Chapter 386: Chapter 385- Hatred (2)
The emotions were so intense that even Grey could clearly sense the shadow’s desire to tear the enemy apart with its own hands.
At the same time, another piece of information arrived.
The target’s location.
Near the shore of Port Thirty-Three.
The cultivator was currently fleeing, attempting to escape Sky Mist City before anyone could discover his identity.
Grey remained silent.
Without uttering a single word, he simply took a step forward.
The instant his foot landed, his figure vanished from where he had been standing and reappeared several meters ahead, suspended effortlessly in mid-air. His expression remained emotionless, yet beneath that calm exterior, an overwhelming killing intent churned within his heart.
He took another step.
His figure disappeared once again before reappearing dozens of meters farther ahead, crossing an astonishing distance with nothing more than a casual stride.
At first glance, it looked as though Grey had activated some profound movement technique. In reality, he had done nothing of the sort.
He was neither relying on his terrifying speed nor circulating his cultivation base to propel himself forward.
Instead, he was simply walking.
Ever since breaking through to the Foundation Establishment Realm, the concept of ordinary movement had changed entirely for him. Every casual step he took covered an incredible distance, allowing him to traverse the skies as though the empty air itself had become solid ground beneath his feet.
Without even entering his Special Brilliance form, Grey calmly walked toward the Dead Sea.
His pace was unhurried.
His breathing remained steady.
Yet every step carried an invisible pressure that caused the surrounding spiritual energy to ripple faintly, as though even the heavens could sense the killing intent hidden beneath his calm demeanor.
Behind him, Violet silently watched for a brief moment before following.
She lightly stepped forward from the shore, and her graceful figure floated into the air before quickly catching up.
As a Foundation Establishment cultivator, flying through the sky was no different from walking on land.
Her beautiful eyes rested on Grey’s back.
She could clearly sense the murderous aura radiating from him.
Although his expression remained calm, she knew he was genuinely furious.
It was a rare sight.
’What could have angered Little Grey this much?’ Violet wondered inwardly.
For a brief second, she instinctively reached for an apple before stopping herself.
Now was clearly not the time.
Suppressing the urge, she increased her speed and continued after him.
Ahead of her, Grey’s figure continuously vanished and reappeared with every step he took.
Each stride carried him dozens of meters forward.
The distance between them and the edge of Sky Mist City rapidly shrank.
Although he was not using any movement technique, the power granted by the Foundation Establishment Realm alone allowed him to cross what would once have been an insurmountable distance within a remarkably short time.
It was as though space itself willingly folded beneath his feet.
---
Far away, near the outskirts of Sky Mist City, a lone cultivator sped across the sky.
His sleeves fluttered violently in the wind.
Both of his arms were gone.
Blood had long since stopped flowing from the wounds after he had sealed them with spiritual energy, yet the empty sleeves were enough to reveal the miserable state he had been reduced to.
In order to survive, he had abandoned everything.
His magic ship.
His treasures.
Even the resources he had accumulated over many years of cultivation.
The moment his assassination had failed and the terrifying purple sword nearly killed him through the connection with the bizarre existence, he realized he had made a catastrophic mistake.
He had gravely underestimated Grey.
If he remained in Sky Mist City for even a little longer, death would undoubtedly await him.
Therefore, the instant he escaped the backlash, he fled without the slightest hesitation.
Unfortunately for him, escaping Sky Mist City was easier said than done.
The city possessed strict regulations regarding cultivators entering and leaving its territory.
Every foreign cultivator had to verify their identity before they could safely pass through the city’s protective formations.
Normally, this process was completed through one’s magic ship, which automatically displayed the owner’s identification token upon approaching the city gates or boundary formations.
But now...
His magic ship was gone.
He had abandoned it in his desperate attempt to survive.
Without it, he would have to personally present his identification slip before the city’s defensive arrays recognized him.
Otherwise, there was a very real possibility that the formations would mistake him for an intruder and eliminate him before he could even escape.
The cultivator’s expression grew increasingly ugly as countless thoughts raced through his mind.
Just as he was desperately trying to think of a solution—
A chilling sensation suddenly crawled up his spine.
It felt as though an invisible pair of eyes had locked onto him.
His entire body stiffened.
His heart skipped a beat.
Almost instinctively, he turned around.
The moment he looked into the distance, the color completely drained from his face.
Fear.
Disbelief.
Terror.
All three emotions appeared simultaneously.
A familiar figure was calmly walking across the sky.
Every casual step caused him to disappear before instantly appearing much closer than before.
The distance separating them was shrinking at an alarming speed.
"How...?"
"How did he reach this place so quickly without activating his Special Brilliance form?"
"And... how did he even find me?"
The cultivator’s voice trembled uncontrollably.
Panic began consuming him.
He had deliberately concealed every trace of his aura before fleeing.
By all logic, Grey should have had no way of locating him.
Yet Grey was coming directly toward him without the slightest hesitation.
What the cultivator failed to notice was the darkness beneath the sea below him.
Deep beneath the waves, a pitch-black shadow silently lurked.
Its body resembled a withered tree several meters long, its countless barren branches stretching through the water without a single leaf growing upon them.
At the center of the twisted tree rested a single blood-red eye. It looked like a terrifying Bizarre existences itself.
The eye remained completely fixed on the fleeing cultivator.
Madness swirled within its crimson depths.
So did overwhelming hatred.
The shadow did not forgot the humiliation of being torn apart.
And now...
It had finally found the one responsible.
