Chapter 207: Chapter 207: I Never Owe Favors
The girl in red looked up at Shen Daoxing. "You saved me?"
Shen Daoxing nodded and briefly recounted what had happened after she fell unconscious.
Without another word, the girl in red suddenly picked up the Treasure Sword beside her and offered it to Shen Daoxing. "This sword is for you."
Shen Daoxing glanced down. It was a long, red sword with an extraordinary aura, shimmering with brilliant light. One look was enough to tell it was no ordinary Treasure Sword.
But Shen Daoxing already possessed the Great Ming Demon Sparrow—ranked second among all Ancient Demon Soldiers—and had no need for other weapons.
"I don’t need this sword," Shen Daoxing said.
The girl in red said coolly, "I don’t like owing favors."
With that, she gave Shen Daoxing no chance to refuse. She got right out of bed, walked out of the room, and headed for the exit.
"The Xu Family’s men are all over outside. You haven’t recovered from your injuries. It’s dangerous to go out now," Shen Daoxing reminded her kindly.
However, the girl in red gave no response and walked out resolutely.
Not long after she left, a cry of alarm rang out from the alley outside. "It’s you... you demoness! Everyone, get her! Avenge our Xu Family Descendants!"
This was immediately followed by miserable screams as several sprays of blood shot high into the air.
But after the screams faded, a dull THUD echoed out, as if something heavy had slammed into the ground.
Shen Daoxing sighed and shook his head. He walked out of the courtyard and saw the bodies of several Xu Family Descendants lying silently in the alley. In front of them, the girl in red was once again sprawled motionlessly on the ground, unconscious.
Shaking his head again, Shen Daoxing picked her up, carried her back to the room, and placed her on the bed. He then went back out, dealt with the men in the alley, and buried them all in the courtyard.
This time, the girl in red woke up quickly.
Seeing her awake, Shen Daoxing tossed the Treasure Sword to her. "You need this more than I do."
The girl in red glanced at the Treasure Sword, then back at Shen Daoxing. "I will definitely repay this favor."
This time, the girl in red didn’t insist on leaving. Instead, she sat cross-legged on the bed to meditate and heal her injuries. She now understood that her wounds could not be neglected any longer.
Afterward, Shen Daoxing returned to the inner room to continue his cultivation.
CREAK!
The courtyard gate was pushed open, and Yi slowly walked in.
When he entered the room, he saw the girl in red cultivating on the bed.
Yi was slightly taken aback. "So you’re a fellow practitioner."
He then circled the girl in red, looking her over again. "Well, well, you demoness. Since you’re awake, why haven’t you left yet?"
Hearing the word "demoness," the girl in red frowned and opened her eyes. Seeing it was only a child, she paid him no mind and closed her eyes again to continue healing.
Seeing the girl in red remain unmoved, Yi grew bolder.
"Aha, demoness, you’re still not leaving. You got a thing for my Shen?" Yi started chattering from the side. "Let me tell you, don’t even think about it. Shen already belongs to my big sister."
The girl in red frowned but didn’t open her eyes, concentrating on her healing.
At this, Yi grew smug and continued, "Don’t think you can steal Shen from my sister just because you dress a little nicer and you’re a little stronger than her. I’m telling you, no way!"
The girl in red frowned but still didn’t open her eyes, remaining focused on her healing.
Yi became even more relentless. "Just give up! Shen isn’t interested in you. He’s already taken! If you know what’s good for you, you’ll leave quietly!"
Yi prattled on, buzzing incessantly in the girl’s ear.
Finally, her brow furrowed, the girl in red could bear it no longer and snapped her eyes open.
Yi jumped in fright and quickly hopped back a step. He said warily, "What? What are you gonna do? You wanna fight? I’m telling you, I’m Mr. Ge’s disciple now. I’m not afraid of you!"
With that, Yi stood straight and assumed a perfect martial arts stance. "Alright, then I’ll let you have a taste of the new skills I just learned."
Immediately, Yi thrust out a palm, a blazing flame erupting from it as he struck.
The girl in red merely shot Yi a sidelong glance, and in an instant, the fire on his palm was extinguished.
Then, the girl in red reached out and lifted Yi up like he was a little chick.
SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!
Her palm landed heavily on Yi’s bottom.
Even though it was just an ordinary spanking, Yi found it excruciatingly painful.
After just a few smacks, he couldn’t take it anymore, and tears welled up in his eyes.
"Ah... Stop! Stop hitting me! I give up! I’ll never say anything about you again, sister! I won’t say any more bad things! Sister, you can stay here for as long as you want!"
With tears in his eyes, Yi begged for mercy again and again.
Yi pleaded for quite some time before the girl in red finally stopped spanking him.
Then she casually tossed Yi aside.
Yi fell to the floor, scrambled to his feet, and his expression immediately changed. "You mean demoness!" he said defiantly. "Don’t think you’re so great just because you’re older than me! You just wait! When I’ve mastered my martial arts, we’ll fight again!"
With that, before the girl in red could make a move, Yi scurried away and darted out of the room.
Just then, Shen Daoxing came out of the inner room. Seeing Yi’s hastily retreating figure, he looked puzzled. ’Why is Yi in such a hurry?’
The girl in red didn’t answer, only shooting Shen Daoxing a cold glance before closing her eyes. She could finally heal in peace.
Shen Daoxing scratched his head, feeling rather baffled.
Shen Daoxing then left the courtyard. The food in the house was gone, and he needed to go out and get more. With two people living there now, they would need a larger supply.
Out on the main street, Shen Daoxing saw several Xu Family Descendants hurry past him. It seemed the Xu Family had tightened their search of the town.
Shen Daoxing went to the west market, bought some essential rice and meat, and picked out some vegetables.
Because Taoyuan Town was so unique, even this ordinary food contained a considerable amount of Primordial Energy, which was beneficial for cultivation.
Shen Daoxing finished buying his food.
"HYAH!"
An angry shout rang out.
Shen Daoxing looked toward the sound and saw a burly, white-haired, yet vigorous old man riding a spirited steed, flying through the sky as it trod upon the clouds.
The people of Taoyuan Town all cried out in amazement, calling him an Immortal.
However, the old man seemed to be in a rush, descending toward a spot on the east side of town.
And behind him, Xu Family Descendants were running frantically on the ground, trying to keep up.
Shen Daoxing gave it only a single glance before looking away. It was better for him to stay far away from the Xu Family; he didn’t want to get into any more trouble. With that, he turned and headed back to his residence.
He hadn’t walked more than a few steps before he saw three young Xu Family Descendants walking toward him.
Shen Daoxing felt that the face of the man in the lead looked somewhat familiar.
