Chapter 321: Chapter 321 I Want a Grand Wedding and I Want Xiaobao Too (4)

"Di An, how did you come back? Is there news about the Prince?" Feng Xuxu eagerly stepped forward and asked upon seeing Di An, who had gone out to search for the Prince.

"Princess, the Prince is still alive, he hasn’t died." With lips cracked and peeling, Di An reported to the princess with a silly smile.

Upon hearing this, the corners of Feng Xuxu’s mouth lifted into a wide arc as she smiled through the tears streaming down her face.

Seeing the princess both cry and laugh, Di An couldn’t help but feel his own eyes reddening.

"Princess, what are you crying for? Isn’t this good news?" Di An wiped the tears from his face, trying to comfort the princess with a nasally voice.

Upon asking and learning that Dugu Chen was okay, Feng Xuxu couldn’t contain her excitement and burst into tears, "Where is the Prince? Where is he?"

After calming down from the excitement, she asked about Dugu Chen, feeling an urgent desire to rush over and see the person she had been worrying about. "The Prince is currently at the border, he just encountered Yue Xingyun and is on his way back now."

"The border? How did he end up there?" She was surprised for a moment. No wonder she couldn’t find him in their own country; he had gone to a neighboring nation.

"As for the specifics, I don’t know either. We can only wait for the Prince to return to the residence to find out." Di An was also puzzled, but he shrugged it off, confident that all would become clear once the Prince returned.

"Right, let’s keep this information under wraps for now. We can spread the word once the Prince is back at the residence." Better to prevent certain individuals from scheming, ambushing, or assassinating him along the way.

"As you command, princess. I’ll take care of it right now." Di An quickly understood and promptly turned to go find the butler.

Mei Lenglei was very happy too, relieved that her master could finally have a peaceful night’s sleep.

"Princess, why don’t you go lie down for a while?" Lenglei suggested, taking advantage of the joyful mood.

"No need, I can’t sleep. I’ll take a nap at noon." Feng Xuxu said as she walked into the main hall with her protruding belly and sat at the table, unable to suppress a smile.

When Yingsu and the others came to help the princess with her morning wash, they found she had already risen early. Glancing at Sister Mei, Yingsu couldn’t help but wonder, "Sister Mei, did the princess not sleep all night?" She set down the basin she was carrying and tiptoed over to Mei.

"Shh! She was woken up. The Prince will be back in just over half a month." Mei leaned in and whispered softly into Yingsu’s ear.

"Really... eh." Seeing Yingsu’s eyes widen as she began to speak, Mei Lenglei quickly covered her mouth, "Keep your voice down. We mustn’t speak of this to outsiders; it could put the Prince in danger."

After listening, Yingsu nodded vigorously, and only then did Lenglei let go of her mouth.

"Sister Mei, don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone," they whispered to each other.

"What are you two doing over there? I’m hungry. I want some soup dumplings. Have the kitchen prepare more." Feng Xuxu rubbed her belly, which was already growling.

"Right away, princess." Yingsu happily scampered off to the small kitchen, and Feng Xuxu shook her head at the sight.

After washing up, the soup dumplings were brought to the table. Feng Xuxu, sitting before it, gazed at a plump white dumpling. She picked one up with her chopsticks and brought it to her lips, taking a small bite. The flavor of shiitake mushrooms mixed with pork filled her taste buds; she ate with a face full of bliss. After filling up, she realized that only two lonely dumplings remained out of an entire tray, the rest having been eaten. She clicked her tongue in astonishment at her own appetite.

The two maidservants attending her were overjoyed since the princess hadn’t eaten this much in two months.

Feng Xuxu did not share the news of the Prince’s impending return with her elder brother, Feng Xi. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust him, but rather she feared he might give something away in front of others.

A few peaceful days passed until one day, Beitang Xuan led Beitang Qinmeng and Zongzheng Zehang brought Zongzheng Tinglan to visit the enchanting princess.

The butler guided the visitors to the grand hall at the front courtyard and sent a second-class servant to notify the princess. After tidying up her makeup, Feng Xuxu rose and hurried to the front courtyard.

Upon entering the grand hall, several people approached Feng Xuxu to pay their respects.

"Commoner, Zehang, paying respects to the princess."

"Commoner Beitang Xuan, Beitang Qinmeng, paying respects to the princess."

Just as they were about to kneel, they were stopped by Feng Xuxu.

"No need for excessive formalities."

"Thank you, princess." Seeing Feng Xuxu had arrived, Tinglan ran over. "Sister, I’ve missed you so much." She took hold of Feng Xuxu’s hand, her eyes filled with curiosity as she looked at Sister Feng’s protruding belly. Just as her little hand was about to touch Feng Xuxu’s belly, Zongzheng Zehang pulled it back, casting a veiled glare. "Hehehe, Big Brother Zongzheng, it’s alright." She lifted Tinglan’s soft hand and placed it back on her stomach.

Tinglan curiously felt around and suddenly shouted, "Sister, it moved, it moved!" She withdrew her hand and pointed at the belly, her big eyes intently staring at Sister’s round belly.

The others, upon hearing this, merely pursed their lips in a smile. Qinmeng stepped forward, took Tinglan’s hand gently, and said in a soft voice, "Did it scare you? Let’s see if you dare to touch next time."

Tinglan turned her head to look at Qinmeng, her brows furrowed in confusion. "Sister Qinmeng, why isn’t your belly as big as Sister Feng’s?"

Qinmeng hadn’t expected Tinglan to say that, and after a moment of stunned silence, her cheeks flushed red. "Little Sister Tinglan, what are you talking about? If you keep this up, your sister might stop liking you." Her head bowed, and even the tips of her ears turned crimson.

Zongzheng Zehang and Beitang Xuan exchanged a smile and shook their heads.

"After your Sister Qinmeng is married, she’ll have a baby just like I do," Feng Xuxu said, tapping Tinglan’s nose. She informed her that only after getting married could one have a baby.

"Like having a brother-in-law?" she asked, looking up at Sister Feng.

Feng Xuxu thought for a moment and then nodded.

"I want to get married; I want a baby too," she declared to everyone, dropping a bombshell.

Suddenly, the hall fell silent; people exchanged looks, utterly perplexed. Feng Xuxu regarded Tinglan suspiciously. "You want to get married? Do you know what it means to get married?"

"Just like Sister Feng and my brother-in-law, together every day," Tinglan said, blinking and tilting her head as she looked at Feng Xuxu.

Feng Xuxu nodded, that was true; in her understanding, it seemed to be the case. "Then who do you want to marry?"

"Cousin," she blurted out without hesitation.

Feng Xuxu looked at Zongzheng Zehang, only to see that Zehang was also very puzzled. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

Zehang was similarly confused, looking at his little sister. Where did she get a cousin from? Why didn’t he know about it?

"Little sister, which cousin?" Unable to contain his curiosity, he went up to ask.

"Xuanyuan Jueqing, of course! Isn’t he Sister Feng’s cousin? Naturally, he is my cousin too." She gave her big brother a disdainful look, as if the distinction should have been obvious.

"What?"

"What?"

"What?"

Three voices chimed in unison, two inside the hall, one outside.
