Chapter 191: Chapter 144: She’s Hideously Ugly, Nothing Compared to Her Sister

When they decided to go out wearing this "bloodline sharing" makeup, the two of them already had a story prepared. Jiang Yunnuan skillfully recited it now.

Hearing her words, Fu Yuan waved his arm, and a pair of soft yet massive ink-blue wings appeared behind him.

The feathers on the wings were arranged in dense, orderly rows and shimmered with a glistening luster. They looked both mysterious and beautiful—absolutely gorgeous. The wings stirred slightly, kicking up a light breeze.

Jiang Yunnuan raised an eyebrow, looking triumphantly at Jiang Wanwan.

"Did you get a good look? Tell me, after leveling such a serious accusation against us, how do you plan to apologize?"

"You can’t blame me for this. If you have to blame someone, blame your own makeup for being too realistic."

Seeing the wings with her own eyes, Jiang Wanwan dispelled all her doubts and tried to defend herself.

With a mere thought, Fu Yuan retracted his wings, his eyes narrowing as he fixed them with an oppressive gaze.

"So, is it a crime for my Nuannuan to be too good at makeup?"

"No wonder you suddenly got so pretty. Hah, so it was just makeup. A monster hiding behind a painted face. What’s there to be so smug about?"

Bai Luo scoffed, his expression of awe as he looked at Jiang Yunnuan quickly morphing into disdain.

"Whether I’m pretty or ugly has nothing to do with you. Did I ask you to look at me? You’ve been staring at me for nearly twenty minutes since you walked in. I haven’t even charged you a fee yet, so what are you doing trying to make a scene?"

Jiang Yunnuan fought the urge to slap him.

She finally understood why Si Xie loathed this brat so much. He was truly insufferable.

It was a good thing Si Xie was in seclusion. Otherwise, with this kid having just broken through to the Returning Origin Stage, if he fell into Si Xie’s hands today... given their combined new and old grudges, wouldn’t Si Xie have cracked his skull open and broken all his bones?

Hearing her words, the youth’s eyes widened. He stared at her in disbelief before lashing out in a furious voice.

"You were looking at me too, weren’t you? If you weren’t looking at me, how would you know I was looking at you?" 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

"An excellent point. We have surveillance footage as proof. I looked at you for less than two minutes in total, while you stared at me for over twenty. So, tell me, what are we going to do about all that extra time?"

Jiang Yunnuan let out a cold laugh, then tapped on her Light Brain to pull up the courtyard’s surveillance feed, projecting it into the air.

The high-definition, enlarged projection was perfectly clear. The angle was excellent, too, showing that Jiang Yunnuan’s line of sight was fixed on Jiang Wanwan almost the entire time.

This was because she had been bickering with Jiang Wanwan for nearly the entire duration.

Bai Luo, on the other hand, had been staring at Jiang Yunnuan in awe before getting slapped. Even after receiving two slaps, he started sneaking glances at her again the moment Jiang Wanwan’s attention shifted to her.

At first, they were just stolen glances, but soon he was staring openly, not even blinking.

With the video as proof, he had no way to deny it. His face instantly flushed crimson. He looked desperately toward Jiang Wanwan, only to see her staring at him with a terrifyingly dark and dangerous expression.

His heart gave a hard thump, and he rushed to explain.

"Wanwan, I was only looking because her makeup was strange! I’ve never seen anything like it, so I was just curious. It’s not because she’s pretty. She’s ugly as sin, not even close to being as beautiful as you."

"Is that so? But to me, the look in your eyes on that video didn’t seem like curiosity. It looked more like awe and infatuation."

A mischievous smile played on Jiang Yunnuan’s lips as she maliciously poured fuel on the fire. The white-haired, cat-eared youth was so furious he looked like smoke was about to pour from his ears. He whipped his head around and glared viciously at her.

"Don’t be so full of yourself! Everyone in the entire Empire knows what a hag you are. How could I possibly be infatuated with you? I wouldn’t be, even if I were blind!"
