Chapter 1787: Chapter 1784: The Situation Is Dire

Spinning Stars, time quietly flowed, and in the blink of an eye, it was already the next morning.

The gentle sunlight spilled into the room through the gaps in the curtains, bathing the entire space in a warm, yellow glow.

Xu Wendong had just finished a refreshing morning session with Lin Yiren and Liu Shimei, and the atmosphere of laziness and satisfaction still hung in the air.

Just then, he acutely sensed a familiar aura settling steadily in front of the villa.

"You two rest well, I’ll step out for a bit." Xu Wendong looked warmly at the two beside him, a hint of a smile lingering on his lips as he spoke softly.

Afterwards, he unhurriedly donned his clothes and strode downstairs with steady steps.

There he saw Lingxu Taoist in a sky-blue robe, its sleeves fluttering, exuding an aura of immortal elegance.

With a solemn expression, he respectfully bowed deeply to Xu Wendong, saying, "Greetings, Young Master!"

Lingxu Taoist owed his fortune to the three words "Mystic Spirit Pavilion."

Back then, leveraging these three words of opportunity, he successfully broke through to the Golden Core and advanced to the Nascent Soul Stage.

Later, he was taken under Xu Wendong’s wing, tasked with searching for gifted cultivators and mortals.

Even though he was well aware of Xu Wendong’s extraordinary power, he was still deeply shocked when he heard about Xu Wendong crushing the Cultivator Association single-handedly yesterday; the feeling of awe continued to linger in his heart.

"How are things progressing?" Xu Wendong slightly raised his head, his gaze calmly fixed on the distance, his tone carrying a hint of authoritative command.

He had never forgotten his original intention of returning to Earth—to find the reincarnated Celestial Gods.

After all, only by finding them and awakening their past memories could the Heavenly Court be rebuilt, fully safeguarding the dignity and peace of the Three Realms.

If this couldn’t be achieved, one day, the Otherworldly Demons would surely invade once again.

He knew very well that he couldn’t possibly contend with those powerful entities from beyond with his strength alone.

Lingxu Taoist, full of shame, said: "In response to the Young Master, this old servant has traveled to every corner of the world but hasn’t found the kind of gifted cultivators you spoke of."

Xu Wendong’s brows furrowed, filled with doubt; logically, a reincarnated Celestial God, even if their memories were sealed, should exhibit some unique traits in life, yet there was still no clue.

Just then, Lingxu Taoist suddenly seemed to remember something, his expression sharply changed, and he urgently said: "Oh! Previously, this old man heard of an extraordinarily special child appearing in Su Province."

He paused slightly, his gaze revealing a hint of reminiscence: "When that child was born, celestial phenomena descended from the heavens, brilliant rays of light like silk draped over the entire village."

"What’s even more astonishing is that as soon as he was born, he could speak human words. His tiny hand could lightly wave and control fire, creating a sensation that drew countless people to witness."

Xu Wendong listened intently, his eyes full of anticipation, as if grasping a sliver of hopeful light.

However, before he could inquire further, Lingxu Taoist’s face suddenly darkened, his tone heavy with regret, said solemnly: "But, unexpected changes often come from the skies."

He paused slightly, as if to calm his emotions, then continued: "On the day the child turned one hundred days old, the previously clear sky suddenly churned with dark clouds, as if obscured by an invisible giant hand."

"Immediately, massive Sky Thunders, as thick as bowl mouths, crashed down with destructive force."

Xu Wendong’s heart sank heavily, his breath inadvertently quickened.

Lingxu Taoist continued: "Among the fearful cries of the crowd, that child vanished entirely, as if he had never existed in this world."

"If that child were still alive, now he would be twelve years old." Lingxu Taoist muttered to himself.

"It shouldn’t be!" Xu Wendong’s brow furrowed into a knot of confusion, saying doubtfully: "Since celestial phenomena descended when that child was born, it indicates the Heavenly Dao Rules recognized his existence, so why did Sky Thunder fall on the hundredth day to destroy him?"

Saying this, he slowly raised his head, his gaze fixed on the azure sky, his eyes filled with questioning, as if demanding a reasonable explanation from the Heavenly Dao Rules.

Just then, the voice of Dragon Soul resounded like a booming bell deep within Xu Wendong’s mind: "Could it be that someone is deliberately attempting to eliminate the reincarnated Celestial Gods?"

Upon hearing this, Xu Wendong’s whole body shuddered, a chill shot up from his spine:"Do you mean, Otherworldly Demons have already infiltrated the Mortal World?"

"Celestial Gods do not truly perish, they only reincarnate to cultivate again."

"By calculating the time, some among them should have already awakened their past memories."

Dragon Soul’s voice remained steady but carried an urgent tone: "Yet now, not a trace of a single Divine can be found on Earth."

"Clearly, someone has eliminated them in the cradle before their awakening."

"This is not a good omen." Dragon Soul’s voice paused slightly, then continued: "Because once reincarnated Celestial Gods are eliminated, they will reincarnate again."

"But as the reincarnation times increase, the probability of them awakening past memories decreases."

"Even...total oblivion!"

Xu Wendong’s complexion suddenly changed: "Does that mean the opportunity to find those reincarnated Celestial Gods completely diminishes?"

"Not necessarily," Dragon Soul slowly began: "As long as you find the Three-Life Stone, you can awaken their past memories."

"However, the Three-Life Stone is located in the Netherworld."

"So, you continue searching for those gifted humans, and I’ll seek the entrance to the Netherworld. When found, you head to the Netherworld to find the Three-Life Stone and strive to bring it to the mortal world."

Without waiting for Xu Wendong to speak, he felt Dragon Soul fly out of his body, transforming into a fleeting shadow and disappearing into the depths of the sky.

Leaving Xu Wendong standing there, bewildered.

A living person entering the Netherworld?

Can it be done this way?

He took a deep breath, trying to calm his emotions, and said to Lingxu Taoist: "Continue searching for gifted humans for me, and besides that, investigate the Cultivation Realm for any mysterious forces!"

"Old servant obeys!" Lingxu Taoist said with full respect, then his figure vanished from the front of the villa.

Xu Wendong also turned and headed back into the villa.

But at that moment.

His phone suddenly rang, displaying Zhang Nian’s number.

Seeing Zhang Nian’s number, Xu Wendong’s heart raced a few beats, he immediately pressed the connection button: "Speak."

A sinister voice suddenly rang out: "Xu Wendong, if you want to save your disciple, come to South Lake, otherwise, prepare to collect her corpse!"
