Chapter 72 - Divorce

Lilia didn't know how long she had been sitting at the window of her former room, gazing outside. The mansion's exterior was beautiful—something she had never truly paid attention to before—but her mind was elsewhere. Distant. Detached.

Thoughts swirled in her head, a tangled mess of memories. But at some point, it felt like she wasn't thinking at all. Just... existing.

A soft knock at the door broke the trance. She didn't need to guess who it was.

Evie.

"You can tell them to pack everything, Evie," Lilia said softly, her gaze never leaving the view beyond the glass.

But then—she felt it.

A presence.

The scent of a familiar cologne drifted into the room, threading through the air like a whisper. Her body tensed before she could process why. Then—

A hand. Warm, strong fingers wrapped gently around her neck, lifting her chin so she was forced to look up.

Her breath hitched.

Zethan.

His name rang through her mind, sharp as a blade.

She hadn't even heard him enter. Hadn't sensed him until it was too late.

Their eyes met—hers wide, startled, his unreadable. The intensity in his gaze sent a shiver down her spine.

This position... it was too intimate.

Just as she parted her lips to protest, he let go, his touch disappearing as quickly as it had come. But instead of stepping back, he moved closer, settling onto the window ledge in front of her, blocking her view completely.

Lilia swallowed.

Refusing to look at him, she shifted her gaze elsewhere—only for her eyes to land on... oh my goodness.

Her cheeks burned instantly. She turned her head away so fast she nearly gave herself whiplash, but Zethan noticed. Of course, he did.

A slow smirk tugged at his lips, dark amusement dancing in his gaze.

'Lilia, why, of all places, did your eyes have to land there? she scolded hersel, her cheeks flushing.'

But it wasn't her fault—she had been minding her own business when Zethan suddenly decided to... sit.

Her thoughts were abruptly cut off when Zethan hooked his leg around her chair and pulled her closer. Before she could process what was happening, she found herself trapped between his legs, her face positioned directly in front of his—

Oh no.

Just as she opened her mouth to protest that this was not right, he used his thighs to hold her face in place.

Her eyes flew wide in shock.

Every breath she took was laced with his scent—masculine, rich, intoxicating. Her pulse hammered against her ribs, betraying her.

"Do you want to see it?"

His voice was low, deep. Almost teasing.

Lilia's breath caught.

Her hands flew up to push herself away, desperate to break the tension, but at that exact moment, Zethan spread his legs slightly.

Her hands landed somewhere else.

Her entire body locked up.

Heat exploded across her face as she yanked her hands back as if burned, her palm flying to her mouth in horror.

Zethan just watched her. Calm. Amused. Too amused.

Lilia's wide eyes darted to it.

The hardness she had just—

It... it was moving.

Her face turned an even deeper shade of red as she pointed at it in shock.

"I... I think you need to see a doctor..." she stammered, looking up at him with genuine concern.

Zethan blinked.

For the first time in a long while, he was speechless.

She wasn't reacting the way he expected. She wasn't flustered in the way he had anticipated—

She was actually... worried?

"I... I think I pushed it too hard, and now it's... uhm... moving," she whispered.

Zethan exhaled slowly, his smirk deepening.

"It's normal, Lilia," he said, his voice dripping with amusement. "It moves when you touch it."

Lilia's eyes widened. Her entire body stiffened as realization dawned.

"You... you made me—!" Her voice rose an octave as she jolted upright, her chair scraping back. "If you hadn't trapped my face between your... legs, I wouldn't have touched it!"

Zethan caught her wrist, stopping her retreat.

He didn't speak.

Just watched her.

His gaze was unreadable, unreadable in a way that sent her heart racing for all the wrong reasons.

"Stop looking at me like that!" she blurted. "It wasn't my fault! I... I—"

Before she could finish, his hand moved.

Slid to the back of her neck.

And pulled her forward.

Her breath caught—

And then—

His lips crashed against hers.

The world tilted.

Lilia's eyes flew wide, her hands landing on his chest to steady herself, but the moment his lips moved against hers—slow, consuming, possessive—

Her mind turned blank.

It was intoxicating.

The way he kissed her... as if he needed to. As if letting go wasn't an option.

A soft gasp escaped her when his tongue parted her lips, teasing hers before capturing it in a slow, heated dance.

Fireworks exploded behind her eyes.

Her body shivered as the kiss deepened, drawing her further into something she couldn't understand.

By the time he pulled away, both of them were breathless.

Lilia's heart pounded against her ribs as she glared at him—or at least, she tried to.

But the glare wasn't as sharp as it should have been.

