Chapter 70: Chapter 69 Surveillance

The two of them finished their meal in silent agreement and returned to the bed to rest.

Both had already become intimate, and Zhao Qing felt it was rather troublesome to still wear a bathrobe to sleep at night.

So, she simply took it off, while Zhang Hao was just wearing a pair of boxer shorts, which was the only piece of fabric on him.

The ejected He Chao grumbled all the way. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"How could you two be so useless, unable to deal with just one person?"

"Big Brother, that kid, he must know some martial arts, he took us down the moment we started."

"Moreover, he seemed to be prepared in advance. Although the room card was inside the room, he had an extra one."

He Chao was almost grinding his molars to dust, unable to understand how Zhang Hao could think even more thoroughly than him.

The car stopped by the roadside, and He Chao felt his jacket pocket, only to discover it was completely empty.

Where was that box!

It was gone.

Thinking he might have misremembered the place, he checked his pants pockets and felt every single pocket on him.

But he did not find the box.

He was also sure it wasn’t on those two brothers, and just like that, the sole piece of evidence was lost.

He Chao felt incredibly frustrated inside.

"You guys don’t need to go to work these next few days; spend all your time watching your big sister-in-law."

The two underlings glanced at each other and said, "Bro, we only took a day off to come here with you today; you know our monthly salary isn’t much."

"If we don’t go to work for several days in a row, the boss is bound to say something. It’s so hard to find a good job these days."

Although He Chao didn’t have an official job now, he had spent all his time and energy amassing wealth over the last two years.

He had enough savings to squander for a few years even if he lived just like this.

"How about five hundred a day, isn’t that faster than what you make at work?"

The two underlings nodded again and again, their daily wage for work didn’t exceed one hundred and eighty.

This five hundred in two days would amount to a thousand.

"Brother, what do you want us to do then, giving us so much money?"

He Chao smirked sinisterly and said, "If there’s a first time, there will be a second time. Women like your sister-in-law, who say no with their mouths but their bodies are very honest."

"She surely won’t end things after just one play. You guys just keep an eye on her around the hospital these next few days."

""Whenever you see her getting along with that Doctor Zhang, watch them closely, whether it’s recording a video or taking pictures, I want evidence of your sister-in-law’s affair within marriage."

The two underlings were indeed surprised to hear this. They knew their big brother was going through a divorce, but they didn’t expect things to have escalated to this extent between the parties.

But what does that have to do with them? The only thing that mattered was the five hundred a day.

"Alright, we got it."

For the next few days, Zhang Hao went to work and got off work as usual, and Zhao Qing did not take the initiative to see him again.

Occasionally running into Zhao Qing in the cafeteria, they would just chat briefly.

Even the other colleagues noticed that the two seemed less intimate than before.

This not only caused the other male doctors to fantasize, wondering if they had broken up.

There seemed to be another chance to win her favor, but the real truth was that Zhang Hao knew He Chao would not just let things go.

He would surely find another opportunity to trouble Zhao Qing.

Rather than letting him succeed, it was better to leave him scratching his head in frustration. After all, as long as no evidence of the two being together was captured,

proof of their relationship could not be established.

Zhao Qing also understood Zhang Hao’s approach and naturally did not express any objections.

So the two of them came and went as if they were strangers.

He Chao’s two underlings had been squatting outside the hospital entrance for three days.

It wasn’t until the fourth day that they finally couldn’t squat any longer.

Taking advantage of the lunch break, one of them made a call to He Chao.

As soon as the call connected, a woman’s panting could be heard from the other side.

"Chao... Brother Chao, slow down, you’re too fast, it’s hurting me so much."

The underlings exchanged glances, knowing full well that He Chao always satisfied his needs by paying for them.

They guessed he must have gone somewhere to find a high-class girl.

"What’s the matter?" He Chao’s voice came through from the other end of the phone.

"Bro, can we pull out? We’ve been watching outside the hospital for days and we haven’t seen two people coming and going together."

"We haven’t even seen any other couples, so can we just pull out for now?"

"Pull out? Where are you planning to go? Keep watching for me. Haven’t I paid you guys for these past few days?"

The two underlings felt they were just wasting their time here, and their boss at the company had already called them.

He gave them an ultimatum: if they didn’t show up for work tomorrow, they shouldn’t bother coming back. The five hundred a day might be a nice extra, but it wasn’t sustainable.

They needed a steady job to make a living, and they knew well enough to weigh their priorities.

Suddenly, He Chao felt rather unlucky; he had wanted to catch Zhao Qing in the act of cheating, but she had been prepared all along.

In the end, He Chao had to admit that his plan was like a leaking roof that happened to meet continuous night rain, utterly lacking meticulousness.

If only he had planned things properly, he wouldn’t have ended up in this mess.

Now that he had already alerted his quarry, how could he find any evidence?

"Forget it, I’ll transfer the money to you guys in a bit. Go do whatever you want."

Standing in her office, Zhao Qing looked out the window.

"He Chao’s lackeys have left; it seems they’ve given up on the stakeout."

"They gave up so soon? I thought they’d last at least a week or two."

Zhao Qing, hearing what Zhang Hao said, gave a sheepish smile.

"You really think he’s patient. Without results in a day or two, he just can’t stand it."

"We don’t need to worry at all. Why don’t we go out for dinner tonight as a small celebration?"

Zhang Hao shook his head, declining Zhao Qing’s suggestion, but Zhao Qing was somewhat unhappy.

"What’s wrong, you’re scared just to have a simple dinner?"

Zhang Hao explained, "Wait until you have the divorce papers, then talk to me about having dinner."

"Before that, you’re still technically a married woman. What if He Chao decided to follow you himself?"

Zhao Qing pouted, never expecting that getting married was easy, but getting divorced was hard.

If she had known that she would be unhappy in her marriage and that getting divorced would involve so many procedures, she wouldn’t have married at all.

"Alright then, I’ll head back now, I won’t disturb your work any longer."

As soon as Zhao Qing left, Zhang Hao leaned back in his chair. A doctor sitting not far from him came over, sliding his chair along.

"Doctor Zhang, I notice that you and Nurse Zhao seem quite close. Have you two already..."

Zhang Hao, picking up a medical record next to him, hit the doctor with it and said, "Don’t ask about everything, just get on with your work."

However, in the large department, there were only the two doctors at that moment; the rest had gone to perform surgeries.

With Zhang Hao’s response, the office became exceptionally quiet.

After returning to her post, Zhao Qing was also reprimanded by her superior.

"Zhao Qing, what have you been doing lately? It’s often hard to find you at your station. If this continues, you can forget about any bonus."
