Chapter 514: Chapter 511 Enlightenment
The two of them just kept walking out of the airport terminal, as far as those who brushed past them.
They simply thought the two were a husband and wife who hadn’t seen each other for a long time and finally had the chance to meet.
There’s a saying that a short parting is better than a new marriage.
It could be said that’s what they’re experiencing now.
As soon home, Zhang Hao couldn’t wait to carry He Qianhui to the bed.
"Hey, what’s the rush? We’re home now."
Despite He Qianhui’s stalling, the fire in Zhang Hao’s heart wasn’t dampened.
On the contrary, it grew even fiercer. Zhang Hao smoothed the wisps of hair from He Qianhui’s forehead,
fully revealing her beautiful features, "With you looking so pretty, how can I not have any thoughts?"
Halfway through speaking, Zhang Hao simply pressed his mouth against her ear, "You have no idea how hard I’ve been on the way home."
On the journey, Qianhui was driving, fearing that Zhang Hao, after several hours on a plane, would be tired.
But now it seemed, he was anything but tired.
"You’ve just come back, shouldn’t you rest properly? If you work so hard tonight, how will you manage to go to work tomorrow?"
Seeing He Qianhui so considerate of him, Zhang Hao’s heart softened, but then his little brother hardened!
It was even harder than on the way home.
Because it was so intense, he didn’t want to keep delaying; he had to release it quickly, or he would indeed break down.
Zhang Hao caught He Qianhui’s hand and placed it between his legs, letting her feel for herself how burning that area was.
Having been with Zhang Hao for so long, how could Qianhui not know about his hardness?
But when her hand touched that area, she was still taken aback.
"How can you be this hard? We’ve only been apart for a day. You can’t miss me that much."
Zhang Hao dismissed her thought, "Do you really not know how important you are to me?"
Looking at his affectionate face, He Qianhui drew her hand back and with her fair arms like tender lotus roots, lovingly wrapped them around his neck.
"Let’s see how strong you are now, whether you’re a hunting leopard or a pet cat kept at home."
As the words fell, Zhang Hao pressed his body onto hers. His heat, her passion, set the flames of desire raging.
The next morning, the moment He Qianhui woke up, she felt sore and limp all over, lacking even the strength to lift her arms.
Zhang Hao, still fast asleep beside her, looked utterly exhausted as if he had worn himself out.
He Qianhui couldn’t suppress the joy in her heart and simply took the day off with her manager to rest well at home.
When the phone alarm went off again, He Qianhui woke up from her nap.
"It’s already so late; I really don’t want to go work."
As Zhang Hao sat up, he couldn’t help but start grumbling.
This was the first time He Qianhui heard him say he didn’t want to go to work, which was indeed rare.
Qianhui lay on her side, propping her head with one hand, her eyes lazily expressive, "If you don’t want to go to work, just take a day off."
Zhang Hao’s eyes widened, "I’m a doctor; unless the earth explodes, I can’t possibly take a day off."
Hurriedly dressing, Zhang Hao didn’t forget to plant a kiss on her cheek.
"Rest well at home, let’s have dinner together tonight."
He Qianhui nodded and, once she heard the door close, lazily crawled back into the warmth of the covers, which still retained the lingering affectionate scent from last night’s encounter.
Before he could even change into his work clothes at the department, Zhang Hao was summoned by the Director of Surgery, but this time, it wasn’t for surgery.
A week-long training that ended after just one day.
Even though the leaders had approved it, the three of them still had to write a written report.
Everything is just procedures!
What Zhang Hao dreaded most was exactly these written reports.
Every time he was at a loss for words, feeling like a complete illiterate.
In front of the leaders, he kept silent, only listening to the Director of Surgery jabbering on.
He thought that once the Director of Surgery finished talking, the leaders would let them go.
Unexpectedly, the leader also wanted Zhang Hao to share his insights from the learning experience.
What insights could he have? He practically dozed off in that meeting room.
"Leader, please don’t make it hard for me. There are so many patients waiting for me to see them in my department; I really need to get back," he said.
The leader frowned and slapped the desk, "Zhang Hao, do you hear what you’re saying? Is it that hard to share a couple of insights?"
The Director of Surgery coughed, offering Zhang Hao a reminder, "It’s patients waiting to be seen, not doctors."
Zhang Hao then realized he had slipped up in his speech, though it was a minor error.
"Leader, my insight is that learning on paper will never match up to actual practice. Only by facing the gruesomeness of the operating table can a doctor’s experience really improve!" he said.
The leader listened to Zhang Hao’s response and was begrudgingly satisfied, "Okay, okay, I get it. You two get back now."
After barely bluffing his way through, Zhang Hao breathed a sigh of relief, "What is all this fuss about? As doctors, our duty should be to treat and save people."
"Why do we have to fuss over paperwork? Just think, in the time we’ve been here, I could have seen several patients."
The Director of Surgery couldn’t stop Zhang Hao’s grumbling but gave him an understanding pat on the shoulder.
"Alright, I know what you think, but it’s unavoidable," he said.
With the Director of Surgery’s consolation, Zhang Hao still managed to get back to his department in time.
No sooner had he taken his seat than a patient came over—a scenario he was well accustomed to.
"What’s making you feel unwell?" Zhang Hao asked almost out of habit.
When he looked up, he realized the visitor was Xia Xin.
Her appearance today was vastly different from before, wearing a chiffon dress.
On her feet were a pair of white sneakers, and her hair was braided into a single plait.
A small white daisy decorated the end of her braid.
"You haven’t seen me for such a long time; don’t you miss me? Have you actually forgotten that I’m due for a follow-up today?" Xia Xin tapped her finger on the desk.
Zhang Hao responded, "Since you’re here for a check-up, let me see your test results. If there’s nothing wrong, you can start your new life."
Xia Xin rested her chin in her palm, gazing at Zhang Hao with deep implication, "Why are you so interested in other people’s lives? Do you really want me to have a normal life that much?"
"We aren’t that familiar with each other yet for you to care so much about my life. I’m quite moved," she said.
Zhang Hao gave her a glance and took her test report, "The indicators don’t have any major issues, though you’re still somewhat malnourished."
"But your voice now is not as hoarse as before, it seems you’ve been following the doctor’s orders, not smoking or drinking."
