Chapter 115: Drag Her Out

Yvonne continued following behind Wendy, waiting to snatch more dresses out of her hands. When she saw Wendy smiling at her with her arms crossed, she sneered, "Aren’t you going to choose more dresses?"

"You’re just going to take them away from one anyway, I can’t be bothered," said Wendy in a deliberately provocative manner.

Yvonne was very pleased to hear that. Since Wendy took Michael from her, she would at least take the clothes that Wendy wanted. Yvonne vowed to take whatever Wendy liked away from her. Scoffing proudly, Yvonne turned around and informed the sales assistant, "Get the bill."

This was the first time that the sales assistant had encountered a situation like this. A smile lit up her face as she looked down at the huge pile of clothes in her hands. She said respectfully, "Miss, please come this way with me."

Yvonne followed behind the sales assistant with her head cocked. She strutted past Wendy like a proud peacock.

This was Jake’s first time meeting Yvonne. He did not know the exact relationship she had with her mother, but it was obvious that they were enemies. "Mummy, that lady is so rude," said Jake. He could tell that Wendy had been deliberately provoking her.

When Wendy heard her son, the smile on her face grew wider. She said, "She has always been like that." With that, she could not help but sigh and wonder what exactly Michael had seen in Yvonne. In her perspective, Yvonne was extremely unintelligent. Her looks were above average, but not outstanding. In fact, Zen Tanner could outshine Yvonne in terms of appearance if she dressed up.

"Miss, I’m sorry, but there is insufficient balance on your card. Can you give me another card?" said the sales assistant, whose attitude was now a little less respectful than before.

Internally, she was mocking Yvonne for showing off without having enough money to back her up.

Wendy had quickly calculated the total sum of the dresses and believed that they did not exceed ten thousand dollars. She thought, does Yvonne not even have that much in her account now? That’s pretty pathetic. Five years ago, everything she wore was designer since Michael provided for her generously. In fact, she could easily afford dresses that were many thousands of dollars.

Yvonne’s face immediately flushed red when she heard the sales assistant. Sticking her neck out, she said, "That’s impossible! Try again."

The truth was that she had suspected that this might happen. However, she could not afford to embarrass herself like this in front of Wendy Stewart!

She had initially believed that Wendy would get upset and leave after their encounter. However, instead, Wendy had unexpectedly followed her to the counter. She glanced at Wendy and saw a mocking smile on her face. It was clear that Wendy was laughing at her.

"I’m sorry, miss, but there is insufficient balance," said the sales assistant as she handed the card back to Yvonne. From the look on her face, it was clear that she was starting to grow impatient. She said, "Why don’t you give me another card?"

The sales assistant had believed that she was lucky enough to encounter a rich customer today. In the end, it turned out to be nothing more than an act. What a waste of her time.

Because of that, she no longer had the patience to continue entertaining Yvonne.

Yvonne was just about to let out her rage at the sales assistant for her attitude when Wendy crossed her arms and said calmly, "Isn’t it normal to have an insufficient balance on one debit card? After all, I don’t put all my money in the same account either. And who even still uses a debit card for shopping? Don’t we all use credit cards these days?"

"Miss Taylor, don’t tell me that even your credit card is maxed out... If that’s the case, it would be really..."

She deliberately left her sentence unfinished. It was just too easy to bait Yvonne. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Feeling provoked, Yvonne immediately took out all the cards she had in her purse, "Try them all."

Wendy glanced at the counter and saw that there were several credit cards. It seemed that Yvonne really didn’t have much money left to her name. That realization put Wendy in an excellent mood.

The sales assistant swiped a few different cards until the payment finally went through.

Even though she knew that Yvonne only bought so many dresses to spite Wendy, this huge sale was still a boost for her sales performance. As she packed the dresses into a shopping bag with a smile on her face, she said, "Would you like us to deliver these to your house?"

"No need," said Yvonne, reaching out to grab the shopping bag. However, she realized that the weight of all the dresses made carrying her purchase quite a laborious task. She had completely maxed out all her credit cards from today’s shopping spree.

In the past, Michael always gave her money. But ever since Wendy fell into the sea five years ago, he rarely did that anymore. Every time Yvonne asked him for money, he would transfer a few hundred thousand dollars. However, he only did that because she always mentioned Harold Wilson. Otherwise, it would be difficult to get a single cent from him. Clearly, she had fallen from grace. Moreover, her last encounter with Wendy at MC Enterprise had left her completely humiliated. Instead of helping her, Michael had chosen to take Wendy’s side.

Hence, Yvonne knew very well that it would be difficult for her to ask Michael for more money now.

Wendy looked down and smiled at Jake as Yvonne brushed past her with a sullen look on her face. Since Yvonne had already left, there was nothing else for Wendy to see here. She took Jake to another shop to keep looking.

After visiting a few different shops, she walked past the first one she had visited and unexpectedly saw Yvonne inside.

This time, Yvonne was in a heated argument with the sales assistant from earlier.

"What gives you the right to not give me a refund?!" Yvonne said loudly, "Every other shop has a refund policy within the first 24 hours. What’s so special about your shop? I literally just bought these dresses; it hasn’t even been an hour yet. They’re all still sealed in their packaging!"

