Chapter 259: Chapter 256 I’m Not a Casual Person

"Xiaohui, someone is looking at us."

He Qianhui peeled a banana and opened her mouth to gulp down more than half of it in one bite.

The banana was sweet and soft, and only after she swallowed did she slowly speak, "What’s there to be afraid of? They’re all a bunch of cowards with desires."

Feng Nuo immediately understood the situation and no longer worried about those sneaky glances.

After breakfast, He Qianhui received a call from a client, arranging for the two of them to visit the factory today. If there were no issues, they could discuss the next steps.

Upon receiving this news, Feng Nuo was the happiest, as she had been most afraid of losing her job when she learned the company was conducting lay-offs from the bottom up.

This kind of last-place elimination is not uncommon in the industry, and switching to another company would not only waste time but also be very distressing.

Now she only needed to close this deal to escape being at the bottom.

"Okay, we’ll head over right away."

He Qianhui hung up the phone with a pleasant tone and pulled Feng Nuo back to the room, selecting a set of strategically chosen clothes from the suitcase.

"Xiaohui, aren’t we wearing work uniforms?"

"No need, can you use this?"

He Qianhui took out a box containing pasties, with two pairs left inside – just enough for one for each of them.

When Feng Nuo opened it and saw what it was, her face instantly turned red.

"Hurry up, don’t waste time. The client is waiting," urged He Qianhui.

He Qianhui changed her clothes in front of Feng Nuo with ease, using a pair of pasties on sensitive areas first.

Thinking that if Xiaohui didn’t care, why should she, someone with a flat chest, worry? Besides, wearing a bra really was uncomfortable.

After changing, He Qianhui even took the time to adjust Feng Nuo’s outfit.

"Next time you go on a business trip on your own, you must remember to use your advantages. For men, what they can’t have is the best."

Feng Nuo nodded vigorously. Her most prized feature was her legs, but she herself was conservative, opting for the most conservative professional outfits.

In similar clothes, she looked plain and unfashionable.

Lifting her skirt up more than ten centimeters revealed her straight legs, igniting someone’s fantasies.

Upon leaving the hotel, the car that came to pick them up had already been waiting for quite a while. Compared to He Qianhui, Feng Nuo was still a bit restrained.

She took the initiative to sit in the back, leaving the front passenger seat for He Qianhui.

Once in the car, He Qianhui was full of schemes. While fastening her seatbelt, she ’accidentally’ failed to grab it.

The client saw and offered to help.

He Qianhui also subconsciously adjusted her posture, pushing her chest forward.

"Miss He, you have a great figure, is it all natural?"

"Of course, I was well-fed during puberty."

The client paused for a moment while pulling the seatbelt across her chest, his hand almost grazing her as he did so.

He Qianhui’s face bore a faint smile, without saying a word.

Fastening a seatbelt was usually a matter of seconds, but for Feng Nuo sitting in the back, it felt like centuries had passed.

Finally, it was done, and the car started.

Meanwhile, in the hospital.

Zhang Hao arrived at the department, and the family of a female patient immediately came up with the check-up results from the previous day.

He glanced over the results and values; she was recovering well and could be discharged to recover at home.

However, the patient’s family was still worried. Not being medical professionals, a broken arm was not a minor issue.

If an infection occurred at home, they wouldn’t know how to handle it and preferred to stay in the hospital for a few more days of observation.

But Zhang Hao insisted the patient be discharged and to come back to the hospital if any problem arose.

After quite some effort in persuading the family, they agreed to proceed with the discharge.

Yet, Zhang Hao was still not at ease. Taking advantage of the moment when there were no patients in the department, he went specifically to the ward to see if anyone needed help.

No one knew why he was so eager until the female patient got into the car to go home, and Zhang Hao finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Hey!"

Suddenly, someone patted Zhang Hao’s shoulder, startling him into quickly turning around.

"Miaoke, why are you out here, is everything okay in the department?"

Qin Miaoke, with hands in her pockets, eyed Zhang Hao, "We’ve had patients discharged from our department before, but you were never as enthusiastic as you were today."

The real reason was something Zhang Hao couldn’t possibly admit, "Well, you said it yourself, that was in the past. I am passionate as fire now!"

Others might believe him, but Qin Miaoke wouldn’t buy it, not even a punctuation mark’s worth.

And she believed that something the female patient said or did must have caused Zhang Hao to act so out of character.

Back in the department, Zhang Hao hummed a tune cheerfully, leading the other two doctors to ask curiously if he had won the lottery.

"Happier than winning the lottery!"

No sooner had he spoken than a familiar person arrived.

Gu Yue!

"Doctor Zhang, you seem quite relaxed."

Seeing her, Zhang Hao immediately toned down his joy.

"Stealing a moment in the midst of busyness., why are you here?"

There was no need for an extensive introduction of Gu Yue’s identity; if it hadn’t been for her, all the medical workers in the hospital would not have moved from the old, dilapidated building to this bright and clean new location.

"Could you take half a day off for me? I have an important event tonight and need a companion."

Such a brazen request could only come from Gu Yue.

"Mr. Zhang, you should go, we can handle things here."

Zhang Hao hadn’t even had the chance to speak when the other two doctors had already made their stance clear.

With this, he had no choice but to go, and he immediately took off his white coat and left with Gu Yue.

Once in the car, Zhang Hao buckled his seatbelt on his own, not needing Gu Yue’s help.

"We haven’t seen each other for a long time. How have you been doing recently?"

"So-so, my dad has totally handed over the company affairs to me; I’ve been so busy that even my desires aren’t as strong as before."

As the car started and merged into the ceaseless stream of traffic on the main road.

"That won’t do, you still have to find some time to let loose."

Gu Yue turned her head towards him, a smile on her lips as she said:

"I’m not just anyone. Do you think any man could be with me, apart from you?"

Zhang Hao caught a hint in her words and felt a bit happy inside.

"What’s the event tonight, and how should I behave?"

"Just act naturally, and when it’s time for you to shine, don’t hold back."

Given these words, the evening’s event must be important, and Zhang Hao promptly adjusted his mindset.

Out of the corner of his eye, he glimpsed Gu Yue’s outfit for the day—not to say that it was overly formal, but that form-fitting black dress showcased her soft, fair skin.

The most eye-catching thing was the delicate pearl necklace around her neck, emitting a pearlescent glow, impossible to overlook.

After twenty minutes driving on the main road, the car turned onto a smaller road. The further they went, the fewer people there were, but the plants on both sides began to grow more lush.

"Where are we going?" Zhang Hao asked.

"My place, don’t be afraid."

At the end of the small path stood a somewhat aged two-story house with a Western style, one side of the walls completely covered in vigorous ivy.

"So this is your house. It doesn’t feel right to come empty-handed, should I..."

"This is my own home, moved in a month ago, come on in."
