Chapter 95: Tie All Of Them Up Right Now!

Of course, Wendy had lied about being sleepy.

She immediately crawled out of bed after Christian left the room. She had initially planned on packing a suitcase, only to realize that she did not bring anything with her. On top of that, she had no identification documents.

However, she could not afford to linger. Since she was almost fully recovered, she was certain that Christian would either try to force her to go abroad or do something to harm her baby.

She already knew that he was the mastermind behind everything that had happened, but since she had no choice back in the operating theatre, she could only choose to follow him.

To her, Michael and Christian were equally dangerous individuals that she had to stay away from. Her priority right now was to escape.

Once she had made up her mind, she started to tiptoe out of the room. She looked around her, and when she did not see Christian’s men around, she sighed in relief. Just when she thought she could successfully leave this place, she saw the one person that she most wanted to avoid in this world... It was Yvonne.

Yvonne seemed to be heading straight for her.

Wendy immediately turned around, wanting to hide. She was not afraid of Yvonne. She just did not want her to escape plan to be thwarted because of this woman. Unfortunately, Yvonne called her name, "Wendy Stewart, do you really think you can run away like that?"

Yvonne quickened her pace. When Wendy heard her rapidly approaching footsteps, she started running. However, she was still just a pregnant woman, which made it impossible for her to outrun Yvonne. On top of that, Wendy did not dare to run vigorously like before out of fear that something bad would happen to her baby.

At that moment, two men popped up before her, blocking her path. She was forced to stop running.

"You should continue running. Why did you stop?" There was an evil smile on Yvonne’s face when she caught up with Wendy.

"Why are you here?" Wendy swallowed dryly. There was a bad premonition in her heart.

Nothing good could possibly come out of Yvonne’s visit.

"I’m here to get rid of the b’stard in your belly!" said Yvonne. She felt extremely satisfied when she saw the terror in Wendy’s eyes. She knew that Wendy was pregnant with Michael’s baby, and her goal was aligned with Christian’s.

Wendy instinctively clutched her belly. Shaking her head, she screamed desperately, "Help me! Help me!"

"Stop screaming, nobody is going to come and save you," Yvonne sneered, "There is nobody else here."

This was a motel that Christian had found. It was located in a very remote location and had barely any customers.

"How did you know I was here?" said Wendy, even though she already had her suspicions.

There were only two possibilities for Yvonne’s sudden appearance in this place. The first possibility was that Michael had discovered where Wendy was hiding and informed Yvonne about it. The only other possibility was that Christian had simply told her about it. Right now, Wendy could not ascertain which was the truth.

Smiling, Yvonne said, "Of course, it was Michael who told me where you were. He also told me that the baby you’re carrying is b*stard, and he asked me to get rid of it. Since you refuse to undergo an abortion, the only other way is to beat you up until you miscarry." It was frightening how she was saying such cruel Words in such a lighthearted tone.

Naturally, Wendy did not fully trust Yvonne’s story. She looked behind her and saw two men in suits staring at her. Since she had run quite a distance down the hallway, it was unlikely for Christian to hear her even if she shouted for help.

Or perhaps Christian would not appear even if he did hear her cries for help, because he was the one who told Yvonne her whereabouts in the first place.

"Yvonne Taylor, do you know that what you’re doing is illegal?" Wendy tried her best to buy time for herself. "I know that you love Michael, and I’ve agreed to give the both of you my blessings. Let me go and I promise you that I’ll never come back to Lake City or interfere in your relationship with Michael ever again."

...

"Mr. Lucas, something bad has happened," said Mr. York anxiously the moment Michael answered his call. "You asked me to arrange for someone to follow Mrs. Lucas and ensure her safety. I just heard from my informant that she is in grave danger right now."

"What did you say?" Michael immediately stood up from his chair when he heard these words.

His tone grew urgent, and he demanded, "Send me the exact location, I’ll head over right now. Also, activate all the men we have on hand right now and make your way there with them."

Michael had already discovered where Wendy was hiding a long time ago. He never went to get her because he lacked the courage to do so. He initially thought that he could allow her to leave him like that and never see her again.

However, the moment he heard that she was in danger, his first instinct was to go and rescue her immediately.

...

Christian was hiding somewhere unseen and observing the interaction between Wendy and Yvonne. Once again, he found himself applauding Wendy for her intelligence. He could tell that she was still trying to buy herself time even still. Yvonne, on the other hand, was clearly buying right into it. She was wasting a fair amount of time entertaining Wendy’s questions.

Christian also knew that Michael’s men had been watching them all this time, but they were probably lacking in number. This was the reason why he had been forcing Wendy to go abroad. If she agreed, he could make sure that Michael would never find her again.

Just as he had expected, the lone man that Michael had sent to follow Wendy decided to show himself and try to rescue her. However, the two men that were with Yvonne outnumbered him and quickly took care of the situation.

Wendy was dumbfounded when she saw the mysterious man being restrained by Yvonne’s team. She wondered who was helping her right now. She looked around and saw Christian running toward her from a distance.

He stopped before her, panting heavily, "Don’t be afraid, Wendy, I’m here to save you."

When Yvonne saw Christian, she pointed at him, "What are you doing..."

Before she could finish her words, he glared at her sternly. It was crucial that she did not reveal the wrong things at such a moment. If she did, their plan would fall through. Yvonne was dumbfounded, but when she met Christian’s eyes, she swallowed her words.

