Chapter 1801: Chapter 1801: Turning a Major Issue into a Minor One

Ouyang Qiuhai dared not conceal anything and told his father the general situation, for he could not hide anything from him.

After listening to his daughter’s statement, Ouyang Tianshu was somewhat shocked: "Are you saying that within three days, Martial Strategy Hall has seen the emergence of two Commanders?"

Ouyang Qiuhai nodded: "How dare I lie about such a matter?"

Ouyang Tianshu wore a stern expression; in Ancestor Dragon City, talents emerged endlessly, but true Commanders only surfaced in troubled times, much like a sign. Though this notion seems a bit mystical, historical records in Ancestor Dragon City show that monstrosities often appear during such times.

And Commanders are among those monstrosities, capable of leading human cultivators of Ancestor Dragon City to defeat the Demon Alliance and stand unshaken between heaven and earth as leaders.

Having such a monstrosity emerge is already extraordinary, but now he’s being told that two appeared almost simultaneously.

Having heard that Bai Yi is a descendant of the military god from the Bai Family, Ouyang Tianshu could accept it a bit better. But what is the situation with Li Feng?

Vermilion Bird Bloodline, a talent for commanding, and originating from the Lower Three Rings.

It’s not that Ouyang Tianshu looks down on people from the Lower Three Rings; it’s just that the environment and cultivation resources there are far inferior compared to aristocratic families. Ancestor Dragon City has been ruled by these families for thousands of years, relying on the accumulated heritage of these families.

The children of aristocratic families can obtain various cultivation resources from birth to growth, and have the best mentors guide them. With countless years of accumulated cultivation techniques and divine skills, those from the Lower Three Rings—even those with modest family assets—are far behind in these aspects.

It can even be said to be worlds apart, for one without background or support, even struggling for food, nurturing a genius in the Lower Three Rings is nearly as difficult as reaching the heavens.

Thus, Li Feng is truly one of these monstrosities.

"How much do you know about this Li Feng?"

Ouyang Qiuhai turned to look at Sikong Yu, as her encounters with Li Feng were recent and much of it she heard from Sikong Yu.

Sikong Yu didn’t hide anything, revealing what he knew about Li Feng to Ouyang Tianshu.

"Born into poverty yet able to rise rapidly, had it not been for the awakening of the Vermilion Bird Bloodline in this kid, I would have thought he was a spy cultivated by the Ten Demon Hall."

The Ten Demon Hall comprises mostly of rebels who cultivate by integrating Demon Clan bloodlines—a group of evil cultivators, scoundrels within the Ten Demon Hall fuse with Demon Clan bloodlines to gain great power, and with certain cultivation methods, their combat strength often surpasses even some pure-blood Demon Clan members.

"He can’t be a spy; how can a spy be so brazen, and even dare to enter the Nine Layers Mountain?"

Ouyang Qiuhai shook her head.

"Hmm, you imply that if you hadn’t fabricated things, would your senior have developed such a malice towards Li Feng, thereby causing such a grave mistake?"

Ouyang Tianshu glared at his daughter, feeling a headache. Who would have thought the instigator of today’s mishap was his own daughter?

Ouyang Qiuhai pouted: "I didn’t expect things to turn out this way."

"Uncle Ouyang, it’s best to think of how to clean up the aftermath; ideally, we should defuse the issue."

Sikong Yu suggested.

Ouyang Tianshu, being flexible, responded: "Will that kid make concessions? He just confronted me directly not long ago."

"Uncle Ouyang, you handle the Border Army at the First Line Pass; as for Li Feng, I’ll persuade him." Sikong Yu took on the responsibility.

Ouyang Qiuhai looked at Sikong Yu: "Rain Sister, will he listen to you?"

Though the Sikong Family intends to recruit Li Feng as a son-in-law, it’s clear he has no intention of joining, while marrying off her elder sister to Li Feng seems inadequate.

After all, Sikong Yu is the top aristocratic family’s eldest lady, the Family Head’s daughter with noble status, and even though Li Feng is immensely talented with Vermilion Bird Bloodline, in Ancestor Dragon City, where birth defines rank, Li Feng is truly in no position.

"I’ll make sure he stands down."

After finishing his words, Sikong Yu turned to Ouyang Qiuhai: "I’ll handle Li Feng, you go persuade your Senior Brother Du, he’s been humiliated, and seriously injured, I fear he may hold grudges."

Du Yanran made such a commotion, if it’s simply because Ouyang Qiuhai is his junior sister, it’s not enough.

It’s possible that Du Yanran bears feelings for Ouyang Qiuhai, explaining why he took her fabrications seriously.

Of course, it can’t be ruled out that Du Yanran miscalculated, not expecting Li Feng to be so dauntless.

Having not interacted with Li Feng, one wouldn’t know how troublesome he can be.

Ouyang Qiuhai nodded, with Ouyang Tianshu having no objections. As this matter originated from his daughter, to protect her, he must quell the issue.

Immediately, the three parted ways, Ouyang Qiuhai went to find Du Yanran, while Ouyang Tianshu needed to reassure the beaten Border Army.

"Camp Master, there’s a woman outside requesting to meet."

Shadow entered a stone room to report to Li Feng.

"Oh?"

"Bring her in."

The entire camp is built with stones, including tables and chairs; though the conditions aren’t great, it does suffice for staying.

"Yes." Shadow turned and left, soon bringing in a woman. Li Feng lifted his gaze, recognizing an old acquaintance, Sikong Yu.

"You may leave first."

Li Feng instructed Shadow to step aside, eyes inspecting Sikong Yu: "Honestly, seeing Miss Sikong here, I’m quite surprised."

"Could Miss Sikong have traveled here solely for me?"

Li Feng indeed hadn’t anticipated this; he hadn’t thought Sikong Yu would travel this far to reach the First Line Pass.

Though due to the Vermilion Bird Bloodline, he had crossed paths with Miss Sikong, and she seemed intent on recruiting him, but Li Feng had clearly refused her, he hadn’t thought she would persist so much.

Sikong Yu didn’t consider herself an outsider, directly sat down nearby: "If you put it that way, then yes."

"I did come specifically for you; after Zhang Qiang left a message saying you’re heading to Vermilion Bird Sacred Land, if you anticipated I’d question him, didn’t you foresee I’d follow?"

"I only considered the possibility, but didn’t expect you to truly come."

Li Feng replied.

"Hmm, stop feigning ignorance, my Sikong Family is dubbed the Vermilion Bird Family thanks to our bloodline; without it, our family wouldn’t be what it is today, yet you, not bearing the Sikong name, possess a bloodline even stronger than ours, how can I possibly ignore it?"

"Additionally, though my Sikong Family hasn’t dispatched anyone to search for Vermilion Bird, since the Holy Beast was injured and went dormant a millennium ago, the contact with our family ceased."

"Thus, Li Feng, if you head to Vermilion Bird Sacred Land, I’ll definitely follow you."
