Chapter 281: Chapter: 280 The slumber of Fate..will soon be over.
As Jasmine and Kavin entered eight months of secluded cultivation, another place far beyond the knowledge of mortals remained as silent as it had for countless ages.
It was a mysterious and seemingly endless expanse where darkness ruled over everything.
There were no stars to decorate the void, no land upon which one could stand, no sky overhead, nor any visible source of light.
The darkness itself seemed almost tangible, swallowing everything that entered it.
It was not merely the absence of light but something far deeper, as though even existence itself had been devoured until nothing remained except an endless black abyss stretching beyond all perception.
Within that boundless darkness sat a solitary figure.
Whether it was a man or a woman was impossible to determine. The darkness concealed every feature, every contour, every trace of their body until they resembled nothing more than an indistinct silhouette.
Even their shape refused to remain fixed, becoming increasingly difficult to perceive the longer one attempted to observe it. Only two things could be seen with certainty.
Long strands of blonde hair flowed gently behind the figure, their once radiant brilliance having faded into a dull, lifeless color countless ages ago.
Beneath that weathered hair rested a face hidden almost entirely by the darkness, save for two empty eye sockets from which thick crimson blood flowed without pause.
The blood never ceased. It quietly streamed down their face before vanishing into the endless darkness below, as though the void itself eagerly consumed every drop.
The figure sat upon an enormous throne forged from an equally mysterious black substance.

Strangely, although the throne itself remained perfectly visible, the one seated upon it continued to defy perception. It was as though the throne acknowledged its master while reality itself refused to do the same.
One could clearly tell that someone occupied the seat, yet no matter how closely they looked, their appearance remained forever obscured, leaving only the faded golden hair and those empty bleeding eye sockets visible within the darkness.
From what could only be imagined as the figure’s hands extended countless glowing threads of every imaginable color. Crimson, silver, emerald, sapphire, violet,
gold, and countless shades that had no name intertwined together before spreading endlessly throughout the boundless void.
Every thread shimmered with an overwhelming brilliance capable of blinding anyone who dared gaze upon them.
An ordinary mortal would likely lose both their mind and soul from witnessing such a sight, unable to withstand the incomprehensible information carried within each strand.
Yet despite radiating enough light to blind creation itself, not a single thread managed to illuminate the surrounding darkness.
The light simply existed, swallowed by the void before it could spread even an inch beyond itself. It was almost as though the darkness possessed a higher authority than light itself.
The countless threads remained firmly gathered within the figure’s grasp, stretching into infinity where even perception failed to follow.
"It seems... they have arrived."
A hoarse voice suddenly echoed throughout the endless darkness.
The voice carried neither joy nor anger. It was completely neutral, devoid of emotion, yet beneath that neutrality rested an exhaustion so profound that it could not be concealed.
It was the weariness of someone who had waited far longer than any living being should have been capable of enduring.
Every word sounded ancient, as though countless eras had weathered the speaker before those simple syllables were finally spoken.
"It’s about time... you make your move... Nether."
Silence followed.
There was no way to measure how long that silence lasted. Within this place, the concept of time no longer held any meaning.
A single heartbeat could have stretched into centuries, while entire millennia might have passed in the space between two breaths.
Past and future overlapped freely, making every moment impossible to distinguish from eternity itself.
Eventually, another voice answered.
Unlike the first, this voice was gentle beyond description.

Every syllable carried warmth, affection, and a quiet tenderness that contrasted completely against the endless darkness surrounding it.
It was soft enough to soothe even the most tormented soul, yet hidden beneath that gentleness lingered an unmistakable burden.
"I know..."
The voice paused briefly before continuing.
"We are close. However, we cannot simply allow them to enter without facing the difficulties that were prepared for them. The Strings had already spread throughout the world before the seal was strengthened once again.
During the brief moment when its power weakened, a path was woven between them. If we allow them to proceed without following the path intended by those Strings..."
The gentle voice grew quieter.
"...they will die."
Silence lingered once more before the voice continued.
"And do not forget... our influence does not extend across the entire world. The remaining gods still exist, and they are already aware of the intended path. Should we abandon it now, they will undoubtedly intervene. We cannot afford that."
The tenderness within the voice never disappeared, yet every word carried a quiet certainty.
"So... wait a little longer."
"And bear with it."
"Haah..." A long, weary sigh escaped the figure seated upon the throne.
The sound echoed endlessly through the darkness, carrying a heaviness that seemed capable of crushing entire worlds beneath its weight.
"It seems... that is the only way..."
The hoarse voice faltered slightly before continuing.
"However... hurry..."
"It is becoming... harder... for me... to hold on."
Another pause followed.
"After... her powers... were taken away..."
"I cannot... hold him... for much longer."

The affectionate voice remained silent.
For what felt like an eternity, nothing answered. Only after that immeasurable silence did it finally speak again, though this time the warmth within it was accompanied by unmistakable heaviness.
"Just hold on... for a little longer."
"We’re almost there."
The voice faded away as quietly as it had appeared, leaving behind only endless silence.
Darkness reclaimed everything once more.
The countless threads continued to stretch into infinity.
The blood continued to drip endlessly from the empty eye sockets.
The lone figure remained seated upon the throne without moving even once.
Only a final whisper drifted through the endless void.
"The slumber of Fate..."
"...will soon be over."
