Chapter 491: Is Christian Here?
Michael’s cooking was not that great in reality and was probably average.
Everyone praised his cooking because no one expected a man like Michael to be capable of cooking decently.
Hence, it exceeded everyone’s expectations.
"Fine. Now that you are done eating, can you leave already?" Michael drove Yonina out of the house. "Stop holding us up."
"I just knew you would never show up at work, so I came over to your place." Yonina looked annoyed as she said a little more sternly, "Michael, my dear Mr. Lucas. When are you going to start giving some time to work? MC Enterprise is yours after all!
Christian hasn’t been completely finished off yet. Can you go gallivanting and having fun with your wife after you are done defeating Christian for good? I keep feeling as though there is a sword hanging over my head. God knows what Christian is plotting next!"
"Christian is naturally up to something." Michael noticed that Wendy was almost done eating, so he put down his chopsticks and reached his hand out for a piece of tissue, and helped her wipe her mouth.
Yonina genuinely felt envious when she saw Michael’s gesture.
When would she be able to find such a good husband?
If Wendy did not come back, how would things turn out between her and Michael if they were still together? Would Michael have treated her so well?
Yonina contemplated before she shook her head slightly.
What was she thinking?
She no longer had any romantic feelings for Michael and was purely envious.
Michael wholeheartedly loved Wendy.
No matter what she felt, she would end up hurt.
She had already witnessed their love with her own eyes a few months ago.
Yonina felt some luck was needed when it came to romance. Not everyone had the same kind of luck as Wendy to meet Michael.
Naturally, Wendy deserved his love.
"If you know he is up to something, how can you stay so relaxed?" The moment Yonina heard what he said, she felt angry.
She picked up her briefcase beside her and retrieved a huge stack of documents and placed it in front of Michael. "Here are the urgent matters for MC Enterprise’s subsidiaries. Although I have handled them, you still have to take a look since you are the CEO."
Yonina retrieved another document. "Here is the quarterly report for MC Enterprise.
We didn’t do as well as we failed to outdo Christian and win the bid, hence, we lost a lot of clients."
"Here is all the information about Christian’s new project. The first batch of buildings is located in the 4th Ring in Lake City. People have already moved out of the allocated land," Yonina said. "Did you know that Christian has been going on business trips nonstop visiting all the city leaders and personally keeping an eye on its progress? Also, the foundation is already ready."
"I know," Michael said as he smiled. "Do you really think that I have been slacking off after handing the company to you?"
Yonina did not see this coming, so she did not know what to say for a moment.
"If you know everything, why won’t you go back to the office and take care of Christian?" Yonina said after a brief silence.
"Who says I have to be in the office if I want to work?" Michael stopped laughing and said in a serious tone, "I plan on visiting Christian. Now that we are back in town, he surprisingly did not visit us right away. It is clear that he is genuinely busy and cares about the project a lot."

"Are you going to see Christian?" Yonina was somewhat surprised.
"Since he did not reach out to us, I will take the initiative and visit him," Michael said. "Doesn’t he regularly supervise work at the construction site? In that case, let’s go over and look for him. Let’s check out how his project is doing and see if he needs our help."
Yonina saw the serious look on Michael’s face and felt relieved.
She was genuinely worried that all Michael cared about was Wendy now that they were back together.
From the looks of it, Michael still cared about work.
"Since you have already made plans, then just pretend I didn’t say anything." Yonina put away the documents into her briefcase one after another. "Oh yes. Do you want me to come along with you?"
"Why do you have to go?" Michael turned to look at Wendy before he said lovingly, "I am going with Wendy to do some public display of affection. If you go, would it not seem weird?"
"A public display of affection? I can’t believe you came up with that." Yonina rolled her eyes angrily at Michael.
Before long, she caught on to why he was doing this.
Christian also liked Wendy.
If Michael showed up with Wendy and acted affectionately in front of Christian, Christian was bound to get triggered badly.
"What were you saying about Christian’s schemes?" asked Yonina.
"We are going to give him some pressure so that he will show us what he is up to."
Michael smiled calmly.
Based on Michael’s understanding of Christian, it was highly likely for him to take a risk.
Although HG Enterprise was done for, HG Enterprise was not Christian’s main business. He was simply using HG Enterprise to camouflage himself.
Now that HG Enterprise was gone, Michael wanted to deliberately agitate Christian in an attempt to reveal Christian’s plans.
"Fine. In that case, I will not join in the fun." Yonina closed her briefcase and stood up. "Since I have had my fill, I am leaving."
