Chapter 1637: Chapter 1637: No Need for Formalities Among Family

"Sit, sit, sit, today there’s no distinction between young or old, find the nearest seat and make yourself comfortable, don’t be shy. Gatherings like this will be held often in the future."

At Kristina Kingston’s invitation, everyone sat down at the dining table. Everything was orderly without being overly rigid.

The wine glasses on the table sparkled like crystal under the lights, and the napkins were folded into beautiful shapes.

The New Year’s Eve dinner at Emerald Cove was set to a high standard; I heard every dish was crafted by top Italian chefs.

Amidst the liveliness, there was warmth. Everyone clinked glasses, wishing each other a better year ahead. As they ate and chatted, the distance between them once again drew closer.

At the same time, inside the lit-up villa, the small Western-style building was brightly illuminated.

The table was full of seafood and Korland specialties. Carlotta Sterling was having a great time, feeling moved as she continuously praised Trevor’s cooking skills and thanked him.

"Talented people are truly versatile, managing the company so well and even having exceptional cooking skills." Carlotta sipped her red wine, growing more and more satisfied with this son-in-law.

Trevor was all smiles from the praise, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Carlotta inquired, "Trevor, you probably don’t cook much at home, right?"

Trevor looked up, with a touch of softness in his eyes, "Not much." He was honest, "But if I have a family in the future, I’ll cook often."

Hearing this, Janelle blushed.

"Haha, you really worked hard today." Carlotta was also very pleased, eating two bowls of rice tonight.

Janelle intentionally glanced at Old Mills, noticing he was earnestly eating, deliberately not looking up, but it wasn’t hard to see he was in a good mood tonight.

"Sister Sterling, two people cooked tonight, you can’t just thank Trevor." Janelle said with a smile, "Right? I saw you eating quite a bit of Old Mills’ dishes too."

At this moment, Old Mills looked up, meeting the gentle gaze of Carlotta, who said to him, "Thank you, Old Mills."

"You’re welcome, you’re welcome! We’re all family, no need to be formal!" Nathan Mills blurted out, feeling even more awkward, thinking, haven’t remarried yet, already talking about family... does it seem...?

Luckily, Carlotta didn’t say anything.

Janelle quickly raised her glass to ease the atmosphere, "Come on, let’s have a toast! Since we’re all family!"

Seeing her work so hard to warm things up, everyone raised their glasses.

"May your companies thrive more and more!"

"May Old Mills grow younger!"

"May Sister Sterling grow more beautiful!"

"May Trevor save up enough for the bride price soon, and marry such a good wife like me home soon! Cheers!"

Trevor and Old Mills were amused by her words.

Only Carlotta blushed on her behalf, "So shameless, you young lady! And so easily said!"

"What’s the big deal, we’re all family, no need for formalities!" Janelle clinked glasses in a particularly grand manner, "May our new year be better than the last, may everything go smoothly!"

Then she tilted back her head and happily drank the wine in her glass.

The dishes on the plates were almost finished, and the New Year’s Eve dinner was coming to an end; everyone was quite full.

During the meal, a few drinks were had, bringing the festive reunion atmosphere to its peak.

Perhaps Nathan Mills had been preparing, as he looked up after putting down his chopsticks, glancing at the young couple nearby, "Trevor, Janelle, it’s lively outside tonight, with New Year’s fireworks; aren’t you going to take a look?"

Trevor immediately understood his implication and responded, "We plan to go, we’ll head out in a bit."

Janelle also caught on, is Old Mills finally having a change of heart?? Giving them some private time for themselves?

"What do you mean in a bit?" Janelle grabbed a napkin to wipe the corner of her mouth, then pulled Trevor by the arm as she stood up, "Let’s go now! Come on, come on, let’s go!"

Just like that, Trevor was dragged out of the living room, toward his car, where she opened the driver’s door for him, "Hop in?"
