Chapter 392: Chapter 389 Unstoppable

The two of them now were completely inseparable, ready to do anything for each other.

So much so that Zhang Hao was convinced He Qianhui would definitely keep her word.

"Let’s eat, let’s eat, let’s not talk about anything else for now."

From Zhang Hao’s reaction, it was clear he had realized the seriousness of the situation.

"Alright, we won’t talk about it."

Though the portion of crawfish wasn’t that much upon careful counting, He Qianhui didn’t keep it all for herself.

She peeled half of them and placed them in a small bowl for Zhang Hao to swallow in one gulp.

However, Zhang Hao wasn’t particularly fond of this delicacy.

"In a few days, the home appliances will be delivered. Do you have time?"

Zhang Hao drained the beer can in one swig, "When’s the exact date? I’ll ask for leave."

"The 18th, about three days from now."

Zhang Hao hummed in agreement, "No problem, but remind me again on the 17th. I’m afraid I might forget because of the hospital’s workload."

Seeing how decisive and straightforward Zhang Hao’s response was, He Qianhui was surprised; after all, it wasn’t a big deal, since the delivery guys from the appliance store would handle everything.

She only needed to supervise, without even having to lift a finger.

Yet for such a small matter, Zhang Hao didn’t refuse at all, which made He Qianhui feel much happier than those female colleagues at the company.

At that thought, He Qianhui couldn’t resist hugging Zhang Hao’s neck and planted two hard kisses on his face.

Zhang Hao was taken aback by He Qianhui’s unusual behavior, covering his face and asking, "What’s gotten into you, being so passionate all of a sudden?"

He Qianhui just smiled without a word, her eyes brimming with happiness that couldn’t fool anyone.

Zhang Hao shook his head, wondering what had gotten into her tonight.

By the time the two went to bed, it was almost one in the morning.

Going to bed so late meant that waking up in the morning was going to be extremely difficult.

To sleep in a bit longer, Zhang Hao simply skipped breakfast and arrived at the hospital just in time for work.

Before he even entered the department, he heard a child crying inside and almost thought his department had turned into a pediatric ward overnight.

Upon entering, he realized it was another doctor attempting to reset a dislocated shoulder for a young patient.

Initially, Zhang Hao didn’t pay much attention, but seeing the child continue to wail, he became curious and went over to see what was happening.

He discovered that the doctor lacked experience in setting bones, and improper handling naturally caused the child a lot of distress.

"Come, let me handle this."

The child’s family couldn’t detect this subtlety, and the doctor was sweating from his forehead with relief.

He didn’t say anything, but his heart was full of gratitude for Zhang Hao, for coming to their aid in a crisis.

Zhang Hao examined the child’s dislocated area, and it seemed a simple lift, twist, and turn was all it took to successfully pop the arm back into place.

"All done, but when you go home, don’t use this arm too much. It needs to recover for a few days. If it’s not taken care of, it will dislocate easily in the future."

The family remembered the doctor’s advice well.

After handling this minor issue, Zhang Hao returned to his desk.

The department suddenly felt like it was missing something without the competent nurse there.

Moreover, the work that originally belonged to Lin Wan was now evenly distributed among the other staff members.

Qin Miaoke was the first to feel overwhelmed. By lunch break, she couldn’t help but go over to Zhang Hao to complain.

"Mr. Zhang, could we ask the head nurse to assign another all-around nurse to our department?"

Zhang Hao’s expression was also quite serious. If it were just an ordinary nurse, he felt that there might be a possibility.

But an all-around nurse, that’s like a jewel, and comparatively, departments like surgery and internal medicine are more in need of such nurses.

"You think I’m the hospital president or what? When I go to the leadership office, I have to nod and bow; what authority do I have to make so many requests?"

When Qin Miaoke heard what Zhang Hao said, her spirits fell sharply.

"What are we going to do now? Thankfully, we don’t have that many inpatients here."

However, Qin Miaoke’s words turned prophetic, as that afternoon all the beds in the Chinese medicine department were filled.

There were elderly people with leg and foot pains coming in for acupuncture observation, those with vascular diseases arriving for physical therapy rehabilitation, and even those with lower back pain seeking massage therapy.

That afternoon, including Zhang Hao, the three doctors truly experienced what’s known as ’not having a moment to rest.’

By the time it was off-duty, Zhang Hao sat in his chair without the desire to move.

However, the three nurses weren’t as exhausted by comparison.

Qin Miaoke also refrained from teasing and thoughtfully brought over a cup of water to soothe Zhang Hao’s throat.

"Exhausted, right? I did tell you to go and ask the leaders for more hands."

It’s definitely correct to need more hands, but an all-around nurse can’t substitute for a doctor.

The patients that came in this afternoon all required the doctors’ attention; the nurses couldn’t handle them.

To avoid the possibility of more patients coming later, Zhang Hao took a sip of water and hurriedly packed up, fleeing.

His escape was witnessed by the anesthesiologist Han Yang, looking so frantic as if his backside was on fire.

With this curiosity, Han Yang wasn’t in a rush to go home after work; he made a special trip to the Chinese medicine department to see what exactly had happened.

To see a department head in such panic, if the leaders saw it, they might even give a reprimand.

When Han Yang arrived at the Chinese medicine department, he found it was already empty, guessing now he could only wait until work the next day to ask.

However, remembering he was in the hospital’s work group chat, he reckoned he could glean some insight there about what had actually happened.

The moment Han Yang’s message was sent out, replies immediately bubbled up.

"Heard Chinese medicine was so busy today they were off the charts!"

"Probably Mr. Zhang was afraid more patients would come, so he ran off first."

"Mr. Zhang, is that true? Come on, answer us!"

Several people responded, with the exception of Zhang Hao keeping his head down. But Han Yang wasn’t in a hurry, as she was merely curious.

When Zhang Hao got home, he finally saw the messages in the group chat. Initially, he thought of not replying since he usually didn’t talk much there.

But the chat was unusually lively today, and after all, they were all colleagues.

The most important thing was that his image at the hospital was also that of a cool, aloof character.

"What are you thinking about, standing at the door like a guardian deity?" He Qianhui teased.

Zhang Hao responded, "Work group chat. An anesthesiologist saw me running off when I left work today, thinking I had some urgent matter."

Had Zhang Hao not mentioned it, He Qianhui would not have been curious, but now that he did, her curiosity naturally piqued.

"So why were you running, not walking, when you left work today? I suppose running is not allowed in your hospital either."

To this, Zhang Hao had a rather good answer.

"I don’t know what happened this afternoon, but a whole bunch of patients came to the Chinese medicine department."

"I was afraid of being forced to do overtime if I left late, so I didn’t stop for anything and left the hospital immediately."