"Yonina..." Michael said solemnly.
"Christian has a safe. He used to hide it in HG Enterprise. You probably already know this. However, Christian had already removed the safe when we went over to look for it. I am guessing the safe is currently in Lake City. Christian is a cautious man. He only allowed Timothy to take care of it when HG Enterprise was around. Now that HG Enterprise and Timothy are finished and Christian is in Lake City, considering his personality, he would probably keep the safe with himself now. You have to send someone to investigate the whereabouts of this safe."
"No problem. I will deploy some men to investigate the matter," Yonina replied as she nodded.
Christian was their common enemy.
Yonina simply wished they could take care of Christian as soon as possible.
That way, it would truly remove Collins Group’s threats.
If Christian’s project succeeded and he managed to bring DR Group back to life, then she would be in grave danger.
"Enough. You may leave." Michael waved his hand and sent her on her way without hesitation.
A moment ago, Michael was still talking about work, but he quickly sent her away.
If Yonina was not close to him, she would have punched him in the face ages ago.
"Wendy, bye..." Yonina rolled her eyes at Michael before looking at Wendy gently to say goodbye.
"Goodbye," Wendy replied as she smiled slightly awkwardly.
After Yonina left, Michael reached his hand out and held Wendy’s hand, and looked at her sideways to ask, "We are going to see our old friend. Are you afraid?"
"What do I have to fear with you around?" Wendy held Michael’s hand tightly.

Christian was considered Michael’s nemesis through and through.
From the day they were born, they were destined to be arch-enemies for the rest of their lives.
Michael once thought about being normal brothers with Christian.
However, it was naturally impossible.
There were too many things standing in their way. This included their family, status, wealth, power, and even their lover.
Although Christian never admitted his love towards Wendy, it was now common knowledge.
However, men like him never planned on loving any woman.
Love, naturally, was not as important to them.
Wendy also felt that Christian was the enemy.
Christian was not born her enemy at the start, but he eventually ended up this way.
From the day he came back to the country, he joined MC Enterprise as the deputy director and asked Wendy to be his assistant, Wendy knew he was a dangerous man.
She always had the sense to keep a distance from Christian.
Even then, Christian refused to let her off.
Michael and Zen had told her that Christian loved her.
However, Wendy did not feel that love should be all about possessiveness and ruin.
Despite his love for her, he ruined her.
Christian had abducted her and pushed her into the ocean. He also sent someone to meddle with her car brakes. These were all iron-clad proof that Christian was nothing but a demon.
The car had already arrived at the project.
Michael parked the car and undid the seatbelt.
He leaned over and undid Wendy’s seat belt for her.
Michael saw the serious look on Wendy’s face and said, "If you do not want to see Christian, then you can stay in the car and wait. I will be back real soon."
"It is fine. Let’s go over together." Wendy smiled as she reached her hand out to open the car door.
After getting out of the car, Wendy looked at the plot of land.
The southern side of the city was not very well developed.
This project was the government’s efforts to help develop second and third tier cities to even out their disparity between first tier cities.
Lake City was a first tier city, but the South side of the city was not highly developed.
Although it was located on the 4th Ring Road, it was not as prosperous as the 5th Ring Road.
Hence, Christian made the right choice to develop the 4th Ring Road in Lake City.
Wendy never doubted Christian’s business savviness.
He was definitely a capable man with the means.
Sadly, he did not use his talent and power for the good.
Michael walked up beside Wendy and held her hand tightly by intertwining their fingers before heading to the construction site.
As Yonina mentioned, its foundation was already in place.
When Wendy and Michael arrived at the construction site, the construction workers could not help taking a second look owing to the way they were dressed.
After all, very few people came to a construction site dressed in a suit and a dress.
Someone recognized Wendy and Michael and opened his eyes wide as he asked, "Are you Mr. and Mrs. Lucas?"
Michael nodded and asked, "Is Christian here?"
"Mr. Lucas came to inspect the construction site first thing in the morning and might be leaving anytime. Shall I bring you over to see Mr. Lucas?" the construction worker said before promptly realizing how strange it sounded.
It was certainly strange to call Michael "Mr. Lucas" in front of Christian.
Both of them were "Mr. Lucas."
However, he did not know how else to greet Michael for now.
"Thanks." Michael nodded courteously.
The construction worker thought he was mistaken when Michael spoke to him so politely.
The construction worker secretly scrutinized Michael to confirm that he did not make a mistake about his identity.
How could the CEO of MC Enterprise be so polite?
He was genuinely surprised.
