Chapter 665: Let’s Die Together

"He had said that he was the best hypnosis master in the world, but he was just so-so. I did not expect that you recover those memories so quickly," Christian scorned.

"When did you start to recover your memories or to suspect?"

"Actually, I have not fully recovered my memories," Wendy replied honestly. "Even now, I have only recovered several pieces of memories."

"Then, why are you so sure that I am your enemy and always resist me?" Christian did not understand what he had done wrong.

Whatever he did was what a husband should do.

"It was just my gut feeling. In the beginning, I just felt that I was not close to you, and I did not want to contact you. Then when you said that Michael was a big drug dealer and kidnapped me, I just badly wanted to know who Michael was and what he looked like."

Wendy told him all this to delay time until Michael came. "I know that you did something to our phones. So, when we had lunch yesterday, I borrowed someone else’s phone and searched for information regarding Michael.

"I made sure that Michael was my husband, and you are the big drug dealer instead."

"So, Zen took a cold shower yesterday and made herself have a fever. With this excuse, you asked me to take you to see a doctor," Christian sneered. "Once you were out, you had a chance to look for help, didn’t you?"

"You know everything?" Wendy asked back, frowning.

She thought that Christian did not know.

"Yes, I did. You resisted me from the beginning, so I was also very cautious with you.

But I did not want to believe it.

"I would like to numb myself and tell myself that you will fall in love with me sooner or later since you have lost your memories.

"So, even though I knew that you had pretended to approach me on purpose to win my trust, I was still willing to force myself to believe it." Christian held the chopsticks in his hand, but he did not take any food. But he kept looking at the dishes, "Wendy, I have nothing now.

"HG is gone, DR is gone, I cannot go back to the organization, even you, you never belonged to me."

While he was saying that, he started to cry.

This was the first time Wendy saw Christian like this.

However, she did not feel pity or sorry for him.

"I, Christian, am arrogant for half of my life. I was determined to do everything better than Michael, but in the end, I still have gained nothing," Christian’s head lowered more and more as he was saying that.

Unknowingly, his tears fell on the table.

Christian suddenly looked at Zen, who was next to him.

Yes, there was still Zen.

Didn’t Zen love him so much?

Christian thought of something and took out a small bag of powder from his pocket.

Then he poured the powder into a cup, and grabbed a bottle of water, and poured it into the cup.

Christian took up the cup and shook it several times, then he put it on the table and said, "There is poison inside."

Then Christian looked down at Zen, who was on the floor, and he continued, "Zen, didn’t you always want to become Mrs. Lucas? Take this cup of water to Wendy and make her drink it, then I will let you become my wife.

"The poison will not take effect right away. Even when Michael comes, to have a chance to save Wendy, he will make a compromise and let us leave here.

"As long as you make Wendy drink this cup of water, we can leave here together.

"Then I will give you whatever you like in your life, isn’t it good?"

...

There was a sense of despair in Christian’s tone.

In this world, Zen Tanner was the only one who truly loved him. Zen had even betrayed Wendy for Christian’s sake, she even gave up her dignity. But she won’t now?

Looking at Zen shaking her head refusing, Christian suddenly tilted his head and laughed out loud.

"Christian, I won’t hurt Wendy, just give up." Zen endured the pain and said firmly.

"Zen Tanner, don’t you remember what happened before?" Christian tried his luck one last time and asked, "Do you no longer love me because you can’t recall what happened?"

Although Christian asked it in such a way, he knew why was this was happening well enough.

Wendy lost her memory and was instilled with the thought of loving him, however, she still didn’t love Christian despite all that. Even if Zen hadn’t remembered Christian, if she still loved him, she should have felt it too.

It’s just that he was not willing to accept it. He was resigned to the fact that in the end, he had nothing.

"I do have a lot of things that I can’t remember, but Christian, I won’t hurt Wendy even if I can’t recall any of it." Zen sounded determined.

"It seems that I really can’t get anything out of it." Christian laughed in desolation and despair.

Taking a deep breath, Christian gave Zen an evil look. He reached over and picked up the glass of water on the table and walked over to her, crouching down, Christian said, "I’m going to give you a choice, this glass of water, either you drink it or Wendy does. Do you choose to live or die?"

"We choose nothing!" Wendy said before Zen spoke, "Michael is coming soon, Christian, we don’t need to choose at all."

