Chapter 397: Chapter 394: Injuring Muscles and Bones
Zhang Hao had no idea which words he spoke made that woman laugh incessantly.
After having written the prescription and instructing them to get the medicine, the woman just kept looking at her man instead.
Suddenly, she elbowed him, "If it doesn’t work this time, let’s break up."
"I’m still young, and I don’t want to be with a useless man."
In front of so many people, it was truly baffling how this woman could reject her other half like this.
But then again, when he thought about it, young people nowadays were no longer like those of the past.
Never mind whether the two individuals could truly be together in the future.
First, they must strip and try it out in bed to see if they were suitable—whether it concerned size, length, or stamina.
They must be compatible in every aspect before they could move on to the next step.
If they weren’t compatible, they might just become strangers as soon as they got out of bed.
"Doctor Zhang, whether I can be happy this time is all relying on this prescription you gave," she said.
Hearing the woman’s words, Zhang Hao’s forehead began to break out in tiny beads of sweat, wondering what on earth this was all about.
He was just a doctor, treating people’s illnesses, not Cupid matching lovers’ fates.
"I didn’t guarantee anything, I just prescribed the right medicine for the condition," he said.
Upon hearing Zhang Hao’s words, the woman’s face suddenly turned ugly.
"Mr. Zhang, what do you mean by that? You’d better not forget, our relationship is not ordinary," she said.
Now it was Zhang Hao’s turn to look uncomfortable.
He laughed instead of getting angry, "What kind of relationship do we have?"
The woman cleared her throat and said with feigned seriousness, "You may very well have Xiaohui as your bridesmaid when you get married in the future."
"We have known each other for so long, you’ll definitely need to ask me to be the bridesmaid when you marry."
"And after you get married, I’ll need to invite you to my own wedding banquet. Considering Xiaohui’s face, our relationship surely can’t be ordinary, can it?"
"So why can’t you write a prescription that’s a one-step solution? Could it be that the way your hospital makes money is by having patients on long-term medication?"
"I don’t really believe what’s said on the internet, but at least I believe Doctor Zhang, you wouldn’t do that," she continued.
Zhang Hao understood her insinuation, "All medications come with their own risks, and too much can always be bad for the body."
"If this prescription works, why worry about anything else? The body’s functions are a miraculous thing," he added.
"Sometimes, a weak body can’t bear supplements, and over-supplementing can also overwhelm it. As for those online opinions,"
"True or false, who can really tell? Since the two of you plan to go on a trip, it would be better to start taking this medicine a day in advance," he advised.
The woman didn’t seem too pleased with his official-sounding words earlier.
But it wasn’t until this last sentence that she realized the severity of the issue.
"Oh, right. Then, Doctor Zhang, I won’t disturb you at work any longer. I need to go get the medicine," she said.
"If my man truly regains his vigor after taking this medicine, I will personally present you with a banner of appreciation," she promised.
The woman, tugging on her man, hurriedly left the consultation room.
As soon as she left, the other two doctors came straight up to Zhang Hao.
Even without saying anything, their expressions already betrayed their thoughts.
"I know what you want to ask, and it’s true that in the area of male health, I have my own unique approach," Zhang Hao confessed.
"When you two get to that age, you can also come to me, and I’ll give you a 20% discount."
The other two doctors snorted upon hearing what Zhang Hao said and sulkily returned to their own seats.
Qin Miaoke was already used to this, but the young nurse was still a bit uncomfortable.
"Mr. Zhang, our department is Chinese medicine, not urology or andrology."
Zhang Hao raised an eyebrow and said with a smile, "Every specialty ultimately serves the same purpose. Since I can treat it, why not do so?"
"You’ll see this kind of thing again in the future. Just get used to it and don’t make a fuss."
Qin Miaoke pulled the nurse aside and whispered in her ear, "I remember when I first came here, there was even a woman who couldn’t self-lubricate."
"She came here looking for Mr. Zhang to find a solution. Whether we’ll see more cases like that in the future depends on chance."
Looking at the nurse’s surprised expression, it was clear that she didn’t know much.
Zhang Hao, in order to keep this department as the last pure land, free from pollution,
promptly interrupted Qin Miaoke, "Alright, alright, let’s not talk about this anymore. It’s better to focus on your work. The patient will be arriving soon."
I thought I’d be run off my feet this morning, but here I am, bored out of my mind.
Though such situations are not happening all the time.
As the end of the shift draws near, Zhang Hao has already taken out his lunchbox, just waiting for the clock to strike so he can head to the canteen to get his meal.
With five minutes left to the end of the shift, a woman hopped into the clinic with the help of a friend,
or rather, she jumped on one leg to get in front of Zhang Hao.
Seeing her other foot without a shoe and with obvious swelling around the ankle, he guessed she likely had a sprain.
The friend handed over the X-ray they had taken to Zhang Hao.
"Mr. Zhang, we just came from surgery. They said there are no issues with the bone, but it needs to be set back into place," the friend said.
Zhang Hao lifted the X-ray for a glance and confirmed that there was no problem with the bones, just some displacement.
"Alright, take her to the treatment room first, I’ll be right over."
Seeing both of his colleagues getting ready for lunch, Zhang Hao felt rather helpless.
Qin Miaoke picked up Zhang Hao’s lunchbox and asked, "Mr. Zhang, what are you having today, the usual three dishes?"
Zhang Hao thought for a moment and nodded, "Yes, if there are any new dishes, add those too, thanks."
The hospital canteen always serves meals on time, and it’s often crowded with not just staff,
but also patients and their families. One can have a balanced meal for very little money.
For Zhang Hao, this was quite convenient, sparing him the daily hassle of deciding what to eat for lunch.
Meanwhile, Zhang Hao arrived in the treatment room and saw that the woman was already seated on the bed.
Only then did he notice she was wearing a skirt. However, she had tucked it between her legs,
making it appear like pants, to avoid any exposure.
"What happened here?" Zhang Hao asked curiously.
"High heels. I was walking too fast, and I twisted my ankle on the stairs. At first, it was just a little painful," the woman explained.
"But later, it hurt so much I couldn’t walk, and that’s when I thought to come to the hospital. After the X-ray, they said the bones were displaced."
"It was only two steps; how could it be so serious? Thankfully, it’s not a fracture."
"Otherwise, with injuries to muscles and bones taking a hundred days to heal, I would need to rest for three months at home, which would really disrupt my work."
