Chapter 424: Chapter 421 Loosen Up

Just a neighbor, and yet he suddenly became concerned about their whereabouts.

Zhang Hao wasn’t sure if the person had done it intentionally or not and chose to give a simple answer.

"They went back to their hometown, they’re not home these past two days."

The female neighbor nodded as though she was taking the matter very seriously.

"I see, I thought you guys were moving, Doctor Zhang, do you have a moment later?"

Zhang Hao felt a noticeable chill, but quickly recovered.

"There’s nothing important, what’s the matter?"

"I’m not feeling well, could I trouble you to take a look at me?"

It was only then that Zhang Hao noticed that her complexion wasn’t great.

"Sure, let me just put these things back home first."

All three went upstairs, with He Qianhui leading the way to open the door.

Zhang Hao carrying his belongings entered the room, also letting the female neighbor come in with him.

"I’ll go make some tea first, take your time checking on her."

Zhang Hao said with a hint of disbelief, "What, do you think I’m not serious about my work? Doubting my character?"

After grabbing the tea leaves and boiling water, He Qianhui came out of the kitchen with the brewed tea.

"We don’t have any good tea leaves at home, just make do with it."

The female neighbor thanked her continuously and only then did she let Zhang Hao examine her.

When facing a patient, Zhang Hao was always very serious.

Even if it wasn’t in a hospital examination room.

Being their first time at someone else’s home, the female neighbor found everything intriguing.

"The decoration of your house seems a bit old, have you ever thought of renovating it?"

After hearing this, He Qianhui laughed and said, "We are just tenants here, not the owners, and we’re going to move out after a while."

Upon hearing this, a look of surprise flashed across the female neighbor’s face.

"Isn’t it nice living here? Why are you suddenly moving out?"

"Because the new house has been renovated, we’re just airing it out now."

After saying this, He Qianhui went into the kitchen to busy herself.

"A new house, and you two aren’t married yet?"

Zhang Hao didn’t know how to answer, so he diverted the subject for the moment.

"Your body is indeed somewhat weak; it might be related to the recent hot and dry weather."

The female neighbor sighed, "My body has been frail for years, and I don’t know what kind of treatment would truly work."

"I had thought that having a doctor as a neighbor could help me get better, but it turns out you are about to move away."

Zhang Hao took a drink of water to moisten his somewhat dry throat.

He always felt that the female neighbor’s words were a bit illogical.

"If you’re not feeling well, you should go to the hospital to find out what’s wrong. Even if your neighbor has a doctorate in medicine, he doesn’t have the power to bring the dead back to life."

Zhang Hao said this with a bit of exaggeration of course.

But it was also not hard to understand.

"It seems that I really need to go to the hospital for a comprehensive checkup tomorrow."

Zhang Hao nodded, "The hospital has all the necessary equipment, they can quickly determine what’s wrong with you."

Although Zhang Hao was currently the head of the Traditional Chinese Medicine department, he never deliberately mythologized his field.

"Which hospital do you work at, Doctor Zhang? I’ll make an appointment right away, it’s easier when you know someone."

Zhang Hao hesitated at this, mumbling and unable to give a straight answer for a long time.

In the end, it was actually He Qianhui who stepped in to explain.

"He’s just a department head, not a big leader in the hospital, and physical examinations aren’t in his field of work, so he might not be able to help you much."

Between the lines, there was a hint of rejection, and He Qianhui felt the female neighbor should also be a smart person, able to understand the implicit message in those words.

"Yeah, I can’t really leave my department, so I’m afraid I won’t be of much help to you," he said. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

The female neighbor softly uttered an "oh" as her eyes wandered before she got up to leave.

Zhang Hao saw her to the door and as he was about to close it, the female neighbor said, "So, Doctor Zhang, can my health be managed with Chinese medicine?"

"I keep hearing from others that Western medicine treats the symptoms but not the root cause, and I want to treat the root."

To this, Zhang Hao still recommended that she get a check-up first.

They would consider which treatment method to adopt after the results came back.

After closing the door, He Qianhui suddenly bumped into Zhang Hao’s chest, pinning him against the door.

"You seemed quite concerned about this female neighbor today, hurrying to bring her up here for a check-up," she remarked.

Zhang Hao, caught off guard, had no idea what kind of game He Qianhui was playing.

"What’s gotten into you? Just before, you were praising me for my ’physician’s benevolent heart,’ and now you’re jealous?" he asked.

"Who’s jealous? Don’t think I can’t tell that the female neighbor is interested in you. I remember she’s supposed to have a boyfriend."

Even though He Qianhui denied being jealous, her behavior clearly indicated that she was, indeed, jealous.

Another meaning of a woman being jealous is that she cares in her heart.

Seeing the woman he liked so concerned about him made Zhang Hao’s heart burst with joy like fireworks.

"Even if she did like me, it would be one-sided. As long as I don’t respond, you have nothing to fear," he assured her.

He Qianhui began to trace circles on Zhang Hao’s chest with her fingertip.

The sensation was magnified through the fabric between them.

It was a tingling feeling, irresistible.

"Xiaohui, you..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Zhang Hao suddenly furrowed his brows.

"Let go, quickly!" Zhang Hao pleaded loudly.

At his urgent request, He Qianhui finally released her grip.

Looking at the ring of bite marks on his clothes, encircling that particular spot.

"Does it hurt?"

Zhang Hao’s instincts told him there was deception in her question.

So, he replied very cautiously.

"It’s okay, not terribly painful."

No sooner had he spoken than He Qianhui opened her mouth, planning to bite the same spot again.

This time, Zhang Hao reacted quickly and covered the key areas with his hands.

"What are you doing? Although a man’s parts may not be very useful, you can’t just bite them willy-nilly," he protested.

He Qianhui appeared unconcerned, especially with that scheming look on her face, which made Zhang Hao nervous.

He had no idea what dishonest thing she might do next.

"It’s your fault for saying it didn’t hurt just now. If there’s no pain, there’s no lesson learned. My intention here is to make you remember," she explained.

After moving Zhang Hao’s hands away, He Qianhui bit down again.

The pain came, and Zhang Hao was not idle, although he did not choose "an eye for an eye."

Using his height advantage, his hands began to grab and pinch her rounded parts.

After just a couple of squeezes, she couldn’t take it and let go on her own accord.

"You... rascal!"

"Right, I am a rascal, and it’s not like you didn’t know that from day one," he replied.

By admitting it, Zhang Hao actually left He Qianhui at a loss for words.

Seeing her so flustered that her face turned red and her neck puffed, Zhang Hao couldn’t help but laugh.

"Don’t be angry. Do you know that angry women can turn ugly?" he teased.

The proud He Qianhui, imitating Zhang Hao’s action, fiercely grabbed between his legs.