"Even if Michael comes, you are in my hands, and you can only live if I let you do so.

If I choose not to let you live then you both will die before me."

Christian said sinisterly, "Right now, I am giving you a chance to live."

Christian turned his head to look at Wendy and asked her again, "Or you can choose.

Do you choose to live, or do you choose to die?"

"I’m not making any choice!" Wendy knew that Christian was deliberately dragging them into hell. With this choice, no matter who chooses, the one who survives, will be guilt-ridden for the rest of their life.

The blood on their hands would never be erased.

Christian was trying to make the one who survived, spend the rest of their life in pain.

"If you don’t choose, then I will leave the choice to Zen." Christian looked at Zen again, "You do it..."

"Zen..." Wendy shook her head at Zen Tanner, signaling her not to do it.

No matter how Christian dealt with them, it was clear who their enemy was:

Christian.

But the way he psychologically tortured them like this caused permanent damage.

Zen Tanner bit back her words when she saw Wendy shake her head. "We’re not going to choose, you can do whatever you want," said Zen.

"It seems that your sisterhood does not run as deep as I thought, since neither of you is willing to die for the other." Christian snickered as if he had found some kind of rationality.

At this point, Christian had become more and more of a madman, and Wendy simply did not want to have a normal conversation with him.

He kept testing humanity, trying to drag them down into hell with him.

Wendy won’t do as he wished.

"Since you won’t choose, I’ll choose for both of you." Christian took turns looking at Wendy and Zen Tanner.

...

"Wendy, you’re the only woman I’ve ever loved. Since you don’t love me while you’re alive, let’s die together." Christian locked his eyes on Wendy.

Wendy subconsciously took a step back when she heard Christian’s words.

Zen shook her head and immediately said, "No Christian, don’t you touch Wendy!"

"I’ve already given you the chance to choose, it’s you who didn’t make a choice.

Now, there is no more for you to talk about!" Christian got closer to Wendy with a glass of water. Wendy, on the other hand, kept moving backward.

Zen, who was a few steps away from Wendy, saw Christian approach her and immediately got up from the ground and went up and grab Christian by his pants.

"Wendy you get out of here, quick..." Zen grabbed Christian’s leg with all her might.

However, her strength was little to none when faced with Christian’s, and he kicked her out of his way.

Zen was covered in bruises, and with this kick from Christian, she kept her head down, her whole mouth tasted like blood.

She spat out the blood in her mouth and tried to help Wendy again, but it was too late. Christian had grabbed Wendy’s wrist.

"Christian, do you really love me?" Wendy struggled hard, but she couldn’t break away from Christian’s hand.

"How dare you question my love for you!" Christian shook his head sadly hearing such words. After all he had done for Wendy, had she asked him if he really loved her?

"No, Christian, this not love..." Wendy immediately retorted, "If you love someone, you wouldn’t do something like this. This is your perverted and crazed possessiveness, you just want me."

"Just to possess you?" Christian said, "If I only wanted you, do you think I wouldn’t get you?"

"I’m not referring to just physically, I know, you care more, spiritually." Wendy did her best to stall for time, "Because you love me, you force me to love you back. If I don’t love you, you want me to die with you. Christian, to truly love someone is to let go of the person and respect their decision."

"Let go and respect their decision?" Christian burst into laughter, "Let you go so that you can be with Michael? Wendy, you really think highly of me; I am merely a human being not a saint."

"In that case, don’t say anything about loving me." Wendy sulked and said, "This is not what love is meant to be!"

"Why is this not?" Christian sneered, "I love you, but there is no way to be with you while we are alive, so I want to be with you when we are dead. Don’t I love you enough? Look how much I love you, I want to be with you even if I die."

"Christian..."

As Wendy was about to say something else, Christian interrupted her. "I know, you’re stalling for time until Michael gets here, aren’t you?"

Her intentions now revealed, Wendy didn’t cover up and admitted, "Yes, I was indeed waiting for Michael to arrive."

"Wendy, if Michael asked you to drink this glass of water, would you?" Christian suddenly changed the topic of discussion.

Wendy didn’t know exactly what Christian meant, but she still answered him, "Michael would never serve me a glass of poison."

Although Wendy had not yet fully recovered her memory, she was confident that herchoice of men wouldn’t have been this bad. The man that she loved would not do something like this. Besides, there are very few men out there as extreme and psychotic as Christian.
