Chapter 371: Chapter 370- Same Picture

Realizing that Violet had nothing particularly meaningful to add, Grey shifted his attention back to Bao, who was still waiting expectantly for his response.

"Have you finished the magic ship?" Grey asked.

Bao immediately nodded several times.

"I have," he replied. "But before I hand it over to you... allow me to modify it one more time using Violet’s idea. I truly believe it’ll be of great help to you."

There was a trace of pleading in his voice as he glanced toward Violet, hoping she would help persuade Grey.

However, Violet merely spread her fair hands helplessly and shrugged.

Her gesture clearly conveyed that the decision was entirely Grey’s.

Grey narrowed his eyes slightly.

"What kind of modification?" he asked.

Bao scratched the back of his head before shaking it.

"I can’t explain the exact details yet," he admitted. "Not because I don’t want to tell you, but because I haven’t completely worked everything out. However, I can promise you one thing."

His eyes shone with confidence.

"It’ll greatly improve your magic ship."

Grey remained silent for several moments.

He carefully considered Bao’s proposal.

Originally, his goal had always been to make the magic ship as powerful and advanced as possible.

If Bao genuinely believed this modification would improve it further, then there was no real reason to refuse.

After a brief moment of thought, Grey gave a slight nod.

"Very well."

Bao’s face immediately brightened.

"How much will it cost?" Grey asked after another short pause.

Bao answered almost without hesitation.

"Not much. Just four thousand Spirit Stones."

The excitement on his face became even more obvious.

Since Grey had asked about the price, Bao naturally interpreted it as acceptance.

Although the amount caused Grey’s eyelids to twitch slightly, he still paid the four thousand Spirit Stones without any hesitation.

His remaining wealth had decreased considerably.

Even so, Grey didn’t appear the least bit bothered.

To him, resources were meant to be exchanged for strength.

As long as the results justified the cost, Spirit Stones could always be earned again.

After completing the payment, Grey shifted his gaze toward Violet before directing his next question at Bao.

"What about the captain?" he asked calmly.

"Is she modifying her magic ship as well, or did she simply come here to sell you ideas?"

"Tsk."

Violet clicked her tongue before pretending to look offended.

"Little Grey, do you really doubt me that much?"

She folded her arms across her chest.

"Since I’m the one who came up with the idea, of course I’d be the first person willing to invest in it."

She proudly lifted her chin.

"Besides..."

"Four thousand Spirit Stones aren’t nearly enough to scare me away."

Grey merely nodded in acknowledgment.

After speaking with Bao for a few more minutes regarding the estimated completion time, he finally turned around and prepared to leave.

Since he couldn’t collect his magic ship today, there was no reason for him to remain inside the warehouse.

Besides...

From the burning excitement in Bao’s eyes, Grey could already tell that the man desperately wanted both of them to leave so he could immediately begin working on his newest project.

The blueprint seemed to be calling his name.

"Wait, Grey!"

Violet quickly jumped down from the wooden barrel.

Without another word, she hurried after him.

"You’re heading back to the Detective Agency, aren’t you? Let me come with you."

Grey didn’t even turn around as he continued walking out of the warehouse.

Behind them, Bao watched the two disappear through the entrance.

A faint smile unknowingly appeared on his face.

However, the smile only lasted a brief moment.

The instant he remembered the improvements he wanted to make, his entire expression became serious.

He immediately spread out the blueprints belonging to Grey’s and Violet’s magic ships across the worktable.

Picking up his drawing tools without wasting another second, Bao immersed himself completely in his work.

---

"You’re heading back to the Detective Agency, right?" Violet asked after catching up with Grey.

"It’s been quite a while since we’ve actually walked together."

As she spoke, the breeze gently swept several strands of her silver-white hair across her face.

She casually tucked them behind her ears with practiced elegance.

The simple movement, though ordinary, carried an indescribable charm.

Anyone fortunate enough to witness the scene would likely be left staring absentmindedly.

Grey gently shook his head.

"I plan to purchase some poisonous materials first," he replied calmly.

"After that, I’ll return to the Detective Agency."

"I see. So you’re still making poison."

She could remember the first times that Grey and her met. At that time, Grey liked to dispersed poison wantonly all over the place.

It was particularly because of this reason that she avoided staying too close to him. Afraid that he may sprinkle poison without her knowledge.

But hearing that he was actually going to buy materials to concoct more poison actually made her more curious instead of cautious.

"Yes. I still use poison. Although it won’t cause great harm to Spirit Core Formation realm experts at this level, it’s already potent enough for Foundation Establishment." Grey said in a low voice like he didn’t want to be heard.

"But after what happened with the World where the dead Soul Ascendancy realm expert was, my poison was more or less useless. So now, I want to improve it as much as I can."

Violet paused for a second before nodding and naturally falling into step beside him.

She had already finished the apple she was eating earlier and now leisurely walked with both hands clasped behind her back.

It did not matter if Grey was going to concoct poison or not, since he had already stated his reason for doing so, then it was not really her concern anymore.

Neither of them spoke for a while.

They simply walked side by side through the bustling streets of Sky Mist City.

Every so often, a gentle breeze would pass between the buildings, lifting Grey’s grey hair and Violet’s silver-white hair simultaneously.

The strands danced lightly in the wind before slowly settling once again.

Neither of them paid the slightest attention to it.

Their footsteps remained calm and unhurried as they continued walking through the crowded streets.

To the countless pedestrians around them, the pair appeared strangely harmonious.

Anyone who happened to witness them walking together would instinctively feel that the two looked exceptionally well-matched, as though the quiet youth and the carefree captain naturally belonged in the same picture.
