Chapter 550: Chapter 492 Let’s Make a Deal
"Sebastian." Ryleigh gathered all her courage and called Sebastian’s name for the first time. She had been living cautiously, and she was afraid to offend Sebastian. She was unable to afford the consequences.
Sebastian frowned slightly and did not speak, but he did not hang up either.
Ryleigh paused for a while. Since Sebastian didn’t finish the call, she sighed in relief and continued, "Let’s make a deal. You are right. I’m not in prison. I’m abroad now. As long as you help me return to Aldness, I can do whatever you want me to do. I have to stop Melissa from being engaged to Murray in a few days. Please help me."
Sebastian was amused by Ryleigh’s words.
Sebastian had been paying attention to Murray recently. He laughed out because he felt Ryleigh was pitiful as well as stupid.
Obviously, Murray didn’t love Ryleigh at all. Sebastian wondered why she didn’t give him up. She kept pestering Murray. What a fool she was!
Sebastian chewed over Ryleigh’s proposal. He had been wanting to take down Murray for a long time. Although Ryleigh probably was not helpful, he didn’t mind giving it a try.
Sebastian said with a sneer, "That’s the deal. You know what will happen to you if you dare to betray me again."
Clearly, he didn’t forget what Ryleigh had done when he asked her to get the documents of the North Bay Project.
Ryleigh’s eyes lit up. She had made up her mind. No matter what Sebastian said, she would agree. The most urgent thing for her was to go back to destroy Murray’s engagement ceremony.
"Okay, I got it. As long as you help me, I won’t betray you."
Hearing Ryleigh’s words, Sebastian revealed a malicious smile. He was satisfied with the result of the conversation.
"Alright, you can come back to Aldness by air the day after tomorrow. I’ll ask someone else to buy you a ticket and send it to you timely. If you miss the flight and can’t return, it is not my problem."
Then, Sebastian finished the call. Ryleigh held the phone, with mixed feelings. She couldn’t help becoming excited as well. She decided to take back what she had lost.
She wondered, Melissa, I won’t let you be with Murray.
Ryleigh got off the plane in Aldness two days later. She walked out of the airport with a suitcase. After going down the stairs, she saw a white car not far away. It was familiar. Ryleigh realized that it belonged to Sebastian.
"Ms. Sofia, you are back," the driver indifferently greeted Ryleigh, as if Ryleigh was a stranger.
Ryleigh sat in the back seat and lowered her head. She was so nervous and excited that she didn’t say a word. When she thought about meeting Sebastian, she couldn’t help feeling panic. It had been a habit of her for many years.
Ryleigh reached Sebastian’s office and tried hard to calm herself down. She took a deep breath before pushing open the door of the office.
Sebastian looked up at Ryleigh and curled his lips when he heard the noise.
He said, "Here you are."
Ryleigh remained silent for a long time before replying to Sebastian. She slowly entered the office and stood away from Sebastian. "What else do you need me to do?"
Sebastian nodded in satisfaction. "I’m glad that you didn’t forget your promise."
He turned around and took down a box from the shelf behind the chair. As he opened it, Ryleigh saw an object in the shape of a ball. With several threads on it, the object looked like a bomb.
"What is this?" Ryleigh was confused.
Sebastian smiled and handed the box to Ryleigh, saying, "It is the latest small bomb. Murray and Melissa’s engagement ceremony will be held in seven days. I will give you an invitation. You have to attend the ceremony with the bomb and..."
Sebastian stopped and made a slicing gesture. He stared at Ryleigh with a gloomy expression and asked, "You know what I mean, right?"
Ryleigh was stunned. She did not expect that Sebastian would give her a bomb. However, she didn’t say no. She was blinded by hatred. After knowing that Murray was about to get engaged to Melissa, she hated both Murray and Melissa.
She looked down at the box for a while before taking it. "Okay, I understand."
As time went by, Murray and Melissa’s engagement ceremony was drawing near. Murray couldn’t help being excited. He was in a much better mood. He often wore a smile on his face when he was in the company. All the other employees found it unbelievable.
Apart from working, Murray spent all the time staying with Melissa. He finished his work early and came home to do the jigsaw puzzle with Melissa today.
Although they had worked out the puzzle, Melissa didn’t look happy. Murray was worried about her and finally asked, "What happened? Why do you look sullen?"
Melissa shook her head and stared at Murray in puzzlement. She had a bad premonition and was in a flurry. However, she did not know the reason. Nothing bad had happened to her.
She hesitated for a moment before saying, "I feel nervous today. It’s strange. I fear that something bad will happen to our engagement ceremony and it can’t be held smoothly."
Murray paused for a moment. He thought Melissa was under too much mental pressure because of working too hard recently. He raised his hand and patted her head lovingly.
"It’s okay. I’ve considered everything. Don’t think too much. You are busy with work, and you design the clothes by yourself. You must have been tired."
"No..." Murray’s words failed to pacify Melissa. She was still in a flurry. She raised her head and looked into Murray’s eyes. She forced herself to smile. She did not want to worry Murray, so she smiled a forced smile and changed the topic.
She said, "Forget it. I probably think too much. It’s okay. Don’t worry about me."
"You can stay at home and relax. If you are tired, you can switch off from your work. We’re going to get engaged. Are you ready to be my beautiful bride? After we get engaged, you can decide whether or not to work on your own. Anyway, I’ll take care of you. The Gibson Corporation is big."
When Murray thought that he was going to marry Melissa, he was extremely pleased. He would try his best to make Melissa happy. He didn’t want to see her being upset.
