Chapter 812: Chapter 247: Senior Brother Yao Wants to See You (2 Updates)
Suddenly, Mu Qingge developed a keen interest in the power divisions on the Divine Demon Continent.
However, Si Mo said, "When you enter the Divine Demon Continent, I’ll tell you more. For now, just tell me if you want these two puppets."
Want! Of course, I want them!
These two are simply unbeatable fighters!
However, she still had some questions in her mind. She said to Si Mo, "Once they awaken, will they simply follow my orders, or will they have some capacity for thought? How much of their skills from life, apart from their realm, will they retain? Most importantly, they belonged to different factions when alive. Will they brawl upon waking up?" She worried that rather than obtaining the puppets, her space would be destroyed by these gods and demons from tens of thousands of years ago.
Si Mo gazed at her, affection showing in his eyes. He said, "Fussing needlessly."
Mu Qingge was taken aback. How was she fussing unnecessarily?
Upon rethinking, she finally understood.
If her concerns were valid issues, Si Mo wouldn’t have brought her here. Which meant her worries were unfounded!
Thinking this way, Mu Qingge’s heart filled with anticipation.
"What needs to be done?" she proactively asked Si Mo.
Si Mo replied, "To forge a puppet requires Abnormal Fire, the master’s heart blood, and the activation by a God or Demon at the Saint Realm. All three conditions are indispensable, and you happen to possess them all."
His eyes were exceptionally bright, deep like the vast starry sky. Yet, that starry sky was filled not with cold solitude but with endless affection.
Mu Qingge was momentarily dazed, even though she had long been accustomed to Si Mo’s appearance, she still found herself occasionally stunned by his allure.
"Will it harm your body?" Mu Qingge murmured.
Her voice seemed like a mesmerized whisper. Yet, the content of her words made Si Mo momentarily surprised before bursting into laughter.
He pulled Mu Qingge into his embrace, feeling his heartbeat and breath.
"Indeed, you are the woman I’ve chosen," Si Mo said cryptically, making Mu Qingge confused.
She raised her head and met Si Mo’s gaze from below. His eyes glittered with fragmented starlight, so gentle it threatened to drown her.
Despite the circumstances, her Little Ge’er was worried about his body, which made him exceedingly gratified and deeply touched.
It seemed there had never been anyone who cared about him like this before.
His father?
Heh, that man indulged in beauty all day long and probably didn’t even remember he had a son.
His mother?
That persistent woman burned herself for love, only saying "sorry" to him before she died.
And his siblings?
What was left between them, apart from vying for the King’s position?
Si Mo’s lips held a faint smile, with cold indifference in his eyes, merging before Mu Qingge. He recalled childhood events, memories of oppression and torment, and his past escapes.
Tens of thousands of years, he had long grown accustomed to being alone.
But now, gazing at the woman in his arms, he realized his heart was beating.
With a large hand, he pressed Mu Qingge’s head against his chest. Si Mo’s chin rested atop Mu Qingge’s hair, inhaling her fragrance. In a low, magnetic voice, he slowly said above her head, "Little Ge’er, thank you for appearing beside me."
If he were to lose her, he too would cease to exist!
The man’s sudden melancholy made Mu Qingge inexplicably feel heartache.
Yet, before she could offer a few words of comfort, that trace of melancholy vanished.
Si Mo was still that overwhelmingly powerful Si Mo, the man who, even if he sealed everything related to her, could instantly recognize her, never letting himself down!
She leaned into the man’s embrace, a smile appearing on her lips, inwardly saying, "Si Mo, thank you for appearing beside me. And not letting go despite my countless refusals."
She dared not imagine what she would lose if they missed each other!
Si Mo said, "Little Ge’er, don’t worry. Though I can’t use Spiritual Power now, my cultivation remains. Activating two puppets isn’t a big deal."
Even though he said that, Mu Qingge still shook her head in refusal. "Let’s wait until you fully recover."
Si Mo frowned, still wanting to persuade her.
But Mu Qingge raised her hand to interrupt the words he hadn’t spoken yet, "I’m currently at the Alchemy Institute, there won’t be any danger. Moreover, if anything unforeseen occurs, I can also escape into the space. So heed me, wait until you recover before helping me forge these two puppets."
Si Mo furrowed his brows and straightforwardly said, "If there really is danger, given your nature, you wouldn’t hide easily. Once these two puppets are forged, their power will be suppressed at the bordering point of the realm. With them protecting you, only then will it be reassuring for your safety."
"If I rely on them for everything, I won’t be able to grow." Mu Qingge insisted.
This statement left Si Mo speechless.
He had walked step by step to the Demon Lord’s position, knowing full well that the path of the strong must be treaded by oneself. Yet, when it came to Mu Qingge, he couldn’t bear it.
Mu Qingge observed Si Mo’s solemn expression, smiled slightly, and like coaxing a child, held his face in both hands, stood on tiptoe, and lightly pecked his lips.
This kiss immediately dispelled the gloom in Si Mo’s eyes.
"Little Qingge, let’s do something else," Si Mo’s heart began to stir restlessly.
