Chapter 104: The Night Wasn’t Over Yet

Sean laughed softly.

"That’s a very accurate observation."

Olivia smiled proudly.

"I have pretty good observation skills too."

"I know," Sean said.

She nudged his shoulder.

"So..."

"Are you ever going to answer the question?"

Sean was silent for a moment.

Then he smiled.

"Someday."

"When I can explain it properly."

She looked into his eyes for several quiet seconds.

She could tell there was something he wasn’t ready to tell her.

Not because he didn’t trust her.

Because... whatever it was, it wasn’t easy to explain.

She’d seen that look before.

The same one he’d worn whenever he wanted to tell her something but couldn’t quite find the words.

Finally, she nodded.

"Okay."

Sean looked at her.

"...Okay?"

Olivia smiled.

"You told me there wouldn’t be any more secrets after the showcase."

Sean nodded.

"I remember."

"I’m choosing to believe that’s still true," Olivia said softly. "I think... you just need a little more time before you can tell me this one."

Sean held her gaze.

A small smile appeared on his face.

"That’s exactly it."

Olivia smiled back without another question.

"Then I can wait."

She slipped her hand into his and rested her head against his shoulder.

Sean gently intertwined his fingers with hers.

Neither of them spoke again.

They simply watched the city pass by together, comfortable in the silence.

Several minutes later, James slowed the Rolls-Royce to a stop in front of a building so grand that it made even the Four Seasons look like nothing more than a rehearsal.

James brought the Rolls-Royce to a smooth stop beneath the hotel’s grand entrance.

Olivia looked out the window before slowly turning back to Sean.

"Sean..."

"Yeah?"

She frowned slightly.

"This isn’t the Four Seasons."

Sean smiled.

"No, it isn’t."

She looked back at the building, taking in its towering glass façade, the understated architecture, and the elegant gold lettering above the entrance.

"What is this place?" Olivia asked.

"The Reine," Sean replied. "It opened about eighteen months ago. It’s currently the highest-rated hotel in the city."

Her eyes narrowed with curiosity.

"So... why are we here?"

Sean leaned back comfortably.

"The top floor has a private pool."

Olivia stared at him.

"...A private pool?"

"The entire top floor is one penthouse," Sean explained. "Private elevator, full-service kitchen, rooftop pool, personal butler, and a view of the entire city."

She blinked once.

Then twice.

Finally, she looked back at the hotel before slowly turning toward him again.

"...You planned all of that?"

"I thought you’d like it."

Olivia laughed under her breath.

"Sean..."

"Yeah?"

"I didn’t exactly pack a swimsuit."

Sean smiled as though he’d been expecting the question.

"The suite has a private boutique."

She stared.

"A... boutique?"

"Twenty-four-hour service."

There was a long silence.

Olivia shook her head in surrender.

"You really did think of everything."

"I tried."

She couldn’t stop smiling.

"You are officially the most ridiculous person I’ve ever met."

"I’ve heard worse."

James quietly opened the rear door.

"Enjoy your evening, sir," he said.

Sean stepped out first before offering Olivia his hand.

She accepted it immediately.

Together, they walked into the hotel.

The lobby was breathtaking without trying to be.

Dark marble stretched across the floor, warm lighting reflected softly from polished stone, and carefully arranged white lilies filled the room with a subtle fragrance. Nothing demanded attention, yet everything felt impossibly expensive.

As they approached the reception desk, the manager immediately looked up.

"Good evening, Mr. Miller."

Sean nodded.

"The penthouse."

"Of course, sir."

Without needing to check a reservation, the manager produced a sleek black key card.

"The Penthouse Residence has been prepared. Your butler is already waiting upstairs."

Sean nodded before taking out his phone.

He completed the payment in a matter of seconds.

[80,000 Dollars Spent]

[Balance: $3,560,460]

[400,000 Dollars Received]

[New Balance: $3,960,460]

The notification disappeared as quickly as it had appeared.

Sean slipped his phone back into his pocket without reacting.

Olivia noticed.

"You didn’t even look."

"I looked."

"You didn’t react."

Sean shrugged.

"I’m trying not to."

She smiled.

"Wealth changes people."

"It doesn’t have to."

The elevator doors opened with a soft chime.

Unlike a normal hotel elevator, there were no floor buttons.

Only one destination.

Sean swiped the key card.

The doors closed behind them.

The ride upward was silent.

When the elevator finally stopped, the doors slid open directly into the penthouse.

Olivia stepped out first.

Then she stopped walking.

Floor-to-ceiling windows surrounded the entire suite, revealing the city from every angle. Soft lighting reflected off polished wood floors, while an enormous living room stretched toward a dining area, a private bar, and beyond that, a terrace where a glowing infinity pool overlooked the skyline.

The city lights shimmered beneath the night sky, making it feel as though they were standing above the world itself.

Olivia slowly turned in a complete circle.

"...Sean."

He smiled.

"Yeah?"

"You rented... all of this?"

"For tonight."

She looked back at the glowing pool outside.

Then at the endless skyline.

Then at him.

For several seconds, she couldn’t find a single word to say.

Sean quietly enjoyed watching her take it all in.

Finally, she laughed.

"I don’t even know how to react anymore."

"You don’t have to."

She walked toward the glass overlooking the city, resting one hand against it as she admired the view.

"It’s beautiful."

Sean joined her a few moments later.

"It really is."

Olivia smiled.

She wasn’t looking at the city anymore.

They stood together in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, the city stretching endlessly beneath them.

For a while, neither of them spoke.

The silence wasn’t awkward.

It was comfortable.

The kind that only existed between two people who no longer felt the need to fill every quiet moment with words.

Olivia rested one hand against the glass.

"Can I tell you something?" she asked softly.

Sean turned toward her.

"You can tell me anything."

She smiled faintly before looking back at the city.
