Chapter 432: Chapter 405: I Will Learn, Don’t Dislike Him (2)

After the family had tidied up, she began to get ready.

One carriage wasn’t enough, so Li Guifen and Lin Han took the donkey cart, and Song Ling, curious, insisted on going with them. Lin Ping and Lin An also decided to join.

Inside the carriage, Lin Qiao exchanged a few words with them before she started to doze off, resting her head awkwardly and eventually leaning onto Song Tingfan’s shoulder.

Song Tingfan lowered his shoulder a bit, then held her tightly, not taking his eyes off her face.

Lin Sheng and the others glanced over, feeling a bit embarrassed and turned their gaze away.

After sleeping for about half an hour, Lin Qiao felt much better. The acrobatics venue was on the way past Fan’an Shop, and Lin Qiao took a glance at it; there weren’t many people, and it looked clean and tidy.

It was quite reassuring.

They didn’t go inside, as the acrobatics were about to start around 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

"Daddy, higher, hahaha..."

"Alright, hold on tight."

A father and son walked by, playing and talking merrily, looking very happy.

Song Ling watched enviously; his father had never let him ride on his shoulders like a "horse." Just as he thought about it, he was suddenly lifted into the air, and before he knew it, he found himself sitting on his father’s shoulder.

His eyes lit up at once, and his mouth spread into a wide grin, "Daddy!"

"Yes." Song Tingfan held onto his legs firmly.

"Daddy, I want to fly higher."

"Okay."

"Daddy, I can see the big yellow dog over there."

"Got it."

Lin Qiao glanced over at the father and son, noticing their growing affection.

She realized that Song Tingfan was intentionally making up to the child.

Fortunately, the group had arrived early, as a lot of people were already gathered around the acrobatics area.

After a while, the acrobatics began: fire-breathing, stone smashing, pole standing, and other acts. Lin Qiao wasn’t very interested, but the others seemed quite engrossed.

The woman, though plainly dressed, had a pleasant complexion that didn’t resemble that of a woman who had given birth, attracting the gradual and obvious attention of many men.

Song Tingfan looked at them displeased, and soon pulled Lin Qiao into his embrace. She glanced at him and smiled, "What’s wrong?"

"Nothing." Song Tingfan shook his head slightly.

"No way, she’s already married, and that man is so ugly with a big scar on his face."

"What a waste."

The rough voices of the men drifted faintly into his ears, and the man’s grip tightened slightly, soon forcing himself to relax.

The people here spoke loudly, so Lin Qiao naturally heard them. She turned to look at them and cheerfully retorted, "Haven’t you taken a look in the mirror, big guys?"

"With bull noses and pig eyes, I think your wives are the ones who got wasted."

Though Song Ling didn’t understand what "wasted" meant, he knew they were talking about his father’s face.

He angrily responded, "My daddy isn’t ugly, you guys are!"

Li Guifen and the others, who were watching the commotion, turned their heads over, unsure what was happening, but seeing their daughter upset, their attention didn’t wander away.

Lin Han walked over, firmly saying, "What do you want!"

The men seemed to feel guilty and didn’t say anything, soon moving away from the area.

After a while, the family continued watching the acrobatics, and suddenly something warm filled his hand. Song Tingfan turned his head slightly, seeing the side profile of the woman, and all the gloom in his heart disappeared.

He said softly, "I’m fine."

What he cared about was never about appearance, but her opinion; as long as she didn’t care, he didn’t care either.

Lin Qiao’s eyes curved with a smile, "Husband."

Hearing the word "husband," Song Tingfan’s eyes brightened slightly, seeming to especially like the term; he held onto her tightly.

As a response.

After watching the acrobatics, it was already close to noon, and the group planned to have a meal before heading back.

Fan’an Shop

Jiang Ming looked a bit surprised at first, as he hadn’t seen them for several years. After asking the main boss, who had remained silent with a gloomy face, he exclaimed, "Young Master!"

"Hmm, you’ve gained some weight." Lin Qiao sized him up, noticing he was a lot plumper than his previous scrawny look.

Over the years, Jiang Ming had risen from a waiter to a shopkeeper. With more wages, life at home had improved.

His mother now had the money for medical treatment, leading to better health, and she was currently helping him find a wife.

"Yes, I did gain weight. The Young Master, however, hasn’t, and looks even better than before." As he said this, he glanced at Song Tingfan’s face.

Lin Qiao smiled, "You’ve got quite a sweet tongue."

The woman’s smiling demeanor made Song Tingfan feel a bit weighed down, as he disliked her talking or smiling with others. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

Was his mouth not sweet...

Unaware, Lin Qiao chatted for a while and then asked them to serve a few dishes.