A big group of men appeared right after Christian showed himself. There seemed to be at least ten of them.

"That’s her! Hurry up, get her! We can threaten Michael Lucas with her!" the leader of the group instructed the others loudly.

Soon, Yvonne was quickly surrounded. She was feeling increasingly confused. Frightened, she asked, "Who are you guys? What are you trying to do?"

"We’ve been following you for so long, and now we finally have you," said the leader of the group with a sneer. "You’re Yvonne Taylor, aren’t you? Michael Lucas’s girlfriend."

"Michael Lucas?" Yvonne seemed to finally understand what was happening. Pointing at Wendy, she yelled, "That’s Michael Lucas’s wife. If you are planning to threaten Michael, you should go for her. She’s also pregnant with his child. Haven’t you seen the news? Michael publicly revealed her identity just a few weeks ago. This is Wendy Stewart."

Now, it was Wendy’s turn to be dumbfounded. What exactly was going on here? Why did it feel like everything was happening at the same time?

From their conversation, she could deduce that these men only wanted Yvonne to get to Michael. If that was the case, then Yvonne’s statements were extremely unfavorable for Wendy.

Just as she had expected, the leader redirected his gaze to her. He went silent for a moment, as though he was contemplating something. Then, he said, "Tie all of them up right now! Then call Michael Lucas and demand ransom!"

"I have nothing to do with Michael Lucas, don’t be fooled by her. I’ll just be an unnecessary deadweight in your mission," said Wendy, in an attempt to get herself out of this situation.

Unfortunately, it did not work. The group of. men captured her as well.

Christian tried resisting, but he could not fight so many people at the same time. After enduring a few punches, he was also taken captive like the rest of them.

Wendy and Yvonne were forced into a van. They sat in the back with two men watching them.

Wendy could not help but think about how unlucky she was. She had escaped from Michael only to fall into Christian’s clutches. It was not easy for her to run away from Christian, but then she ended up running into Yvonne. Just when it seemed like Christian was about to rescue her, she ended up in the hands of kidnappers who had been after Yvonne to get at Michael. On top of that, she was dragged into this mess and tied up alongside Yvonne. She feared that something bad might happen to the both of them if Michael decided not to pay the ransom.

Even if Michael agreed to pay the ransom, that meant that Wendy would end up back in his hands after going through so much to run away from him. At this thought, she glared disdainfully at Yvonne. Coldly, she said, "Yvonne, you truly are a plague."

"Did you just call me a plague?" Yvonne laughed in anger. "Wendy Stewart, if not for you, Michael would have married me a long time ago. And if that had happened, I would be the one pregnant with his child right now. Since you’re his wife and these men are out to get me, you can’t blame me for selling you out."

Since Yvonne had always seen Wendy as an enemy, she would not miss any opportunity to make her suffer.

When one of the kidnappers heard them argue, he roared furiously, "Shut up right now!"

Afterward, he gagged both women and covered their heads with sacks.

Wendy’s vision went dark. She could not see a thing. It was also impossible to tell how long they stayed in the van for, or where they were being taken. The only thing she knew was that it had probably been a few hours since they were taken from the motel. When the sack was finally lifted off her head, she found it difficult to adjust to the light. She blinked repeatedly and it took a while before her vision returned to normal. She looked around her surroundings and found herself on a boat, surrounded by the vast sea.

"Wendy..." Suddenly, a familiar voice rang out beside her ear.

It was Michael!

Wendy was surprised to hear his voice. She had initially thought that she would never see him again. She never expected that they would meet again so soon, and under such circumstances.

"Michael." Yvonne started crying and screaming for help when she saw Michael, "Michael, please help me."

Michael’s gaze remained fixed on Wendy. His heart skipped a beat when he saw the two men on either side of her, holding her hostage. He had rushed over the moment he received Mr. York’s call, but before he arrived at the motel, he received another call from the kidnappers informing him that they had taken his wife and girlfriend captive.

When Michael saw the photos that they sent to his phone and ascertained that Wendy and Yvonne were both in their hands, he followed their instructions and instantly came down here.

"Did you prepare the cash?" asked the masked kidnapper as he stared at Michael.

"Of course, I have 3 million dollars with me right now," said Michael as he tossed two briefcases of money over to the kidnappers, "I have the remaining 97 million dollars in the car."

"Why didn’t you bring everything with you?" the masked kidnapper flew into a rage.

"Do you know how heavy it is to carry 1 billion dollars around?" Michael’s gaze was just as fierce as he stared right back at the masked kidnapper. "You made me board the ship alone, how was I supposed to carry so much cash by myself?"

"I don’t care!" the masked kidnapper threatened him. "Since you failed to obey my instructions, these two women will pay with their lives!"

Of course, he was just bluffing. However, since Wendy and Yvonne were both still being held captive, Michael had no choice but to play along.

"Don’t do that!" said Michael, "I really did prepare the cash for you. Should I ask my men to bring the rest of it over? Or do you prefer to send your men to go and get it?"

"Do you think we’re stupid?" asked the masked kidnapper harshly. "If we let your men board the ship now, they’ll kill us all. And if we send our men to get the cash, they won’t make it back alive."

"Then, what do you want me to do?" Michael’s gaze landed on Wendy again. He was afraid that the man would accidentally hurt her.

Meanwhile, Yvonne’s gaze remained on Michael the entire time. She had never encountered anything like this in her life. She had long since been reduced to tears.