However, Mu Qingge timely withdrew and coolly left a sentence, "The ten-day period hasn’t ended, take good care of yourself," then elegantly turned around and left.
Once she disappeared from Si Mo’s sight, the helplessly doting smile on his face faded away, replaced by a cold and arrogant expression.
Si Mo raised his hand and made a grasping motion.
A shout came from afar, and soon, a shadow was rapidly pulled over from a distance.
With a thud, Mengmeng fell at Si Mo’s feet.
She wrinkled her nose, rubbed her sore butt, and glared angrily up at Si Mo, grinding her teeth and said, "Don’t think that just because the master brought you in, you can do whatever you want! Hmph!"
Si Mo lowered his eyes and glanced indifferently.
The coldness in his eyes suddenly made Mengmeng feel as if the air around her was drawn out, and she found herself in extreme danger.
"Are you the Artifact Spirit of this space? Accelerate the flow of time in this space by a factor of two." Si Mo initially wanted Mengmeng to adjust it to a one to ten ratio, but thinking this might make Mu Qingge freak out, he restrained himself.
Although Mengmeng wanted to refuse defiantly, when Si Mo’s murderous gaze swept over, she lowered her head dejectedly.
’Sob sob sob~! Master, baby is sorry! The Great Demon King forced me!’
...
Without the Token, not even the Outer Court Stewards of the Alchemy Institute could enter the Inner Courtyard.
Mu Qingge and Mei Zizhong, led by Zhao Nanxing, arrived outside the gates of the Inner Courtyard.
"The gates of the Inner Courtyard are always shut. The high walls block the Outer Court’s view, thus the mystery inside remains the most intriguing place in the hearts of the Outer Courtyard disciples. Of course, it’s also a place of their admiration and longing," Zhao Nanxing explained.
After saying that, he smiled again, "Actually, once inside, one finds there’s nothing much to be curious about. It’s like a small city, but it gathers the most talented Alchemists and the greatest Alchemists of the Middle Ancient Realm."
The closed gates were opened from the inside.
The three people who came out were very young.
But in this Otherworldly cultivation realm, longevity and aging defy the norms. Just by looking at their appearance, one couldn’t guess their age.
Like the people before her, if Zhao Nanxing hadn’t told Mu Qingge through sound transmission that they were three or four hundred years old, she would never have thought so.
Similarly, if Mu Qingge hadn’t said she was only in her twenties, those unfamiliar with her wouldn’t know she was so young.
’The Alchemy Institute indeed has youth-preserving techniques!’ Mu Qingge couldn’t help but tsk in her heart.
Recalling the time at the Medicine Tower Branch in Yu Country when she crafted a Youthful Appearance Pill, which led to a mad rush among many women.
"Follow us inside," the leader of the trio said to Mu Qingge and Mei Zizhong before turning to lead the way.
The three, with their hands clasped in front of them, all appeared to be people who followed rules strictly.
As they entered the Inner Courtyard, the half-open gate was shut again, blocking outside prying eyes.
Once inside, Mu Qingge understood what Zhao Nanxing had meant earlier. Indeed, the Inner Courtyard of the Alchemy Institute resembled a small town.
There were taverns and tea houses, as well as shops and markets.
"These are set up by the families of the Protectors in the Inner Courtyard, solving the daily needs of the Inner Courtyard disciples, which the dean permitted," Zhao Nanxing explained in a low voice.
The fresh faces of Mu Qingge and Mei Zizhong attracted the curiosity of many Inner Courtyard disciples. Some secretly observed, while others whispered amongst themselves.
The guides brought Mu Qingge and Mei Zizhong to a quiet courtyard, where they saw Shang Zisu and Zhu Ling, who had arrived earlier, waiting outside.
The two women joined Mu Qingge and Mei Zizhong, reuniting the five of them.
The guide turned and said to Mu Qingge and Mei Zizhong, "You’ll receive your Identity Tokens and assigned courtyard here. After handling your procedures, feel free to explore."
"Thank you, senior brother," Zhao Nanxing slightly bowed in courtesy.
The trio left somewhat arrogantly, with the two silent ones seemingly merely props to highlight the ’extraordinary elegance’ of the person in the middle.
"Now that they’ve left, we can be more at ease," Zhu Ling laughed.
Her laughter always carried an innate allure.
"Let’s get our things and handle the procedures first, then we’ll show you around this Inner Courtyard," Zhao Nanxing said to the two.
Mu Qingge and Mei Zizhong nodded slightly, entered, and smoothly completed their entry procedures, obtaining their Identity Tokens and the keys to their residence.
However, as they exited, there was an additional person in the courtyard, seemingly... waiting for them.
Upon seeing the person, Zhao Nanxing’s eyes narrowed sharply in vigilance, "This is one of Senior Brother Yao’s people."
Senior Brother Yao? Yao Xinghai?
A person’s image immediately popped into Mu Qingge’s mind.
At this moment, the person approached and, folding hands in salute, said to Mu Qingge, "Are you Mu junior brother? Senior Brother Yao invites you."