She wasn't even sure why she was glaring anymore.

"W-We're getting a divorce soon," she forced out. "This... this has to stop."

Zethan didn't answer.

Instead, he leaned in again, his lips brushing over hers as if the very idea of stopping was impossible.

Lilia heart stopped.

Without warning, he pulled her into a tight embrace, burying his face against the curve of her neck.

The golden hue of the sunset bathed the room, wrapping around them in an almost ethereal glow.

"What are you doing to me?" His voice was low, almost disbelieving. "What kind of spell did you cast on me, huh?"

Lilia swallowed hard.

Was he... serious?

Zethan chuckled softly against her skin, but there was no humor in it.

"You smell like heaven, my wife," he murmured, his lips grazing her ear. "And let me tell you something... we are not getting divorced."

Lilia stiffened.

She tried to pull back, but his grip only tightened.

"Remember the deal?" His voice was a whisper against her skin, dangerously soft. "You're mine, baby. Mine and mine alone."

A sudden shiver ran down her spine as he turned her in his arms, pressing her back against his chest.

His lips moved against her neck—

Soft at first.

Then firmer.

"Ahhh..."

The sound escaped her before she could stop it, and she felt his body tense behind her.

That small, helpless moan ignited something in him.

His hands moved—slipping beneath her shirt, tracing over bare skin.

Lilia's breath hitched.

Her body trembled.

Then—

He lifted one of her legs onto the chair, forcing her body to open to him.

"Z-Zethan..."

His fingers slipped lower, A slow smile curled on his lips—she was already wet. Her body craved him, but she was too stubborn to admit it.

His fingers parted her soft folds before his middle finger slid deep inside her.

Lilia's body arched—

A firestorm of sensations crashed over her, leaving her weak, breathless.

Her head tipped back against his shoulder, her legs unsteady.

Zethan's grip tightened.

And he kept going.

"Ahh~"

Lilia gasped, her entire body trembling.

His fingers moved, slow but deliberate, teasing her with every stroke.

"Z-Zethan...plea..pleas...ahh" she tried to speak, but her voice broke into a breathless moan.

He exhaled against her neck.

"Yes, baby," he murmured, deep and darkly amused. "You're trembling so much...I love it?"

Lilia's breath shuddered, a tremor running through her body.

She couldn't speak. Couldn't think.

And then—

His lips ghosted over the shell of her ear, warm and teasing.

"You're so beautiful..." Zethan's voice was a low murmur, thick with satisfaction.

A shiver crawled down her spine.

She wanted more

Her body, arched before she could stop it, pressing eagerly against the heat of him.

Zethan groaned, a deep, guttural sound.

Control—his iron control—was slipping.

But he wouldn't take her.

Not yet.

Not until she begged for it.

Then—

His fingers withdrew, leaving her empty, aching.

Lilia blinked, disoriented, her breaths coming in soft, uneven pants.

And that's when she felt it.

Hard. Pressing against her.

A strangled sound caught in her throat. Her pulse roared in her ears.

Zethan chuckled, the sound rich with dark amusement, his breath fanning over her skin.

"Do you want to see it?"

Lilia's breath hitched. "I—I...yes... I mean... No!" She shook her head rapidly, her face burning, heat spreading down her neck.

His fingers lifted, tilting her chin up until their eyes locked. His gaze was dark, hooded with something deeper than desire—something possessive, almost dangerous. A slow shiver crawled down her spine.

"You'll have to look at me sooner or later, sweetheart," he murmured, his thumb brushing over her lower lip, lingering just long enough to make her tremble. His voice was a whisper of heat against her skin. "Because this—" he pressed against her, making her pulse stutter, "—is all for you. And no one else."

Lilia let out a strangled sound, her hands flying to his chest, her fingers trembling against the hard muscle beneath his shirt. She wanted to push him away—should push him away. But Zethan didn't move.

His lips brushed over hers, featherlight, teasing, dangerous.

"I'm holding myself back right now, Loris... yet—" His breath was unsteady, a low growl vibrating from his chest. "F*ck."

A deep chuckle rumbled from him, dark and knowing. His arms caged her in, his body heat overwhelming, suffocating.

"We can't get a divorce, Lilia." His voice was soft, almost gentle—yet there was no mistaking the steel beneath it. "From now on, keep this in your head." He leaned closer, his lips ghosting over her ear, his next words sinking deep into her bones.

"Every part of you is mine."

The room felt smaller, the walls closing in, his presence pressing against every part of her.

"So don't you ever ask for a divorce?" His grip on her waist tightened, firm, unyielding. "Because no matter how far you run... I will hunt you down."