"I’m sorry, Miss, but we are a high-end clothing store, and the refund policy does not apply here," said the sales assistant, who was clearly displeased. Still, she said patiently, "Perhaps you’re talking about the ordinary clothing stores downstairs with refund policies for clothes sold Within a week."

"I don’t care, I want a refund!" The only reason that Yvonne had rejected having the clothes delivered to her house was because she had already decided to return the dresses. There was no way she would have backed down in front of Wendy. However, she could no longer afford such a luxurious lifestyle today. On top of that, she did not even like most of these dresses.

They did not suit her, and she could not even fit into some of them. Purchasing them was simply a waste of money.

"Miss, please stop making a scene here, okay?" said the sales assistant, becoming angry now.

She mocked her, "You shouldn’t have put on an act if you couldn’t afford it. Look at you, purchasing these clothes in front of that lady just before, but demanding a refund now. You’re clearly making a fool of yourself."

"What did you say?" Yvonne was so enraged by the sales assistant’s words that she pointed at her and yelled, "How can you say that to me? I’ll sue you!"

"You can’t even afford these clothes, how are you going to sue me?" said the sales assistant mockingly. "All you can do is file a complaint against me."

Wendy was quite surprised to witness this sight.

She could not believe that Yvonne was resorting to such low, desperate measures.

However, since she had been lucky enough to stumble upon this, there was no way that she would let Yvonne get her way. Holding Jake’s hand, they entered the store again.

She approached Yvonne and said in a mocking voice, "Hey, it’s you again. What a coincidence for us to meet again." Staring at the clothes on the counter, she continued, "What are you doing Miss Taylor? Are you here to get more clothes? I guess we have similar tastes, since you seem to like everything that I do. Why don’t I pick out a few more dresses for you?"

At Wendy’s mocking words, Yvonne fumed as she gritted her teeth. It was now clear to her that Wendy was pushing her buttons on purpose.

She could not let Wendy have the upper hand. Turning around, Yvonne raised her hand, poised to make Wendy pay. However, Wendy knew that Yvonne would react in that way and she firmly caught Yvonne’s raised hand in mid-air. Flinging it away roughly, she shot Yvonne an icy glare.

"Weren’t we just talking? What’s with you trying to get physical?"

"You!" Yvonne hissed as she moved to strike Wendy again.

Wendy took two steps back and created some distance between them. Turning to the salesperson, she demanded, "Do you not know how to call for security? Are you just going to stand by idly and watch someone cause a ruckus?"

Who Wendy was referring to was plain to see.

The salesperson fumbled around for her cell phone, hastening to call for the security guards, who arrived in no time. "This lady was causing a commotion and affecting our operations. Please lead her out. " She instructed the guards.

At this, the security guards flanked Yvonne, two on each side. "This way, Miss." One of the security guards coldly uttered.

"So all of you are just going to gang up against me?" By this time, Yvonne looked worn, yet she could not bear the thought of being defeated before Wendy.

Without warning, she sat on the floor, shamelessly yelling, "Call your store manager! I want to file a complaint!"

As It happened, the store manager was passing nearby. Noticing the chaotic atmosphere, she came forward, wearing a solemn expression. "I am the store manager. What’s the problem here?"

"I have a complaint about your store. Your employees seem to lack training!" Pointing at the salesperson, Yvonne continued, "Her attitude is terrible. How could you hire someone like her?"

The store manager shot a sharp look at the salesperson, who hastily explained, "She was the one who kicked up a fuss over nothing. I had no choice but to call for security because of the commotion she was causing."

"Nonsense, you were the one-" Before Yvonne could finish her retort, Wendy raised her cell phone and took a photo of how Yvonne looked at that point.

She tutted at Yvonne’s behavior and sneered, "I wonder what would become of Miss Taylor’s reputation if I sent this image out? Oh, yes. No one really notices Miss Taylor anymore, do they? Still, I guess it wouldn’t look too good if Michael saw this."

"How dare you!" Yvonne got to her feet immediately and reached over to try to snatch Wendy’s cellphone.

Wendy easily dodged Yvonne’s attempt, causing Yvonne to keel over and land on the ground.

"Excuse me. What are you doing, Miss?" The store manager asked Wendy, having watched this exchange unfold and being concerned that both ladies were just here to cause trouble.

Wendy whipped out a name card from her purse and handed it to the store manager. Once her gaze fell upon the name ’Caroline Swift,’ the store manager was filled with admiration and surprise. "You’re Miss Caroline Swift? I’ve heard so much about you! It’s a great honor to have you visit our store."

Turning around, the store manager said to the salesperson, "Hurry up and lead Miss Caroline Swift to the VIP lounge-"

Before the store manager could finish her words, Wendy waved casually and muttered, "No need for that." Looking at Yvonne who was on the floor, she added, "Just be sure to manage what’s happening in your store."

The store manager understood what Wendy meant and nodded repeatedly. Turning to the security guards, she instructed, "Get her out of here and make sure she never steps foot in here again."

"How dare you!" Before Yvonne could truly complain, she was being marched out.

"Wendy, you lowlife! Things will not turn out well for you!" Yvonne’s screams could still be heard in the store, eventually fading away as she was brought out of the store.
