Chapter 339: Chapter 336: Opening the Door to Let Spring Light In
"Yeah, just as you stepped out, someone came knocking at the door. I thought it was a hotel staff member, so I opened it."
"Turned out it was a foreigner with blond hair and blue eyes, really handsome. But as soon as he saw me and checked the room number, he said ’sorry’ and left."
Zhang Hao hesitated, but the knocking continued, so he rushed to open the door.
To his surprise, the person who had appeared was the same woman he had just ridden the elevator with.
"Good morning, Mr. Zhang. My husband can’t use this item," she said.
The woman handed over the two packages to Zhang Hao.
"Can’t use it, huh? Seems like it was too small," he joked.
The woman shook her head: "Actually, it’s a bit large. It fell off before it could even take effect."
"Looks like I should buy him another one. Nevertheless, thank you for your kindness. We haven’t used the rest, so I hope you won’t mind."
After returning the items to Zhang Hao, the woman turned and walked away.
Watching the woman’s retreating figure, Zhang Hao looked at the items in his hand and casually tossed them into the trash bin.
Even though the items weren’t cheap, having been handled by someone else, he didn’t dare to use them again.
Perhaps this was one of the drawbacks of being a doctor.
Upon returning, He Qianhui, soaking in the water, asked him who the visitor was.
"It was just a neighbor, nothing important. Don’t worry about it," he replied.
Seeing that Zhang Hao said so, she really didn’t worry about it.
He Qianhui closed her eyes to relax, enjoying the comfort of the warm water, and gradually her eyelids became heavy.
Eventually, she fell asleep, not even knowing how she got back to bed. By the time she awoke, it was already the next morning.
The hotel didn’t include breakfast, so the couple had to go out to eat.
But it was midsummer, so the days broke early, and the morning was still cool.
Zhang Hao got up to wash up, and soon, the two of them stepped out of the hotel.
There was a wide variety of breakfast options available. Just as Zhang Hao was about to eat,
suddenly a woman greeted him.
Upon closer inspection, he realized it was the female cashier from the convenience store the day before.
Seeing her again, Zhang Hao also greeted her warmly.
"Wow, Mr. Zhang, is this your girlfriend? She’s so beautiful, just like a TV star. You’re really lucky," she exclaimed.
"Of course, I am lucky. But hey, you’re not doing too badly yourself. Where’s your boyfriend?" he asked.
The cashier replied indifferently, "He’s gone to work, and I have to go soon too, just stopped to buy a couple of buns."
He Qianhui stood by, watching their conversation with what might be an awkward expression on her face.
After the woman left with her buns, He Qianhui questioned him.
"I didn’t expect that on your first day here, you’d already get so chummy with the locals. Have you been here before?"
Zhang Hao raised his hands above his head in a surrender gesture: "My wife, please don’t slander me like that. I’ve never done anything of the sort."
Seeing his exaggerated reaction, He Qianhui knew for sure he hadn’t been here before.
But given Zhang Hao’s outgoing nature, coupled with his good looks,
it was quite possible that girls would take the initiative to approach him.
"You know, you are dangerous waters for us women. Thankfully, you’re already taken," she said.
"If you were still a bachelor, there’s no telling how many women would fight over you, bloodied and bruised."
Zhang Hao found He Qianhui’s statement quite amusing.
"If I were really a bachelor, would you be jealous too?" he wondered.
He Qianhui glanced him up and down then quickly lowered her head to sip her seaweed egg drop soup.
Seeing that she didn’t respond, Zhang Hao felt greatly wounded inside.
"If you don’t speak, I’ll take your silence as a yes,"
"You would definitely fight with those women tooth and nail to win me over—I know you must like me,"
Seeing his narcissism, He Qianhui really had no idea what to do anymore.
During the day, both of them wandered outside.
In fact, there wasn’t anything particularly special here: just the endless sea and some tropical fruits unique to the area.
After a whole day, it was hard to say how much they had spent and how much food and drink they had bought.
Anyways, by the time they got back to the hotel, both were completely exhausted and had no interest in anything.
"How about we order some takeout and get some milk tea?"
"Sure, but I need to take a shower first."
Zhang Hao ordered the takeout on his phone and just as he finished, he remembered something and hurriedly left the suite.
He thought he’d be back in less than ten minutes, but it ended up taking him half an hour without success.
Meanwhile, the takeout had already arrived.
He Qianhui, wrapped in a bath towel, was scrolling through her phone on the couch when she heard someone knocking at the door, thinking it was Zhang Hao returning.
She got up to open the door, complaining that he didn’t even take his room key and made her open the door.
But when she opened it, she saw a delivery guy in uniform.
Since it was the delivery guy, He Qianhui immediately adjusted her demeanor.
"Are you Mr. Zhang? This is his ordered milk tea,"
He Qianhui reached out to take it but unfortunately, her bath towel unraveled and fell open.
She wasn’t wearing anything underneath, and the delivery guy, confronted with such a sight, couldn’t help but stare wide-eyed.
He Qianhui quickly put the milk tea on the floor, picked up her bath towel, and wrapped herself again.
"All set, all set, your delivery has arrived, thank you."
He Qianhui quickly tried to shut the door, but the delivery guy put his hand out to stop it.
"Babe, did you do that on purpose? I’ve seen plenty of movies on the internet, you know, and if you need help, I can help you."
He Qianhui furrowed her brow, "What nonsense are you talking about? Haven’t you ever seen someone shower before?"
He Qianhui cursed under her breath just as she saw Zhang Hao coming out of the elevator, yelling out loud.
Zhang Hao, hearing the commotion, immediately quickened his step.
Upon seeing the delivery guy and then He Qianhui’s embarrassed face, he guessed what had happened.
"Sorry for the inconvenience, I was out; I’ll take it from here,"
The delivery guy, seeing another man stepping in, scoffed discontentedly and quickly left to deliver the next order.
Zhang Hao watched the delivery guy’s retreating figure and after a moment’s hesitation, he dialed the front desk’s customer service.
He contacted the hotel front desk to inquire about any available rooms and asked to change rooms.
He didn’t want that delivery guy taking advantage of his absence to come looking for her during his off-hours.
He definitely didn’t want He Qianhui to encounter such a sleazy person.
Luckily, it wasn’t the peak tourist season.
The hotel had plenty of rooms available, and the reason Zhang Hao gave was reasonable.
Before long, they had moved to a new room.
He Qianhui had been quite frightened by the little incident that had occurred that day
"If I had known, I would have changed into clothes. It’s all because that bath towel was tied so loosely."
"It’s all right, we’ve already switched rooms, haven’t we? That guy won’t be able to find you again."
He Qianhui sipped her milk tea with resentment—this sweet milk tea tasted bland to her now.
