Chapter 55: 55 | Staff Girl Asked if I Was Single and My Master’s Face Went Dark
Both of them got into one of the cars in the garage and drove out of the mansion. She sat in the front and stared out the window.
"Where are we going?" She asked without turning her head.
"Starline Plaza." Dante replied.
That got her to turn. "Why not the Raven Mall?"
"Because it’s yours, Master. If you go there, people will recognize you instantly and won’t leave us alone. We can’t shop in peace." Dante said with a helpless face.
’Besides, we’re going on a date! I’m not letting any vermin interrupt this precious day.’
Natasha wanted to argue but she couldn’t because he was right. Even if she told them to leave her alone, they would just be overly conscious of her presence the entire time.
Starline Plaza was one of the biggest commercial complexes in Tempest Bay. Shopping, dining, entertainment, everything under one roof.
More importantly, she wouldn’t be recognized that easily.
Natasha stepped out of the car, put on her hat, and immediately went into mission mode.
"Let’s start with your clothes." She said, walking briskly toward the men’s section of the first store she saw.
The speed she was moving at made it clear she had one goal: buy what they came for and leave.
Dante had an amused look in his eyes as he watched her go. ’Hehe, Master, are you rushing to get this done so we can have more quality time alone?’
No matter what she did, he wasn’t planning to let her leave that easily.
Natasha started pulling things off the racks without even looking twice. But every piece she picked had a similar pattern.
Large shirts, baggy pants, oversized jackets. Every single one was at least three sizes too big.
Dante looked at the pile forming in her arms with a speechless expression. "Master, are we shopping for me or for a tent?"
"Your clothes are too tight on you." She said with a straight face. "Go on, try these."
’My clothes are fine, lady. Just say you’re scared of my muscles.’ Dante thought, but he kept that one to himself.
He stepped out of the fitting room wearing the first outfit Natasha picked. The shirt hung off him like a curtain and the pants had enough room to fit another person inside.
He looked like a kid who raided his dad’s closet.
"Master." Dante stared at her with a face that said ’are you my master or my enemy?’
Natasha, however, burst out laughing the moment she saw him. She covered her mouth. "Hahaha!"
She stopped after a while since Dante was still staring at her.
She felt a little guilty and avoided his eyes. But she genuinely didn’t know much about men’s clothes.
When she turned, she noticed a staff member looking in their direction. She immediately signaled her to come over.
A young girl with a name tag that said "Yuna" walked over.
"Excuse me, ma’am. Do you need any help?" She looked at Dante and the clothes he was wearing, then back at Natasha.
"Yes, can you help pick out some clothes for him?" Natasha said.
"Of course, ma’am." Yuna nodded and got to work.
What followed was thirty minutes of Dante walking in and out of a fitting room in outfit after outfit while Natasha and three staff members sat in chairs like a judging panel.
The problem was that he looked good in everything.
Every time he stepped out, the staff exchanged looks with each other and then turned to Natasha like they were waiting for her reaction.
Natasha struggled to keep a normal face. She had lost count of how many times her heart skipped a beat.
’Stop looking at me! I’m not his girlfriend. I’m his master.’ She screamed inside while giving a thumbs up.
A few minutes later, Yuna leaned over to her coworker and whispered something. The coworker giggled. Then Yuna walked up to Dante with a sweet smile.
"These all look amazing on you. You must work out a lot." She tucked her hair behind her ear. "By the way, are you seeing anyone? My friend thinks you’re really handsome."
The temperature in the room dropped the instant those words left her mouth.
Natasha’s face went dark.
Before Dante could even open his mouth, she answered for him.
"He has a girlfriend." She said with a smiling face.
Yuna blinked and took a step back. "Oh, I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to—"
"It’s fine. We’ll take all of them." Natasha said, standing up. "Let’s go, Dante."
Dante followed her out with bags in both hands and a teasing grin forming on his face.
’Since when did I have a girlfriend, Master?’
The same question was going through Natasha’s head.
She didn’t know what came over her. The words just left her mouth before she could stop them.
’I should be happy if someone is interested in him! Why did I do that?’ She questioned herself, scrambling for any excuse she could find instead of facing the truth.
The truth that she was jealous.
As she dug through her excuses, Emma came to mind. But that only made it worse for her.
She knew very well that Emma and Dante had liked each other ever since they were young.
As a master, what was she doing right now?
Not only was she attracted to her own student, it was the same man that another one of her students had feelings for.
She had been trying not to think about this, but she was already getting jealous of other women without even realizing it.
The mental defense she had spent three days building didn’t even last two hours. Her mind was descending into absolute chaos.
And she hadn’t slept a wink last night. It was all getting to her.
Once they were outside the store, Natasha’s pace picked up again.
"Alright, we’re done. I have plenty of dresses at home. Let’s head back."
"Already?" Dante stopped walking. "We just got here, Master. Since we came all the way out, why don’t we spend some time here? Walk around a bit."
"There’s nothing here that interests me." Natasha said in an irritated tone, already turning toward the exit. "These kinds of places are for normal—"
Her steps came to a sudden stop.
A blue screen had appeared in front of her eyes.
