Chapter 343: Chapter 342- A Scam! (4)
He felt as if he had been targeted by an overwhelming force, one that could neither be seen nor resisted.
As the coin continued to rotate, the steel dirk slowly turned until its blade pointed directly at the middle-aged man.
The woman spoke in a low, inaudible voice.
The steel dirk hovering above her head suddenly shot forward at breakneck speed.
Its blade sliced through space itself, appearing before the middle-aged man in an instant. At such a close distance, he could clearly see the cold sheen reflecting from the razor-sharp edge.
An intense feeling of danger immediately surged through his heart.
Yet just as the dirk was about to pierce his body, the middle-aged man suddenly severed one of his own hands and muttered a series of complicated and indecipherable words.
The pitch-black sea beneath them began to boil violently.
The waters churned and surged before a grotesque mountain of flesh emerged from the depths. It stood several dozen meters tall, resembling a small hill made entirely of corpses.
Upon its surface lay countless dead creatures. Human remains were mixed together with the bodies of strange beasts and unknown creatures. Decaying limbs, shattered bones, and rotting flesh were piled together in a horrifying display.
The sheer number of corpses was enough to form an entire mountain.
As the steel dirk descended toward the middle-aged man, a single severed head suddenly floated upward and intercepted it.
Bang!
The head exploded instantly.
However, before the dirk could continue forward, several more decayed heads rose into the air and charged toward it.
One after another, they sacrificed themselves to delay the attack.
Looking at the disgusting mountain of corpses, the woman couldn’t help but frown.
"Such a vile and disgusting art. You deserve to be cleansed."
Her cold voice echoed across the surrounding sea.
The moment she finished speaking, several more ancient coins floated into existence and began rotating rapidly.
One side of every coin bore the image of the woman herself.
The other side displayed a weapon.
A spear.
A sword.
A dagger.
A halberd.
A saber.
The moment the middle-aged man saw the growing number of coins, a terrible feeling rose within his heart.
The steel dirk was still busy destroying the endless corpses being thrown at it when several more weapons materialized above the woman’s head.
At first, their sharpened tips pointed toward her.
Then the coins stopped rotating.
As though receiving a command, every weapon turned simultaneously and pointed directly at the middle-aged man.
An even stronger feeling of life and death immediately erupted within him.
The murderous aura radiating from those weapons was enough to make even someone at his level tremble.
"W-Wait! Senior... we can talk about this..."
The middle-aged man hurriedly spoke.
However, the woman’s expression suddenly changed.
Her aged appearance rapidly began to reverse.
Wrinkles disappeared.
Her skin became smooth and flawless.
Her graying hair regained its youthful luster.
Within moments, the middle-aged woman had transformed into a young lady with an exceptionally beautiful face.
Yet despite her beauty, her expression was devoid of warmth.
Only coldness and cruelty remained.
It was only now that the middle-aged man finally realized who she was.
His eyes widened in horror.
’No! It’s her! The woman from Sky Mist City who is rumored to have reached the threshold of the Nascent Soul Transformation Realm!’
The middle-aged man screamed inwardly.
Sky Mist City was filled with crouching tigers and hidden dragons.
Among them, this woman was one of the most terrifying.
Her techniques were strange, mysterious, and incredibly difficult to counter.
Moreover, every time she became younger, her cultivation base would increase dramatically.
The youngest anyone had ever seen her was when she appeared as a thirteen-year-old girl.
At that time, her cultivation base had already surpassed the Spirit Core Formation Realm and stepped into the Nascent Soul Transformation Realm.
Even though the middle-aged man possessed considerable strength, he was nothing before a true Nascent Soul Transformation expert.
Such a person could kill him before he even realized what had happened.
The moment he recognized her identity, all thoughts of resistance vanished.
Although her cultivation base currently fluctuated only with a trace of Nascent Soul Transformation power, Nascent Soul was still Nascent Soul.
Furthermore, the poison within his body continued to wreak havoc.
Even if he wanted to fight, he could not unleash his full strength.
’Damn that insolent rat!’
The middle-aged man cursed inwardly.
’He actually forced me into such a predicament!’
His eyes became bloodshot with rage and humiliation.
After spending days chasing a mere Foundation Establishment cultivator, not only had he failed to capture Grey, but he had also suffered severe injuries and provoked an enemy he never should have offended.
The more he thought about it, the more it felt as though everything had been carefully planned from the very beginning.
As if Grey had been toying with him.
"Dammit!"
Without another word, the middle-aged man turned and fled.
Negotiation was no longer an option.
Unfortunately for him, before he could move even an inch, every weapon hovering around the young woman vanished.
The next moment, they appeared directly before him.
Stab!
A spear pierced through his shoulder and burst out from his back.
The middle-aged man’s eyes widened in shock.
A sword descended toward his neck.
He attempted to dodge, but before he could move, several daggers stabbed into his body from different directions.
Three more flew toward his head.
He narrowly avoided two of them.
The third plunged directly into his eye.
"ARGHHHH!"
The middle-aged man’s scream echoed across the sea.
In desperation, he summoned even more flesh mountains from the depths below.
However, they were utterly useless.
The steel dirk was already slicing through them as quickly as they emerged.
Despair slowly began to fill the middle-aged man’s heart.
Everything had started because of Grey.
In his panic, he hurriedly produced a relocation talisman and crushed it between his fingers.
Before the talisman could fully activate, several weapons shot forward and instantly mangled his hand.
Blood sprayed through the air.
Spatial fluctuations erupted around his body.
The middle-aged man’s figure distorted before disappearing entirely.
However, the weapons did not seem satisfied.
With a simple nod from the young woman, they immediately turned and flew toward the direction where they could still sense his presence.
Only after they vanished did the young woman shift her gaze toward the location where Grey had teleported.
Her eyes became noticeably colder.
"You certainly have some nerve for putting my disciple in such a state."
Her voice was calm.
Yet beneath that calmness lurked an unmistakable killing intent.
"Even if you are a disciple of Sky Mist City, this matter will not go unpunished."
As soon as she finished speaking, her figure gradually faded into thin air.
Moments later, she reappeared at the location where Grey had teleported.
Her icy gaze swept across the vast surface of the Dead Sea as she searched for any trace of him.
