Chapter 365: Chapter 364- Mountains And Seas

Although all of these events seemed to have taken quite some time to unfold, in reality, everything had occurred within the very instant the battle officially began.

In the blink of an eye, the disciple appeared before the Frost Angel cultivator and threw out a powerful punch. His speed was astonishing despite the fact that he had yet to activate his Special Brilliance form.

For the briefest of moments, a trace of surprise flashed across the Frost Angel cultivator’s face. However, it disappeared almost as quickly as it had appeared.

At the same time, the crimson streak that had shot out from the disciple’s storage bag arrived before the Frost Angel cultivator’s face, aiming directly for his eyes with terrifying precision.

Although the attack was incredibly fast, far faster than the disciple himself, the Frost Angel cultivator’s perception was even sharper. His eyes effortlessly followed the movement of the crimson streak, allowing him to react before it could reach him.

However, he only had enough time to deal with one of the two incoming attacks.

He could either evade the disciple’s punch or avoid the crimson streak rushing toward his face.

It was an almost perfectly synchronized assault that left virtually no room for hesitation.

Yet, instead of panicking, a faint smile appeared on the Frost Angel cultivator’s face.

He calmly leaned his upper body backward by a mere fraction, just enough for the disciple’s fist to narrowly miss its intended target. At the same time, his arm moved with astonishing fluidity as his fingers shot forward and effortlessly caught the crimson streak between them.

Bang!

The disciple’s fist slammed squarely into the Frost Angel cultivator’s chest with tremendous force.

Yet the impact seemed to accomplish absolutely nothing.

The Frost Angel cultivator’s body did not even tremble. It was as though the punch had landed against an immovable mountain rather than a human body.

His gaze remained fixed on the tiny crimson creature trapped between his fingers, a gentle smile still resting on his face.

"I can now see the source of your confidence... and why you dared challenge me despite not having awakened your Special Brilliance form."

"With this mutated insect, you can launch surprise attacks that are both incredibly difficult to defend against and nearly impossible to evade."

As he spoke, his body casually swayed to the side, causing the disciple’s fist to brush harmlessly past his robe as the latter attempted to follow up with another strike.

Only now could everyone clearly see what the crimson streak truly was.

It was a blood-red wasp no larger than a finger.

Its tiny crimson eyes glowed with intense bloodlust, while a faint yet sinister aura continuously seeped from its body. Even though it remained perfectly still, simply looking at it filled one’s heart with an inexplicable sense of danger.

It was obvious that this was no ordinary insect. Just the intense malicious intent coming from it was enough to let anyone know that it was different.

Seeing his treasured red wasp restrained so effortlessly, the Sky Mist disciple’s expression instantly changed.

Shock filled his eyes.

His attack had been meticulously planned.

He had deliberately launched his punch and released the wasp at almost the exact same moment, ensuring that his opponent would be forced to choose between defending against the fist or the concealed insect.

Even if the opponent had chosen to dodge the wasp instead, it possessed astonishing speed and unmatched agility. It could alter its flight path in an instant, pursuing its target relentlessly before delivering a fatal sting before they even realized what had happened.

That was the true terror of the mutated insect.

Even a cultivator who had already activated their Special Brilliance form would find it extremely difficult to avoid such a perfectly coordinated attack.

Yet the Frost Angel cultivator had not only seen through the trap immediately, but had also caught the blood-red wasp with nothing more than two fingers, making the disciple’s carefully prepared killing move appear laughably insignificant.

’Dammit! He restrained the red wasp!’

The Sky Mist disciple cursed inwardly as he immediately retreated several steps.

Without the mutated insect, he stood virtually no chance against this opponent.

Time and time again, he had relied on the crimson wasp to defeat cultivators who were far stronger than himself. Countless battles that should have ended in his defeat had instead become victories because of the tiny creature.

Its stinger contained an exceptionally potent poison capable of killing an ordinary Foundation Establishment cultivator within minutes.

Even if the victim managed to react quickly and consumed antidotes or used spiritual energy to suppress the poison, they would still end up severely weakened. At the very least, they would become partially paralyzed, while those with weaker cultivation bases would be left completely unable to move.

Once that happened, finishing them off was an effortless task.

Although his fighting style differed greatly from that of ordinary cultivators, it had allowed him to survive countless life-and-death battles and steadily climb all the way to the Foundation Establishment Realm.

The red wasp had always been his greatest trump card.

Now that it had been captured so effortlessly, his confidence immediately plummeted.

Knowing he had no time to hesitate, the disciple instantly abandoned any thoughts of retrieving the insect.

Instead, he decided to unleash the strongest technique in his arsenal in hopes of buying himself enough time to escape—or, if fortune favored him, to briefly stun his opponent.

He knew he had only a single opportunity.

His previous attacks had been casually brushed aside without the slightest effort.

Even more terrifying was the fact that his opponent had not activated his Special Brilliance form, nor had he displayed any profound martial techniques.

He had relied solely on the strength of his physical body.

Yet that alone had completely overwhelmed him.

Taking a deep breath, the Sky Mist disciple’s eyes flashed with determination.

"Mountains and Seas Art... Fake Illusions!"

His shout echoed throughout the battlefield as his hands rapidly formed one seal after another.

His fingers blurred from their incredible speed before he suddenly pointed one hand toward the heavens and the other toward the earth.

At that instant, spiritual energy surged violently from his body.

The surrounding atmosphere distorted.

A massive illusion suddenly materialized high above the Frost Angel cultivator.

It resembled an enormous mountain descending from the heavens.

Although it was not a true mountain and was only about the size of a hill, its overwhelming presence made it appear incomparably majestic. It seemed as though it carried the weight of countless tons, enough to crush everything beneath it.

At the same time, the earth beneath their feet underwent a dramatic transformation.

The solid ground disappeared without warning, replaced by a vast, endless sea.

Towering waves rose into the sky as seawater stretched to every horizon.

The crashing tides roared deafeningly, threatening to swallow everything in existence.

The illusion was so lifelike that anyone witnessing it for the first time would undoubtedly believe that both the mountain and the sea had truly manifested.

For an ordinary cultivator, even realizing that everything before them was an illusion would take precious moments.

Yet from beginning to end, the Frost Angel cultivator remained completely calm.

Not even the slightest ripple appeared in his expression.

He merely glanced at the descending mountain before calmly taking a single step forward.

Boom!

The moment his foot landed on the ground, an invisible pressure spread outward in every direction.

The illusionary mountain immediately trembled before countless cracks spread across its surface.

An instant later, it exploded into countless fragments before dissolving into specks of light.

At the same time, the endless sea beneath his feet violently rippled.

The towering waves froze in place before evaporating into nothingness as though they had never existed.

In less than a breath, both illusions completely disappeared.

The battlefield returned to normal.

The Frost Angel cultivator had shattered the Sky Mist disciple’s strongest technique with nothing more than a single step.

The Mountains and Seas Art...

Had utterly failed.
