaker clan, without the support of their counterpart, may end up falling to destruction.)
(And so, in the total desperation, the previous successor, the prince, ended up destroying the mine and causing mass scale genocide.)
(It took few months, but he was found out.)
(It obviously caused huge outburst, since that mine would not only benefit the Muwi clan, but the empire as a whole.)
(So all the clans got pissed off.)
(However, the new revelation then came to the light.)
(Muwi clan was having an extremely hard struggle financially.)
(They were keeping it quiet in order to not stress out the people or worry their brothers in arms... So when the mine was destroyed and the genocide was left behind, it was obvious what was going on.)
(This wasn’t just betrayal.)
(It was straight up attempt at murder of the whole Muwi clan.)
(Obviously the whole dragon empire ended up forcing Wumi clan to take responsibility for the whole thing.)
(The dragon prince who did it was executed.)
(And Wumi clan had to gave up some portion of their riches to the Muwi clan.)
(However, they had nowhere near enough to pay up the damage.)
(But still, the mine was repaired and it was discovered that the vine somewhat survived the blast from the artifact, resulting in the Muwi clan somewhat being able to not only stand up, but also getting somewhat richer in the process.)
(And Wumi clan?)
(It was left not only poor.)
(But that idiotic prince was the pride of the Wumi clan.)
(And he bellowed by his family and people.)
(However, because of his crimes, the people were forced to execute him, even as he begged to not to do it.)
(...And that is the story.)
(The damage that this idiotic prince was beyond comprehension, to the point that it made both clans straight up despise each other from the bottoms of their hearts.)
(Still, it was a doing of a one man and the Wumi clan wasn’t really on board with this either.)
(But... As the time would go by, the rift would only just get bigger and bigger.)
(And about year ago, things started being way more chaotic between the two clans.) – thought Thanatos as he left the area while the soldiers stepped in and stopped the two lizardmen as soon as they drew out their weapons.
(Honestly, it looks like they would go at the war with each other at any point and the only real thing holding them back is the dragon empire.)
(And that is an opportunity.)
(The traitor may attempt at contacting one of these clans, aiming to form an alliance, in exchange of providing them help.)
(Honestly, this whole story about the idiotic prince causing the freaking genocide and attempting to destroy the mine is somewhat... Sus.)
(I mean, he did it, he did caused the genocide.)
(But I’m talking here more about the prince.)
(I’ve looked into him, and apparently he wasn’t really an "idiot".)
(And yet, for him to do something retarded as this?)
(Yeah... I wouldn’t be surprised if somebody had a hand in the prince’s action.)
(That means the rebellion was aimed to happened long time ago, if that is the case, specifically 5 years ago, before the dragon king who we are allied with had contacted us.)
(...But... I couldn’t find anything.)
(There are some dragon clans that are contacting the two clans... But nothing in form of a massive scale, like military actions and what not.)
(I couldn’t also find anything odd about the prince’s past, like weird contacts and what not.)
*Sigh*
(By the looks of things I will have to investigate directly both clans.)
