Chapter 474: Chapter 471: Provoked

The clothes at home were old and no longer appealing to wear, or the styles were simply not trendy enough.

With the remaining eight thousand yuan, they bought two sets of clothes and also picked up some things for Zhang Hao, and to their surprise, there were still a few thousand yuan left unspent.

"We don’t necessarily have to spend all the money today, we can come back another day to buy some other things," Zhang Hao said. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

He Qianhui felt that Zhang Hao made some sense, so she didn’t argue with him.

In the end, the two of them returned home with large and small bags in tow.

Back at home, Zhang Hao half-knelt on the sofa, massaging He Qianhui’s shoulders.

"Wife, you worked hard at your job today, let me massage your shoulders to relax you."

He Qianhui, seeing his unusual eagerness, became somewhat suspicious, "What’s going on? Did you do something wrong today?"

Zhang Hao chuckled and said, "Not at all. I just see how hard you work, and besides, your boss appreciates you so much, who knows, maybe in the future, you’ll be given even tougher tasks to tackle."

"Give me your phone," He Qianhui didn’t buy his nonsensical talk.

Zhang Hao hesitated, and his hands paused, "Why do you suddenly want my phone? My phone isn’t as good as yours; yours cost ten thousand yuan, mine only three thousand."

"Hand it over," He Qianhui ignored his evasive arguments.

Zhang Hao eventually handed his phone to her, and she checked his WeChat friends.

"Who is this person? I’ve never seen them before."

Just what she’d feared, the person He Qianhui pointed to was that patient.

"Her? She added me a while ago; she’s a patient who needs to get her body in order to get pregnant normally," Zhang Hao explained.

"I never thought you, as a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, would cover everything, including obstetrics and gynecology," He Qianhui remarked with sarcasm.

Zhang Hao thought for a moment, then found an excuse, "Well, a doctor has to be versatile. If one only specializes in one area, how will they lead the charge when a big issue arises? So, you see, your husband has to be adaptable."

"Has she ever messaged you since she added you?" He Qianhui asked.

"Yeah, but it’s all been boring stuff," Zhang Hao said.

He Qianhui always felt that something was off about this person, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on what. It might have been a woman’s intuition.

"It’s not that I really want to check your phone, I just thought your behavior today was a bit strange."

When Zhang Hao heard this, he quickly denied it, "How have I been strange? Isn’t it okay for me to treat you well? Should I act like those irritable men who make their wives support them with laundry and cooking as soon as they get home and if things aren’t right, beat them up? Am I that kind of person?"

He Qianhui also realized that what he did today might have been somewhat inappropriate.

"Alright, it’s my fault, I wronged you, okay?"

"Just saying sorry doesn’t cut it; it’s not going to be that easy."

He Qianhui was taken aback, and before she could ask what would suffice, Zhang Hao had already swept her into his arms and into the bedroom.

Neither of them was particularly tired today, so they could go for a big battle tonight.

The battle lasted two to three hours, with the two of them going at it again and again until the condoms in the drawer were all used up.

Zhang Hao was too lazy to go downstairs to buy more, so the last time he just went ahead without any precautions.

But since they had already done quite a bit the first two times, not much came out on the third.

Besides, He Qianhui was so exhausted she was panting. Finally, they both fell asleep without cleaning up properly.

It wasn’t until the next morning that Zhang Hao woke up, recalling how he had fallen asleep in a daze the night before.

He immediately carried He Qianhui to the bathroom, cleaned up carefully, and then the two of them went downstairs for breakfast, ready for work.

They had rested for two weeks, half a month’s time.

Zhang Hao’s sudden return to work took the whole department a bit by surprise.

When Qin Miaoke saw Zhang Hao, she was slightly taken aback, "Director, you finally came to work. I thought you had resigned."

Zhang Hao squinted at her, "How could I not work? I still need to make money to support my family."

Qin Miaoke chuckled, and Yu, who was nearby, quickly brought over Zhang Hao’s white coat.

"Hurry up and change, Director. Patients have been looking for you these past few days, and I guess they will be coming today as well."

Just as Zhang Hao had put on his white coat, the female neighbor living across the door came over early in the morning.

"Doctor Zhang, how come you didn’t let me know you were coming to work? If my husband hadn’t seen you driving off, I wouldn’t have known at all," said the female neighbor.

Zhang Hao smiled and replied, "Didn’t I tell your husband a long time ago? Didn’t he tell you?"

The woman thought for a moment, "He seems to have told me, but I’ve been quite busy these past two days and forgot. Good thing I came early. Could you give me a checkup first?"

Zhang Hao gestured for her to proceed, and the woman sat down on the stool beside the examination table.

She had just stretched out her hand when Zhang Hao felt her pulse.

"Doctor Zhang, I have been very careful not to miss any of the medicine you prescribed. I have almost finished it. Is it time to change the prescription?"

Zhang Hao didn’t answer immediately, instead feeling the woman’s radial artery.

A few minutes later, he lifted his hand, "The current situation looks good. It seems that you’re almost done with the medicine."

"This time, you don’t need to change the prescription; continue with it. Go have a checkup at the gynecology department later, and I’ll look at the results when I get home this evening."

The woman thanked him profusely, and as she left, other patients flooded in like a tide, almost all looking for Zhang Hao.

Although the other two practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine were also seeing patients, they were nowhere near as busy as Zhang Hao.

After a whole day, Zhang Hao was so busy he didn’t even have time to eat. If he hadn’t really needed to go, he probably wouldn’t have had the chance to use the restroom.

After that busy day, Zhang Hao realized that no one is made of iron, and one must rest when it’s time to rest.

Taking advantage of the off-peak hours without patients, Zhang Hao hurried home.

As soon as he entered the door, he found that He Qianhui had already gotten off work and was chatting with the female neighbor.

The female neighbor quickly showed Zhang Hao the results of her daytime examination.

Looking at the results, Zhang Hao nodded in approval, "There’s nothing to worry about; the results are much better than before."

The female neighbor couldn’t believe it and cupped her face in her hands, "Doctor Zhang, you’re not trying to scare me, are you? Is my health really better than before?"

Zhang Hao put the examination report aside and asked her in the calmest tone,

"How do you feel yourself? Have your energy and strength been restored during this period?"

The woman thought for a moment and realized it was indeed the case. At least now she could last a few minutes longer with her husband every night.

Seeing her blushing, He Qianhui knew what she was thinking.

"Oh my, why do you always ask people these questions? Her husband will be back soon. Why don’t we go out to eat tonight," she said.

Zhang Hao did not refuse, and after waiting half an hour, the female neighbor’s husband came home.

After discussing, they all agreed almost instantly, and He Qianhui, carrying the shopping card from the big boss, arrived at the mall again.

This time, she was determined to spend the card down to the last penny.

Thus, they indulged in luxury dining, not giving a second thought to the prices on the menu.

For a moment, the female neighbor worried if He Qianhui had been upset by something.
