Chapter 164: It’s Yvonne Taylor
Going back to the ward, Michael Lucas looked at Todd Lewis and Mary Stewart with bloodshot eyes. His tone was more stable compared to yesterday, "Mr. Lewis, you should still have work, there’s no need for you to stay here. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of Wendy."
Turning his head, Michael looked at Mary again, "Mum, you can go back too, I’ll inform you when Wendy has awoken. Take care of your health and rest well."
In Michael’s heart, Wendy Stewart was his wife. It was his responsibility and duty.
"I’m not leaving, I want to stay here and wait for Wendy to wake up." Mary hadn’t cared much for Wendy since she was a child. But they were a family after all, and now that Wendy’s life was in danger, Mary was determined to stay in the ward and take care of her. "I’ve already called the school to take leave for her, I won’t leave."
Todd had indeed come to Lake City for a work errand. But with the situation now, he would feel guilty if he had to leave.
Todd said, "I’ll manage my work, I hope to accompany Corrine too, at least be with her through these three deciding days."
The doctor said that if Wendy did not wake up within three days, she would very possibly be in a vegetative state.
If she woke up within three days, then the problem would not be serious. But even if the problem was not serious, it would just mean that her life was not in danger.
The sequela after she woke up could not be predicted.
When Michael was still about to say something, Mr. York walked in.
He looked at Mary and Todd and walked towards Michael, initially wanting to say something in his ear.
Todd guessed what he was going to say and said, "If it’s regarding the perpetrator, just say it out loud, aunt and I would like to know who it is too."
Mr. York looked at Michael, and said once Michael nodded to him, "It’s Yvonne Taylor."
Mary and Todd did not know of the name Yvonne Taylor.
After all, they weren’t native to Lake City and had no previous relationship with Michael.
"So, it’s her!" Hearing the name, Jake Stewart clenched his little fists.
Yvonne and Jake knew each other. Back then, Yvonne had wanted to kidnap him as well.
To Jake, the two words ’Yvonne Taylor’ were not surprising.
With his fingers clenching up one by one, Michael said word by word to Mr. York, "Go on!"
"Yvonne bribed a few hooligans on the street to sabotage madam’s car brake two days ago at past two in the morning." Mr. York continued, "There were a total of five people. We’ve already locked on their location and we’re on the way to capture them."
Michael had guessed that it was Yvonne before.
After all, his car was parked together with Wendy’s car. But it was only Wendy’s car brake that was spoiled.
As for whether Christian Lucas was involved in this matter, Michael was not sure.
After all, it was not unlike Christian to use someone else to do his bidding.
It was just not that easy to catch hold of Christian’s deeds.
Over the years, he and Christian had many competitions in Lake City around intelligence, physical strength, and willpower.
However, neither had ever won the other.
No matter whether Christian was a part of this, now that they had caught Yvonne, it was time to get her for payback.
"Go." With a simple word, Michael wanted to turn and leave.
Seeing that, Jake immediately pulled the needle out from his arm and climbed down the bed. He said loudly behind Michael, "I want to go too."
Jake knew that the previous relationship between Yvonne and Michael was complicated. He was afraid that Michael would have compassion towards Yvonne.
In the past, Yvonne and his mother had had arguments, but it was a minor conflict that was quickly forgotten by all. But this time, Yvonne wanted him and his mother both dead.
Jake had to follow to ensure that Michael was seeking revenge for mummy and not let her down.
"You’re still on the drip, you should stay here." Michael turned his head and saw that Jake was standing barefooted on the ground, he immediately carried him back up the bed.
But Jake’s eyes were exceptionally firm as he said, "I must go."
Michael Lucas knew that this son of his was not normal. With Jake Stewart’s insistence, Michael agreed to bring him along.
Jake was only minorly injured in this car accident and was already not in much danger after waking up.
It would not be much of a problem bringing him along anyway.
Todd Lewis initially wanted to follow too, but Michael had rejected.
This matter was unrelated to Todd, so there was no need in dragging him in.
Yvonne and her people were brought straight to a storehouse under Michael’s name.
When Yvonne saw Michael, her eyes were filled with fear. She was very clear that Michael no longer loved her.
Accurately speaking, he had never loved her.
Now that he had looked for her, it was definitely because he had found her out.
Although Yvonne was dumb, she was still a normal person. With Michael’s power, it was not hard to trace the matter to her.
She looked at Michael’s bloodshot eyes and her heart raced while her feet unconsciously staggered backwards.
The four hooligans behind her had long knelt down and was kowtowing, "Mr. Lucas, Mr. Lucas, let us go. This matter was all directed by her, we’re only being paid to do it, we had no intentions."
The hooligans did not flinch as they directly blamed the matter on Yvonne.
"We guarantee that we won’t dare to do these things anymore next time, Mr. Lucas, forgive us with your generosity."
This bunch of people had left once they had crashed into Wendy. But they could not escape from Michael’s hands.
When Wendy fell into the sea five years ago, Michael did not hunt down the gang of kidnappers, and it was Michael’s regret these five years.
He had not personally taken revenge for Wendy. But back then, it was because all his energy and time had been spent on finding Wendy, so he did not hunt down the kidnappers.
This time, Wendy had gotten into an accident right before his eyes.
How could he let these people escape again!
Michael advanced step by step towards Yvonne, while Yvonne retreated step by step.
When she finally had no room to retreat, Yvonne backed against the wall and shook her head in fear, "Michael, you can’t kill me, you still owe Harold a life, have you forgotten? You’ve promised Harold that you’ll take care of me for life, you can’t kill me..."
Michael’s eyes made Yvonne feel scared.
She had gone to this stage having thought before that Michael would take revenge for Wendy. But she had stood by the thought that Michael would have guilt in his heart and thought that he would not take her life. But with his eyes right now, it was really too horrifying.
Yvonne completely had no confidence that he would let her go.
Rather, she could see the killing intent Michael had towards her.
"Harold, Harold..." Michael suddenly smiled. His smile was unusually mad. "You still have the audacity to mention Harold until now! Yvonne, Harold handed you to me before passing, not to let you commit such a murderous thing in the name of my love! If Harold was still alive, he’d definitely be heartbroken seeing you right now."
"No, Harold loves me so much, he definitely won’t." Yvonne shook her head vigorously, with her hands on the wall and her tears flowing down her face.
"Michael, you definitely won’t kill me, right?"
"What do you think, Yvonne?" Michael asked Yvonne back, "Why have you become what you are today? Could you tell me?"
"Why have I become what I am?" Yvonne suddenly laughed as well, but she was crying and laughing at the same time, "I’ve loved you so many years, been by your side, just waiting for you to marry me. But you had to marry Wendy Stewart, just how is Wendy Stewart better than me? You’ve clearly promised me that you’ll divorce her. But you didn’t divorce her and even fell in love with her! Michael, do you know how painful my heart is? I’ve walked to this step today all because you forced me to!"
