Chapter 1834: Chapter 1702: Wait a Little Longer

"What’s the relationship?" Zhou Yang was momentarily stunned, "I’m not sure, but with Lin Mo’s strength, if someone is with him, they likely have some motives."

"I don’t think so." Sun Mei shook her head, frowning, "I saw Lin Mo’s posture, that stout man seems like his servant."

"Servant?" Shao Wenfeng squinted slightly, tapping two fingers on the Stone Forest surface, he sneered, "A Star Domain Level expert serving him as a servant? Does he have that much capability?"

"Not a servant?" Sun Mei was puzzled.

Shao Wenfeng asserted, "How could a Star Domain Level expert serve him? I think they must have some hidden transaction between them. Perhaps that stout man likes men like Lin Mo, and Lin Mo relies on selling his looks to that Star Domain Level expert to survive in the Dark Demon Sea."

"Haha, our former genius from the Mystic Realm Sect now has to sell his looks to a man to survive?" Zhou Yang laughed heartily, maliciously, as if this explanation could bring him some satisfaction.

"But when do we settle the score with him?" Sun Mei bit her lip, having been beaten for no reason. That stout man showed no pity, and now hearing Shao Wenfeng’s explanation, she could understand.

Shao Wenfeng shook his head.

"Just let it go? I can’t swallow this." Zhou Yang glared.

"He has a Star Domain Level expert by his side. Even if I personally went, I’d probably at best tie with them and couldn’t do anything to Lin Mo." Shao Wenfeng said calmly, "But external reliance won’t always work. Once that Star Domain Level expert has had enough fun, they will naturally leave Lin Mo. Then it won’t be too late to settle the score."

"Alright, we’ll follow Brother Shao’s lead." Zhou Yang nodded. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Sun Mei also had no way. As long as that stout man follows Lin Mo, she has no opportunity for revenge.

"Alright, you two go and rest. We have important tasks tomorrow."

Shao Wenfeng waved his hand, dismissing the two, and alone poured a cup of wine, a cold smirk slowly forming at his lips, "Lin Mo, there are plenty of chances to make you suffer."

After speaking, he drank the wine.

...

In the deep mountains and marshes, the mountain range coiled like a giant dragon. Below, the mist lingered, resembling an Immortal Realm.

In the sky, four figures were soaring, scanning the surroundings with Divine Thought over thousands of kilometers. These four were Lin Mo’s party.

"Mr. Lin, there’s a large marsh in this mountain range named Qingguan Marsh, inhabited by a Water Ape with an Intermediate Star Domain Level cultivation, but it got injured recently, falling to Star Domain Level Beginner." Luo Yu’er communicated via Divine Thought, "We plan to take advantage of its injury to attack and kill it."

"Hmm, Water Ape, living in the marsh, killing it will be very challenging." Lin Mo spoke calmly.

Rain King said, "The Water Ape is adept with Water Law, living long-term in marsh lakes, making it difficult to kill. But now that it’s injured, often coming ashore to hunt other beasts and devour their flesh and inner core to recover its injuries."

"Great, I’ll envelop you with Divine Thought, making it hard for it to detect our approach." Lin Mo nodded.

Instantly, powerful Power of Soul unfolded invisibly, flowing like an unseen stream to envelop Rain King and Luo Yu’er, both showing surprised expressions.

This Power of Soul’s strength rivals that of a Star Domain Level expert!

Though Lin Mo was using the Blood Demon Vine’s avatar, the Power of Soul’s strength did not weaken.

After flying for about the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, a large lake appeared in Lin Mo’s view, like a mirror embedded in the green mountains’ center, with two towering mountain peaks on either side, straight like swords, sky-high.

"No wonder it’s called Qingguan Marsh!" Lin Mo mused inwardly.

These two towering peaks formed a natural gate.

"Slow down and approach slowly." Lin Mo reminded.

Luo Yu’er and Rain King exchanged glances and nodded, then the group slowed down, perched atop one peak’s summit, gazing at the tranquil marsh below.

"Now we just wait, and as soon as the Water Ape emerges, we must kill it immediately. If it escapes back into the lake, the difficulty of killing it increases significantly." Luo Yu’er said seriously, "Therefore, we must be swift, killing it with lightning speed."

Lin Mo slightly furrowed his sword-like brows; perhaps with Da Shan’s strength, they could contend with the Water Ape, and combined with Rain King and himself, killing it shouldn’t be dangerous or difficult.

But the Water Ape is adept in water.

If it escapes back into the lake, killing it becomes much harder.

So, they must be swift, striking as soon as it emerges from the lake.

"Da Shan, you must unleash your full strength later and prevent the Water Ape from retreating to the lake." Lin Mo directed Da Shan.

"Yes, young master."

The four waited silently, while the lake surface remained undisturbed. Only wind gently spread faint ripples. If not for accurate intelligence, one wouldn’t expect a water-proficient Water Ape to be hidden within this marsh.

They waited for about the time two incense sticks burn; the Water Ape habitually emerged once a day to hunt.

If it fails once, the Water Ape becomes even more cautious, increasing the difficulty to kill it next time.

"Brother Yu, there’s movement." Luo Yu’er widened her beautiful eyes, staring intently at the lake’s surface.

Lin Mo and Rain King also gathered their gaze, focusing and holding their breath.

The previously calm lake started rippling vigorously, then a massive silhouette flew from the center—a Water Ape!

Approximately ten yards tall, covered in gray long fur, water droplets continuously falling from its body. Da Shan appeared like an infant before this Water Ape.

The Water Ape’s eyes were brown, scanning cautiously, with white tufts on its forehead and head, holding a dark, metallic gleaming Wolf Fang Club as long as half its height, bristling with sharp spikes, gleaming coldly.

"There, it’s out."

"Careful, don’t let it notice."

"This Water Ape is very cunning."

Lin Mo’s group waited calmly; with Lin Mo’s mental enveloping, even the Water Ape would struggle to detect them.

Plop!

The Water Ape glanced around and suddenly appeared startled, diving directly into the lake at its feet.

Luo Yu’er was dumbfounded, "It detected us?"

"Impossible, let’s wait." Lin Mo’s sword brows tightened, focusing deeply.

After waiting about the time half an incense stick burns, the Water Ape emerged from the lake once more, a cunning gleam flashing in its eyes.

"This Water Ape is indeed sly; it did that intentionally to test if anyone was ambushing it. Didn’t expect it to be so crafty." Rain King showed excitement in his eyes, communicating.

To be continued wonderfully tomorrow.
