Chapter 320: A Father’s Worry
A Father’s Worry
"Miss Felberta, since you’re already here, why don’t you rest in my office for a while?"
She smiled politely.
"I’ll finish things here first, then I’ll come entertain you properly."
Bianca genuinely wasn’t good at dealing with people who carried such cold, distant personalities.
Felberta’s calm silence always made conversations feel slightly awkward.
It seemed better to let her relax in the office first before discussing whatever business had brought her here.
The entire room waited quietly for Felberta’s response.
For several seconds...
Only silence remained.
Finally...
Felberta slowly shifted her gaze away from Bianca.
Her crimson eyes settled directly on Julian.
Without hesitation...
She spoke in her usual calm, emotionless voice.
"I have business with him."
Felberta pointed calmly toward Julian D’Aurelius. Her voice remained as cold and composed as ever, carrying no unnecessary emotion.
The atmosphere inside the temporary studio became strangely quiet.
Director Miss. Svensson exchanged glances with several staff members before tactfully waving everyone back to work. No one dared interrupt the conversation between these influential figures.
Bianca De Dominicis arched a delicate eyebrow ever so slightly.
A faint ripple of curiosity passed through her crimson eyes.
Business with Julian?
She found it somewhat unexpected.
The Ashbourne family’s eldest daughter was famous throughout Silverhaven City for her distant personality and severe discomfort around men. She rarely spoke to any man unless absolutely necessary.
So what could possibly bring her here specifically for Julian?
Still, Bianca quickly dismissed any unnecessary suspicions.
She knew Felberta’s condition better than most.
A woman who couldn’t even comfortably stand close to men certainly wasn’t here because of romantic feelings.
Remaining calm, Bianca turned toward Julian.
"Then accompany Miss Felberta to my office first. I’ll come find you both later."
Her voice was gentle but carried the confidence of someone accustomed to making decisions.
Julian looked between the two women, still completely confused.
He had absolutely no idea why Felberta wanted to see him.
Even so, refusing would only make things awkward.
"Alright."
Julian nodded before walking toward the exit beside Felberta.
As the two left the conference room together, silence lingered behind them for several seconds.
Only after the door gently closed did Luka De Dominicis finally let out the breath he had been holding.
His brows furrowed deeply as he turned toward Bianca.
"Daughter, what’s going on?"
His voice carried unmistakable concern.
"Isn’t Julian already engaged to that girl from the Aurevale family? It wouldn’t be good if today’s events got out."
As a father, he wasn’t worried about gossip alone.
He feared his daughter might become emotionally involved with someone whose future was already tied to another woman.
Bianca crossed her arms and leaned casually against the table nearby.
Unlike her father, she appeared remarkably unconcerned.
"What’s so bad about it?" she asked with a shrug.
"They aren’t married yet."
She spoke matter-of-factly.
"People have been free to choose who they love for years now."
A faint smile tugged at her lips.
"Besides..."
"Their engagement will fall through sooner or later."
Her confident tone caught Luka completely off guard.
He stared at his daughter in disbelief.
"How can you be so certain?"
Bianca simply smiled without answering.
She couldn’t possibly explain the truth.
She knew this world far better than anyone else.
She knew it was built upon the events of a novel.
She knew many things that hadn’t happened yet.
Most importantly...
She knew Julian and Selene Aurevale’s engagement was destined to collapse.
It wasn’t wishful thinking.
It was simply how the story was originally written.
Of course, she couldn’t reveal any of that.
Seeing his daughter remain silent, Luka sighed heavily.
He rubbed the bridge of his nose before speaking with unusual patience.
"Listen to your father."
His tone softened.
"I can tell Julian is a bit of a playboy."
Images from just moments earlier flashed through his mind.
The two dancing.
Holding each other.
Almost kissing.
Even if Julian came from the prestigious D’Aurelius family, Luka couldn’t pretend those things hadn’t happened.
He looked directly into Bianca’s eyes.
"He’s not a suitable match for you."
Bianca couldn’t help laughing softly.
There wasn’t even a trace of anger in her expression.
Instead, she looked at her father with amused eyes.
"Then who is a suitable match for me?"
Her question left Luka briefly speechless.
He hesitated only a moment before a smile slowly spread across his face.
"Of course..."
"It’s Young Master Zyan from the Ashbourne family."
He nodded confidently.
"You know their family’s conditions."
As he spoke, admiration filled his voice.
"The Ashbourne family of Silverhaven City is the wealthiest household there."
"Their assets are several times greater than those of our De Dominicis household."
"And Zyan Ashbourne is Dario Ashbourne’s only son."
"That means one day..."
"The entire Ashbourne family’s fortune will belong to him."
Luka’s eyes brightened as he imagined the possibility.
"If our De Dominicis household could become related to the Ashbourne family through marriage..."
"It would be an opportunity countless households could only dream about."
Several nearby employees quietly lowered their heads.
No one dared interrupt.
Business alliances through marriage weren’t unusual among influential households.
To Luka, he was simply considering what he believed would provide his daughter with the most secure future.
Bianca listened patiently until he finished.
Then...
She burst into a helpless laugh.
"Him?"
Her expression became one of complete disbelief.
"With that face?"
She shook her head without the slightest hesitation.
"No thanks."
Her answer was immediate.
Firm.
Completely uncompromising.
Then she looked directly at her father before delivering the final sentence that left him utterly speechless.
"If you really fancy him, let that girl marry him and stop bothering me."
